I needed to get a Full Synthetic Oil Change for my SUV and was looking for good mechanic. My GF dad was telling about this place and how well they service his cars. So I decided to given them a try. I called them earlier In the week and was quoted very reasonably. They are located on Central and Walnut in Chino; at the shopping center where Los Portales Restaurant and next to O'Reilly's. I get there and I was welcomed and they took care of me right away. While I was sitting, I had the chance to speak to the owner. Very friendly and great discussions. I was there for about 15-20mims and my SUv was ready. Not only was my oil changed, but my maintenance light was taken care of. My overall experience was great and I don't know where all the bad reviews come from. But, I can speak as to my experience, went well and was professional. In my personal opinion, I would recommend A Tech Automotive if you are looking for a mechanic and that provides quality and prices for service are reasonable. I had a car emergency.. my check engine light was rapidly blinking and I was stuck on the fwy in an area I was not familiar. I got a tow this auto shop came up as an AAA recommended mechanic shop.. The staff and the overall shop was great. I got my estimate and they fixed my car and check some other items I asked within 2 hours and I was out the same day. The price was reasonable. Strongly Do Not Recommend. Took my car in due to trembling. Patrick, owner, stated I needed to replace two hydrolytic converters. Did so, trembling continued. Took back and had a tune up. Trembling continued. He had not taken car out to test for trembling I later found out. Lastly, he worked on ball joints. Trembling stopped after $4,000 spent. Got screwed, I know. Plenty due to my being over trusting. But I do have a large family that once took all our cars to him and trusted his service and credibility. No Longer. Stay away! read more

So I go in for an oil change on my Ford F250. Only to find out that the last time they worked on my truck and did a oil change they actually stripped the plug and then proceeded to use red silicone to hold the drain plug and stop the leak. now I never had a leak or a stripped drain plug prior and they're the only ones that I've worked on my truck so when this was brought to my attention, they tried to deny their mistake and cover it up by saying that I must have taken it somewhere else when in fact, they are the only ones that have worked on my truck doing oil changes then when I spoke to Patrick , he also took no responsibility for the issue and said there are no shops that guarantee that the drain plug will not strip, and that this happens all the time, but they are not responsible for it I know that if I took it to Ford and if they stripped it , they wouldn't put silicone to hold the plug and they would be responsible for fixing it so therefore why wouldn't Patrick be responsible for it. I then informed him that two years ago while doing my brakes he stated that I needed additional work done which did not need to be done all to make a couple extra dollars that job cost me an additional $700. I've been a long time Customer there but now I will cut my ties with this shop. They are not honest and their work is not guaranteed. They take no responsibility for their actions so they now have lost a long time Customer . read more

I was looking around for a legit place to put new shocks on my Toyota FJ Cruiser. After looking at various tire/repair shops, I stumbled across A Tech Automotive. After reading solid reviews, it seemed on the up and up so I decided to take my SUV there. I took it in as soon as they open and talked to Patrick (who is often mentioned on reviews here). I was brining in my own parts, but Patrick agreed to install the shocks and to do an alignment for me. I was quoted an up front price and agreed to have the work done. About an hour and a half later I got a call from Patrick suggesting I replace my sway bar links. Patrick said they were leaking grease. I told Patrick i'd go back and take a look since the shop is pretty close to my house. Upon return I met with Patrick and his mechanic and they showed me what he was recommending. Patrick was not pushy, and suggested I replace them. Since they had never been replaced, and my car was 11 years old, I OK'd the repair. Patrick ordered the parts for me, and got me quality parts at a fair price. My truck took a little longer to repair due to the additional labor, but upon driving it home it felt amazing. I didn't want to spend the extra money on the additional parts, but since I intend on keeping the FJ until the wheels fall off, it was a no brainer. I was happy with the repairs, and communication. He told me just by looking at my car that I will need more than a alignment He nicely put my car up and showed me what needed to be fix then quoted me The rude manger (owner) or who ever he is gave me a price that wassss wayyy to expensive So I thanked Jeff and went to another auto mechanic which was a lot less than this place and a lot nicer. -the yelp review on this page brought me here, but if I ever need anything done to my car I would go else where. Extremely disappointed with this shop. Went to go check out my cars AC unit and was told it would be 95 to check it out but it would go towards the repair if we decide to fix it. Was told it would be 400 to fix it. Asked the shop if we can bring it back in 2 days to get the funds. They cut me off on the phone saying that we would lose the 95 and they wouldn't put it towards the fixing. Idk how they have these 5 star reviews with 1 star services but maybe some people like being swindled out of their money. read more

