Great course friendly staff love the free ice cold water in the coolers and nice to see dogs are welcome!

We golfed here in August 2022, the green fee comes with a bucket of driving range balls, so come early and practice. NO BEGINNING NO END The fairways leading up to the putting greens were manicured so short that you couldn't tell where the fairway ended and the putting green began. That was the first time I've ever played on a course like that. The greens were undulating and kind of crazy, so you need to be very precise with your shots or the ball will roll all the way to the next fairway since there's no rough to stop it. Also, look at the GPS as you approach, one of the holes I completely aimed for the wrong place where I thought the green was. Stay out of the bunkers. They're kind of hard and reddish. I guess it's far away from the beach, no sand. Overall a fun course, we didn't see any wildlife and since we played on a weekday, there weren't that many people ahead or behind of us. NO TREES There aren't any trees here, so there is no shade on this course and you're in the middle of what looks like wheat fields (?), not vineyards, like the name would suggest. The cart has GPS and tells you (and everyone else on the course, with the loud beeping) when you are being naughty and getting too close to the greens or when you are supposed to stay on cart path (par 3). NO BEVERAGE CART! There was no beverage cart when we played, maybe it was too early, but we were hoping the wine cart would come to us at the "Wine Valley Golf Club", but it did not. How are you guys going to make money if you don't sell overpriced drinks from the food cart to the golfers? Recommend: scheduling your wine tasting at Long Shadows after your round of golf since they're both on the same road, about 20 min away from downtown Walla Walla. Or maybe do the wine tasting first lol. read more

I have played multiple times over last 2-3 years. A favorite of mine. Played yesterday. Again had a great day. My one BIG complaint is the bunkers. All of the bunkers are filled with DIRT. Some of the bunkers are wet...MUD! A course of this caliber, especially links style should have decent SAND bunkers. read more

We came to wine valley for a guys golfing adventure and very much enjoyed ourselves! The course in just west of Walla Walla, quite literally built into an alfalfa field. The fairways are well manicured and the greens ran very true, though exceptionally fast on the windy day we played. The place runs about $144 a round for peak times and while the place is nice, we all felt it was a $70 course (the local rate) that played a bit nicer. It's not a particularly tough course if you stay close to fairways. Easier said than done however. There's decisive target golf to be played and stay out of the traps if possible- they're deep, treacherous and have dirt rather than sand within. I imagine it's because of the wind but it was the one spot things felt cheap. The holes are set up nice and the carts have legit GPS guidance for the course - a very nice touch. Decor utilized wine barrels and the pro shop was simple but with everything we needed. All in all, a solid spot for a nice golf filled afternoon. read more

Amazing experience! The staff was simply awesome! Unfortunate weather caused some unexpected rain the day we were scheduled to play. The staff called us before our tee time to let us know the greens were running wet and wanted to know if we would like to reschedule. We decided to keep our original tee time. While, yes, the greens were very wet, the course was absolutely beautiful. We had a fantastic time and will definitely will be back. read more

We were a party of 8 today. We made reservations for the course Burger and Brews. When we arrived we all purchased the special which is round of golf, a burger and a beer. No mention of a time range for getting the food was made.. we teed off on time. We finished 18 holes (FYI for a course this expensive and wants to be known as elite, there is not even a drink cart ) and were told that we could not get the burgers. They did not want to heat the grill back up, despite 8 adults had just paid over $700 to golf. No apology, no effort to correct the error or offer discount. This is unacceptable. Not okay. It will be hard to go back to this course with the lack of professionalism and customer service. read more

The course was very good overall, but a few things could have definitely been better, especially at this price . The main thing on course were the dirt bunkers. Nobody in our group thought that they fit the course. Sand would be much nicer, and playable. The dirt was just bad. The other glitch was the food. For a course at this price point the food and beverage is pretty basic. Unfortunately, two out of three of us got rare hamburgers so my back nine was ruined as I dealt with a stomach that was trying to revolt. Everyone was friendly and the greens were crazy fast. Fix the bunkers and the f and b and this place would be amazing. read more

We've golfed WV multiple times and finally getting to the review. Excellent course. Fairways are always immaculate and the greens roll - and roll - and roll. You can't relax for a minute on this course. The design has bunkers where you least want them but if you plot your shots you are rewarded. Great staff - always make you feel welcome. read more

Just got done playing there two days in a row. Very friendly and helpful pro shop staff. Nice carts with GPS. Pretty straightforward course with wide fairways... waste areas/bunkers are frequently in play and are very challenging when you get in them. But all the action starts on the crazy fast and undulating greens...lots of 3 putts built in. This track makes you do that "course management" thing. All in all, a great golf experience and am looking forward to playing it again. read more

