Hampton Inn & Suites Lenoir

We stopped in for a two night stay. We were greeted with bright smiles and cheerful attitudes…read more Payton was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Our room was ideal. We have a service dog and got a first floor room on the end so it was easy to dash out for potty breaks for him. The room appeared to have been recently renovated. Except for the carpet, everything was very clean. ( I don't think I have ever liked walking barefoot on hotel carpet. It's always sticky. It is probably very difficult to maintain with all the traffic.) The room had a slightly musty odor. So much so that I asked Hosia with housekeeping for some baking soda and to borrow his vacuum. He was very kind, soft-spoken, and helpful. I sprinkled it rather well, let it sit, then vacuumed it up. Now, the reason I asked to do it myself was because when my service dog has his vest off, that's his down time to be playful and relax, but also he,like any dog, reacts to a stranger in his personal space by barking. A stranger in the room especially with a vacuum would have made him to be loud and disturb others so that's why I did the vacuuming. I did not WANT anyone else in the room for that reason. And I am capable to use a vacuum by myself. Just as I finished, Hosia comes to the room and says he needs the vacuum. He looks a little urgent. He said he was not allowed to let a guest use it (his supervisor was standing right there when we all greed I could.) but apparently the general manager jumped on them about it and, honestly, that infuriated me. He and his supervisor were very kind to us and helping us with the odor. I cannot use febreze or Lysol or any fragrances due to severe sensitivity so the baking soda was a good choice and helped a lot. She should have thought that through. I would have gladly given her a THOROUGH explanation and defended the staff and their actions. And Hosia, housekeeping, and Payton all deserve recognition for their guest service's ability. The GM, however, needs a lesson in listening, understanding the dynamics of having a dog (of any kind) in a hotel, and customer accommodation and satisfaction. Aside from that the stay was great. The grounds are very well kept and safe to walk the dog day or night. There's a place to dispose of poop bags and it's all well lit. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the general manager's ignorance.

Our room was clean- we got a king suite with a pullout couch. For a suite there was not a separation- the pullout couch was across from the bed-the pullout couch was the size of a love seat it was very hard couch. Shower was nice, barn door on the bathroom. No dresser to put clothes- did have a closet. Pillows were terrible- needed 2 and they were still flat - we could have used 4 each- Towel's were scratchy. The shampoo, soap, body wash and lotion were really nice! Breakfast was good- so much variety. BAD- they let someone bring their dog in the food area!

I have only seen 2 of the guest rooms so far but both are lovely! I am staying in the Bella which is the bridal suite. It is gorgeous & has an enclosed sleeping porch, now the sitting room. The furnishings are so cute and the bed is super comfy!! I slept like a baby last night which rarely happens if I am staying at a chain hotel. I love the claw foot bathtub, which also has a shower in case you don't have time for a nice relaxing bath. I also love the toiletries they stock in the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lody lotion all smell fabulous! They also include other essentials like makeup remover wipes, shower cap, etc. They even have some bath salts that smell fabulous if you have time to enjoy a nice bath. Unfortunately this trip is for business so, I havent had much relaxation time. Also, my hubby could not join me this time due to his work, but we will definitely have to come back on a weekend to enjoy this wonderful place together. Since I had to be at my client site at 7:00 AM, I did not get to enjoy the full sit down breakfast this morning but Teresa & Craig packed me a nice go-to b-fast bag packed with all sorts of goodies including juice, bagel with cream cheese, a banana, and a delish Kind bar & even put a nice go-to coffee cup out for me so that I could take my coffee on the road. Also, I must say in this day & age I am very concerned about cleanliness at the big chain hotels and this place is immaculate! I have already booked some return trips as I am working on a project in the area for the next several weeks. I am sooo glad I found this place and would highly recommend it! Looking forward to my next stay! :-)

While making my way here I was a little worried but 10 seconds after meeting the innkeeper I was so glad I booked here. The inn is a beautiful, restored turn of the century home with huge magnolia trees on either side. The innkeepers take care of you and will accomodate any dietary or schedule needs you may have. If you are a light sleeper, use the provided earplugs to avoid getting woken up by the occasional train passing through at night. It didn't bother me at all. A comfortable room, a free upgrade, delicious breakfasts, and friendly, attentive service made for a very enjoyable stay. Looks like a nice spot for weddings and other events, too. Highly reccomended!

It was halfway between our starting point and our destination for a recent trip and for just at $100 (cheap for inflation years) this met all of our needs. Check in is done via drive through which is a new one for me but it was super convenient and quick. Very friendly service as well. Our room was clean, quiet, and had the basic amenities (in room single pot coffee, fridge, shower with decent water pressure, AC unit that helped keep things cool and served as a noise machine. Bed was decent, seemed somewhat new. Free basic breakfast served in the AM in the lobby. No complaints! Note-- this is located on a main strip across from fast food spots and gas stations. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps led us to the middle of nowhere blocks away and it took Waze to get us here for some reason.

Unless you are an…read moreundocumented construction worker, a refugee from a homeless shelter, or seeking a low-rent (*really* low-rent!) rendezvous, avoid this motel like the plague. The building itself is a standard Red Roof Inn (probably dating from the chain's founding in 1973) - which is likely the last time it saw any effort at renovations. People were constantly walking past the room at all hours, including barking dogs and loud children. There is no breakfast, just a [non-commercial] coffee machine in the lobby / check-in area. (Mercifully, there is a Waffle House next door.) Worst of all, they required a credit card over the phone for check-in to reserve the room. Only upon checking in were we told there was NO Internet and NO TV available. Drive further or sleep in your car - both better options than this dump.