Came here for an high mileage oil change, cost about $75 and 45 mins. It's about the same price compare to pep boys. Maybe a little lower. Technician is responsible here.Told me I only have one quart oil left which pep boys technician told me it's fine just few days before when I got my oil leak fixed there. Hopefully my engine isn't ruined by pep boys. Only down side: don't have AC in waiting room. read more

We had a great experience at A Tech automotive today! Came in because I was experiencing vibration while my Jeep was in drive and and shaking while starting up, quick google search said possible cause was bad motor mounts called A Tech and Patrick suggested we come in for a diagnosis. He calls me back to say driver side motor mount was leaking and bad suggested we replace both and suggested a tune up. Come back to pick up my car and Patrick goes out of his was to show me my leaking motor mount which I really appreciated seeing the work with my own eyes. This on behalf of a friend, on 2/25/23 he took his Toyota Tacoma in because he was having a problem with his gas gauge, he spoke with Patrick, Patrick told him it was the fuel pump and he would replace it with top of the line pump 3 year guarantee. After that it still was not working and went back 4 times because of the guarantee, on the 4th time he told him to go to the Toyota dealership. After paying 680.00 he ended up going to another Mechanic and paid 967.00 , he was told that A Tech installed the wrong pump. He feels like he was ripped off because even with the 3 years guarantee they would not honor it. read more

I would like to say that Patrick and Patty as well as the entire crew at A Tech Automotive are as good as it gets. They went above and beyond to help me and my wife out in a time of need then we ever could imagine coming from two people and a business that didn't know us at all. At the suggestion of my brother we had our Ford edge towed to their business on a Saturday evening we weren't sure what the problem was at the time. First thing Monday morning I met Patrick and he went to work on diagnosing my automobile. Since we were without a ride and Ubers were hit and miss Patty took us back to our hotel. Patrick called me and told me that this was a dealership issue and that we needed to get the car to a Ford dealership. He went above and beyond trying to do everything he could to help us. Patty came back to the hotel picked us up took us to the dealership and they were with us through the whole process they truly are an honest business that you can trust and rely on. I try to only post positive reviews but I really need to post this one.. I called this morning for tire prices and oil change. Immediately the man on the phone was very short with me, told me I needed to know the size of my tire, isn't he the tire seller?? How do I know the size. Anyway I decided to just go in person, apparently to be treated badly in person too, jokes on me I guess. I was ignored when I walked in, while they were both standing there, finally they payed attention to me. Anyway 5 min after leaving my car, he called to tell me he can't do it because my engine makes noise. I thought maybe being a mechanic, he would offer to help me see why my engine was making noise. Or at least offer me the tires that I originally asked for. But nope. Just can't do. Came to get my key and he was very rude. I asked why he didn't offer to help and he basically told me he can't help. I asked if he was even a mechanic and he said fuck you.. was so rude for no reason. The owner does not honor his work. Emergency brake was broken by his mechanic during a brake job and he has attempted to fix it three times in the last year but was unable to. Today, I visited his shop to ask him what could possibly be the problem because my car rolled and I sustained $1500 of body damage because the vehicle was not in gear. I am not blaming the owner for this accident but I wanted him to discuss the " challenge " of not being able to fix the brake after three tries as it is a safety issue. The owner, Patrick, stated the emergency brake was broken when he replaced the brakes. This is a flat out lie. HE THEN STATED" I WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY". " THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH REPLACING THE BRAKES ANYWAY " Anyone with basic knowledge knows this is not true. Also took him 8 months and four trips to fix oil leak. Great place to go if you want to spend your life returning over and over to attempt to get your vehicle repaired properly for work that was paid for and not done correctly. The owner's solution to this issue was to leave me "hanging" in his lobby and run and hide in the mechanic's bay until I left. Apparently repairing an e brake is more difficult than brain surgery. Surely there is a competent mechanic in Chino that knows how to fix an emergency brake? And even more important, an owner who cares about making sure work is performed properly to ensure the driver is safe behind the wheel. read more