Pristine golf course in the middle of wine country. Just do not hit into the sand traps; if you do, you're gonna have a bad time. Greens were running between a 10-11 on the stimp and were super undulated...good thing I am a gosh darn good putter! Shot a 67 from the gold tees (not the course record, but maybe next time). Also, great beer selections for a good price. Pro's are super cool. Make sure you dress nice. GPS on carts. Range balls included. And when you're done?? Wineries!!! read more

This is a lovely course with incredible greens. Definitely worth playing, but don't make any plans afterward that you expect to keep. If Wine Valley plans to keep their status as one of the best, pace of play must be better regulated. Have fun! read more

I made Tee time the day governor opened golf .... I specifically asked the price ofThe a round of golf. I was told that it would be $84. I told the person who answered the phone that we were coming from Spokane. I also told the gentleman that we have golfed there a couple times this year and really love the course. When we got there to pay, the guy told me it was $165 per person. I asked why it was double what I was quoted less than a week ago. The gentleman told me that $84 was the local rate, I told him, I called a week ago and was quoted $84.... he ended up giving me a $60 discount for our rounds, I was paying for myself and my buddy. I wouldn't be so upset over $165 a round, why I am upset is I was quoted half of that and drove 2 1/2 hours to play golf. On the receipt it says Covid- prime rate. Attached you'll see the picture of a cigarette butt in the golf cart they rented me. The cigarette was there when I got there, in this era of everything needs to be clean and sanitized I find it hard to believe that this cart was sanitized prior to me getting into it. When the receipt says covid and the shop said they were very corona virus aware, and I get into a cart with a cigarette butt is unacceptable. I was there Wednesday May 6th. I can't say I'll ever go back with the experience we had even though the course was in phenomenal shape despite the weather. read more

Absolutely beautiful. Windmills in the distance. This place is really coming together. Just added a new "wedding venue" large spacious area with tons of options. Tables chairs, bathrooms, dance floor, bar area, all included in the base rental fee. That was a huge perk for me. I find most places have a fee then tack in every little trinket you're going to need. Katie walked me around and gave me some great ideas on how others have done events. Huge help thanks Katie! Oh yeah almost forgot when rented you can stay all the way till 1:00 AM! Most places in town and noise codes and require you to slow things down between 9-10. Are you kidding me?! Who is Walla Walla stops partying at 9-10? I was informed that next year a new club house will be added. So expect and update. read more

We had a group of eight guys and played the course five times over the labor day weekend. The course is set in the middle of an agricultural area so it's surrounded by alfalfa(?) fields - no trees. The fairways are generously wide but tight and fast. The greens are even faster, some of the most challenging around but a ton of fun. As much as we enjoyed the course, the staff were even better. Everyone one of them - groundskeepers, cart crew, the pro and the restaurant staff were helpful, accommodating and very friendly. We do trips like this every year and this is by far the best group of staff we've experienced. Thank you! read more

Wine Valley is a terrific course. Somewhat like playing in Scotland without the plane ride and rain! The course is beautiful and can be enjoyed by all levels of players. I'm a scratch player, but played with two higher handicap players and we all had an enjoyable round. Ample room off the tee, challenging second shots. Greens firm and fast. The bunker are very unique (and penal). The design incorporates a very natural appearance. Had the Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato (BLAT) for lunch and it was outstanding. The proshop staff friendly and accommodating..... My expectations were high, but exceeded in every way. A MUST PLAY! read more

This review is regarding their Pavilion. My husband and I got married at the Wine Valley Golf Club's Pavilion this July. We were very excited that we were able to reserve a date since we had heard great things about this location. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. We were treated with disdain by their PGA Director of Golf and Food and Beverage Director. We were completely disappointed with their lack of adequate communication, clear transparency, and respectable professionalism. WVGC failed to provide timely communication with us through emails. We did not have the privilege of conducting majority of the questions or concerns in person, so we relied heavily on communicating through phone or email. This was especially frustrating when WVGC representatives took months to respond through email. We asked them early on to provide a menu of their drinks, which they stated they would have one early January, but we never received it. In addition, we asked them to provide an invoice of the expenses to make the necessary payments prior to the date, but we did not receive the invoice until after the wedding once charges were already made. Another thing that WVGC failed to provide was clear transparency. Since they struggled to communicate by email, we needed to have follow-up conversations with them over the phone. In one conversation, the F&B Director provided a quote for the beverages that we selected in March. When I called back in April to make the payment, she denied ever providing that quote and changed the prices. In another instance, the PGA Director had the audacity to threaten us the morning of the wedding that we were not going to be able to serve food because he still did not have the catering license. This ensued unnecessary panic and stress for the groom as he and the groomsmen frantically began calling other locations to figure out this situation. When in fact the business license from the accredited caterers was already sent earlier that week. Nowhere in their contract did it state that we needed to provide a physical copy of a catering license. In their contract it only stated, "any outside caterer must be licensed and insured." A requirement that was met by our amazing caterers, Las Chiquillas Restaurant. Lastly, our attitude towards WVCG was tainted due to their unprofessionalism. Aside from their lack of proper communication and transparency, we did not appreciate the attitude from the F&B Director. Every time we spoke on the phone with her, she came off rude and dismissive towards us. Planning a wedding is already stressful as it is, so having some guidance and patience from her would have been greatly appreciated. Ultimately, I do want to encourage the venue and each of its staff to do some honest introspection, so they don't repeat the incidents stated above with another client in the future. read more