Nestled against the backdrop of the Pisgah National Forest, BMBR lay along the winding creek bed of Wilson Creek Gorge (although it resembles more of a river than a creek) endowing those lucky enough to witness the creek and Pisgah timberline with pure serenity. Brown Mountain Beach Resort's main attraction is centered around its coveted Rock Pavilion and the pavilion's speakeasy bar below. From the surrounding gardens and sprawling deck, guests have a view and access of the Resort's well-kept sand beach, providing onlookers a spectacular view upstream as couples exchange their vows against the rambling vista of the creek, old wood forest, and hazy mountains. The staff of Brown Mountain Beach Resort is reminiscent of your favorite relatives you don't often get to visit. The proprietor of the resort, Ron, is a genuine soul who wants nothing more than to share the majesty, that is his little slice of heaven, with those who find it. Ron's daughter, Kelsey, who has begun to take the operational reigns of the resort, mirrors her father's confidence, work ethic, and honest personality. Her and Ron's shared vision being evident in the continuing improvements to the resort, which were made in the year between our reservation being set and the wedding weekend itself. Friday, our guests began to arrive, as my wife and I decorated for the coming celebration. The check-in process was relatively laissez-faire and to each their own, as our guests trickled in throughout the day. That evening, BMBR prepared a delightful supper of wood-fired pizza, as our guests and ourselves all enjoyed one another's company. We were served beer and wine by the A+ staff of ____, hired out by BMBR. The revelry continued well into the evening as guests were able to come and go at their leisure. Saturday was filled with food and fun in the sun (and some nursing of hangovers) as our guests were left to their own devices. Some fished and kayaked while others went on hikes, some helped my wife and I tie together some final decorating details, while others enjoyed being outside, away from cell phone service with an endless supply of spirits. Our ceremony was everything we could have dreamt of and more, the weather cooperated for our outdoor ceremony on the beach, in the mountains (how spectacular is that?). Our vendors, who were primarily recommended by BMBR, all worked in perfect harmony, and the evening's festivities went off without a hitch. Our reception was held in the Rock Pavilion, followed by cocktails and live entertainment in the speakeasy. Our celebration carried well into the night, ending on the beach under the stars, sharing stories and smoking cigars. In summation, the weekend was absolute perfection, especially given this being a "destination wedding" for most of our guests, my heart hums with happiness just reflecting on it all. Sunday check out was late enough for a leisurely pace, following breakfast in the Rock Pavilion. Our guests, well-fed and thoroughly tuckered out after a weekend of matrimonial celebration, went along their merry way, and we followed right behind. All told, BMBR was the perfect location for our wedding, my wife even declared so in her vows. While the rural site is not the setting for everyone's tastes and vision for their wedding, BMBR knows what they have and shares it with pride and grace not found with corporate venues and larger establishments. Just as with any event which spans many days involving a multitude of people, hiccups happened, but where adeptly overcame and managed. My wife and I, while we are joyous to be done with the preparation and planning of the event, have exchanged a piece of our heart and soul with the McDaniel family, who so graciously share their little corner of the world with love and care. A gigantic thank you to all those at Brown Mountain Beach Resort, involved in making such an outstanding weekend and special day, everything it should be and more.

I would define it as "Sophisticated Simplicity". I was staying here for a personal getaway and was assigned to a beautiful room with a separate sitting room, a gorgeous bathroom, and a zen bedroom. The decor was lovely, stylish and tasteful. The staff was professional and helpful. It was quiet and relaxing and only a short walk away from the town center, perfect location! I first stayed here back in 2022 after my GPS took me on a wild, scenic detour rather than the interstate, and the property instantly made my permanent return list. I have stayed here many times since that initial visit, including two times in the past month alone, so it was definitely time to update my review! This is a newer, beautifully maintained Fairfield property, though the room rates do tend to run a bit high. It could just be that I happen to visit when they have a high volume of bookings, as my most recent trip had three wedding parties staying on-site at once. The staff here are absolutely amazing. Back during my first stay, I noticed some of the employees communicate in ASL. While I do not know much American Sign Language myself, I think it is wonderful that the employees know this language and that management values offering that accessibility to guests. On my recent trips, the front desk team even warmly welcomed me back upon arrival! I was given two awesome room upgrades during my past two visits; the last room featured five windows and a ton of beautiful natural light. The rooms always provide the perfect layout to relax, a great selection of cable channels, and excellent Wi-Fi. Logistically, the hotel features a large, well-lit parking lot, two elevators, a small outside swimming pool, and a fitness room. The breakfast area in the morning is nice and remains far above other Fairfield Inns I have stayed at, offering a good variety of hot and cold items from eggs and bacon to oatmeal, breads, cereals and waffles. I like the selection of toppings for the oatmeal and waffles. The breakfast staff does an excellent job of replenishing everything as needed. The hotel still has Pepsi products and hasn't fully transitioned to Coca-Cola, but I did find a Sprite in the Market, so that is a start, and maybe next time I can get a Coke. It is a reliable, high-quality favorite that continues to hit a five-star benchmark!
