The first game went fine, but halfway through our second game, an employee named Mary approached our lane and rudely demanded to know why I was using the disabled/child bowling ramp and a 7-pound bowling ball. I have an old wrist injury from high school that makes it difficult and painful for me to bowl without accommodations. When I tried to explain this, Mary became argumentative and continued to challenge my explanation rather than simply accepting it. The interaction was uncomfortable and completely ruined the mood of our outing. What made the situation even more frustrating was that there were no children waiting to use the ramp, and there was another ramp available in the arcade area. There was no shortage of equipment, so there was no reason for me to be questioned in the first place. As someone working in hospitality, I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and respect I received as a paying customer. Disabilities and injuries are not always visible, and customers should not be made to justify their need for accessibility equipment in front of others. The bowling nights were supposed to be social events but it was at times very difficult to hear the people we were trying to chat with (and I'm pretty sure my watch gave me at least one "it's too loud and that's bad for your ears" warning). I'd enjoy that volume way more if we were there to dance. I'm more comfortable in the restaurant so it's on our list of options when planning to go out for breakfast or dinner. They usually have some good beer options (menu available on untappd) and I've enjoyed their cocktails and mocktails. They do a good job with Bloody Mary garnishes. The downsides: - Take-out sometimes takes a super long time (even if you order online well in advance). - They recently took steak off their menu. We were bummed because it's one of the easiest things to get for my husband (food allergies) and on our most recent visit the whole reason we came was because a friend wanted steak (and eggs). - When you order fish & chips they normally ask which side you'd like and I usually pick coleslaw. This means I'm expecting fish & chips with coleslaw. What they deliver instead is fish & coleslaw.