I love this place, great links course- less the ocean-' always well cared for, great staff, very nice well run snack and beverage bar, practice area and putting green reflective of course conditions, well situated course restroom. Tee to green very playable but as all true links course, putting- bunkers and green side chipping can eat you alive, greens are huge. Went to Scotland last year, a must play for anyone heading over there or the Bandon courses. Try it, an awesome experience although it can be humbling for your putting game read more

I went to Wine Valley Golf Course to golf this weekend with a few friends. The golf course was great. Tough times were had on the green. Enough to drive a person insane. But it was a great time. The only 2 knocks I would give this course is: 1. The food at this place was horrible. The young guy who cooks obviously did not know what he was doing. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. You can't go too wrong with preparing this but he did. Chicken was over-cooked to the point it should have been renamed to thick piece of leather. Lettuce was wilted like it was rotten. Let's just say it went straight into the garbage. My buddy ordered a simple burger as well and was immensely over seasoned, making it inedible. 2. Another recommendation is you should have a drink cart person drive the course. It was 90+ degrees and didn't see a single drink cart at all. Someone could pass out from heat exhaustion with the weather being as hot as it normally is in Walla Walla. There were water coolers but half of them were empty. I give it 4 stars because of the 2 issues I had there. Let me make this clear. There was nothing wrong with the golf portion of the experience but the food was too terrible for me to ignore. Sometimes a good meal after a game makes the experience that much better. Hopefully that gets corrected. read more

Really nice course. Easy fairways to hit fairly wide but it was a wheat field before golf, and still is, so if you hit there look out. Most not all of what they call bunkers are really waste areas so you can ground your club and take practice shots. The greens are another story. Large undulating, short grass around to putt from, huge breaks, don't hit in the wrong place, in other words a bitch! Worth the money to play because we are considered local. Easy 45-50 minute drive from Tri-Cities. Its a must to play. Give it a try. read more

5 stars if you pay local rates. Non local at $155+.. well.. I would be dropping this to 3.5 stars just because I compare that price to other quality courses around the Northwest. Wine Valley is truly a special golf experience. The course is carved out from wheat/alfalfa fields to create an old style links course. There are no homes, trees, and regular sand traps you see at traditional NW courses. On a sunny day you see the Blue Mountains and surrounding valley. Just gorgeous. Carts with GPS. You better be in tip top shape if you want to walk especially on a hot day. Fairways wide and open with multiple tees for all levels of play. This place is all about the greens and course management. The greens are large, fast and not flat. You hit the wrong part of the green and 3 putts are everywhere. I am a 17 handicapper and actually had a four putt which I felt good about. The shots near the greens are exciting because you can putt onto the green from well off, try to chip with wedges or use mid irons. Really makes you think about what shot to use rather than just the normal play. The bunkers are not sand traps as you know them. They are natural and well placed and hearing "oh no" as a ball rolls in is a given. Talk about roll.. the ball rolls forever out here and the course makes you think about coming up short and rolling the ball on greens. Wine Valley is all about golf. They don't have a big clubhouse with restaurant and extensive menu. No big decks with cocktails. They have a snack bar and beer with a small seating area outside. Again, this is all about golf. I won't knock the course on amenities given Covid stuff going on. But hopeful in the future they load the carts with ice, bottled water and maybe throw in a towel, marker and repair tool for the price they charge. If you are within the local price range this is just a given to play as much as possible. Even at higher price it is a treat and highly recommended. Kudos to the staff who were wonderful to everyone in our group. Round was exactly 4 hours because we took our time to enjoy the experience and were never pushed or had to wait. We had a great time here. The course is beautiful and well-maintained (except for the bunkers, wasn't a fan of the muddy conditions). We liked that the course was walkable even though most seemed to be in carts. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and made the experience that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend making the trip out to Walla Walla to play at Wine Valley and to check out the wineries after. read more

I play this course as often as possible (we live 2+ hours away). As close to a true links experience as you will get from an inland course. A lot of roll in the fairways and true/fast greens - very little hidden hazzards, but, plenty of challenge - especially when the winds get up! Prices can sneak up there ($50 - $90 walking with carts available), but, if you are into the true golf experience, this course will not let you down. Very accomodating staff, simple menu (they grill your burger or chicken sammich!), and full compliment of adult bev's. Decent clubhouse with clothing, bags, balls, etc. While Wine Valley eventually will become a living community, that's still a few years off. Right now it's pure golf. Definately worth the trip to Walla Walla, or, bring your bags when you go that way to tour the amazing wineries. read more
