This store generally has wonderful staff that is so friendly & efficient but when I came in on a Sunday the 2 guys working did an exceptional job, Marco & Davin. They were 2 of the hardest workers I've seen yet did it all with a smile on their face & Marco especially went out of his way to talk personally to customers while Davin made drink and they were just a great team who set such a welcoming environment! read more

This location is bigger than it seems with two separate seating areas with people working on their laptops. I only came here to pick up a mobile order on this rainy day. I have been lucky enough to have a few gift cards to Starbucks and this one is on my way to work. I have been using the app which is super easy and fast. Today (12/20/19) I ordered from the parking lot and walked in and they greeted me by name and told me they were working on my order right now. Two of my three drinks were ready and they even gave me a "pup-a-ccino" for my doggie. It's basically a little cup of whippped cream and she loved it. Thank goodness my dog isn't lactose intolerant! LOL!! The barista/employee was very friendly and courteous. I will keep hitting up this spot until my gift cards run out. Then, I will only be able to treat myself from time to time. I want to like this location, truly. But EVERY SINGLE TIME I do a mobile order from these folks (4-8 min prep time) I'm stuck waiting 20+ minutes for a simplistic drink order. I'll sub for plant based milk but that's literally it. The three girls behind the counter, aside from one, are gossiping and laughing - having a grand ole' time -while the one poor soul with some semblance of a work ethic is busting her chops doing 69493 things at once. Clearly this store crumbles under pressure when there are more than 2 customers. Mind you, today IS a Friday and it's expected to be busier than usual, but besides the fun barista making my iced chai, everyone else seemed miserable and grumpy that they had to deal with more customers today. I actually got my cold drink in a short amount of time, but apparently simply placing a cold muffin in a marked bag with my name on it was just too much for anyone to handle. IF I'm not getting my pastry warmed up, how about just grabbing it when I pay you $10 for a non coffee drink and a muffin?! I said to the cashier, "Hey, Bo, may I get my pumpkin muffin?" He replied, "It should be down there." I stood at the end of the counter waiting after double checking all of the other pastry bags ready for other customers. I noticed one barista sweating like a factory worker while loudly shoveling in food items to the oven to be warmed up. She had an attitude so I didn't dare ask HER about my muffin. Finally, Bo noticed me standing there and asked me "Did you ask for that to be warmed up?" I replied, "No, I didn't. Just trying to get to work on time." He said with a great amount of snark, "You and everybody else!" What a professional and nice send off from someone who couldn't take 15 seconds to grab a cold muffin and place it in a bag for me when I ordered it. I had to come to this location because my typical Starbucks in this area was under construction. I was happy to find this location and learned it was only 2 miles away from my favorite one. I ordered here two different times a skinny vanilla latte made extra hot. The drink was the right temperature and tasty. I still felt the other location made my drink a little bit better. Not sure how that works. The parking lot is super busy so try to get a 10 min parking spot if you are leaving shortly after you get your drink. This location does serve booze! read more

Update: if I could remove a star, I would. Just tried to go there, watched a man walk out of the store, but as I walked up an employee locked the door. This store closed over half an hour earlier than the posted closing time. 3 other people walked up to go in as I walked back to my car, so clearly there wasn't a lack of customers at this time. Starbucks needs to either change their hours or actually stay open until the posted time. They're constantly out of food, even if the app says it's available, and the service SO SLOW. If you want to do a mobile order at this location place it *at least* 20 minutes in advance or you will be standing inside waiting for it to be ready. OR save yourself the headache and go just a few minutes down the road to the Starbucks at Bee Caves and Walsh Tarlton. Going to Starbucks every morning has been a ritual in my morning routine, i am usually greeted by the smiling faces of the Starbucks employees but today something changed. Sam, an employee I've seen before aggressively told me to move back and told me I was in the way of people getting their drinks. The really only interesting thing i saw was the posting outside that they were trying to acquire a liquor license. Should be interesting, i know starbucks is always trying to evolve their model. I visited this Starbucks while traveling for work for a few days in the Austin area. This Starbucks is in the Westlake Hills shopping plaza right off off Capital of Texas Highway. This is a fairly new location, as the old location of this Starbucks is now occupied by the Gold's Gym. This Starbucks is next to the GNC on the other side of the parking lot. Standard Starbucks in every sense: usual food and drink options and classic Starbucks barista training. I know that seems like an 'expected' thing... but it is what makes Starbucks: Starbucks--- brand consistency. The remarkable part about this location is that they have a LOT of seating. Several 4 top tables, and 2 tops, as well as some bar stools. This is the area over by the coffee bar and the pastry case (picture uploaded). They ALSO have a couch/lounge chair area up by the front of the store if you want to camp in a more comfortable social space. Certainly gets busy during the morning rush, but the team there handled it well. I arrived around 6:45am and got my coffee and breakfast sandwhich while I prepared for a client meeting that day. I stayed for about an hour and saw the team at work... pretty solid. No issues handling the high traffic they got. (People just pull off the highway, grab a coffee, and head back on their way to work.) You could easily see how people come here to get some work done, or even have a short meeting over coffee... the space allows for it. Well done. read more

This is a special Starbucks, It is a bit nicer insider, the decor with the brick wall is very cool. But what makes this Starbucks different from almost every other one in Austin is Clover. Clover is a unique machine that uses a special brewing process, different from drip, cold brew and espresso. It was developed by a small company in Seattle and quickly purchased by Starbucks. There are 5 clover locations in Austin. Two downtown, one in Cedar Park. You can find them using an option in the store finder on Starbucks.com Besides the machine, when you ask for Clover-brewed coffee, you get one of the premium coffees. Usually 'reserve', single origin, three or four choices. The result: a fantastic cup of coffee. If you love coffee, you must try it. Seriously. read more

I come here 2x week between dropping my daughter at swim practice and taking her to school and going to work. I like to try to get some work done. Headphones are mandatory to do so. The baristas loudly talk to each other. Really loudly. Consistently and constantly. And one of them whistles to every song. Loudly whistles. It's not busy enough this time of morning for them to have anything else to do, so they just converse. A lot. Loudly. As if customers aren't there. I like that Starbucks is open early on Memorial Day and with a smile. This location has plenty of seating, an upscale clientele skewing on the over 40 side, and a friendly staff. It used to be across the shopping center next to Barnes & Noble until that closed and it became a Gold's Gym. This new storefront feels newer and nicer though. They changed their teabags from Tazo to Teavana recently, and I think the Teavana actually tastes better plus it has those cool triangular bags. (Side note: I may be the only person who reviews Starbucks on tea instead of coffee). Sadly no drive through at this location, but it's only a few more months until Westlake Hills gets its first drive thru Starbucks a mile or so from here. You may have heard of me before when the barrista called my name and drink. I'm known as 2 pumps mocha 1 pump peppermint nonfat extra hot no foam no whip, aka Ms Obnoxious. Honestly, it's embarrassing. Esp when said barrista yells it out in a thinly veiled attempt to show off his/her mixology skillz while simultaneously provide entertainment to the amateurs who ordered their $5 drink without any customization. They point, laugh, whisper. Ya, you know who you are. When I waitressed at Mel's Diner, yes Mel's Diner, for years in high school the 32cent coffee came with unlimited refills which truckers sure appreciated. Making a complicated drink, for which I lay down a 5spot!, sure beats walking around endlessly with a coffee pot for 8 hours pouring free refills. We all have our crosses to bear--deal with it, barrista. I can't break my addiction. I know ppl throw around the word "crack" to explain any strong habit but there really should be an investigation into Bux. How else can I explain the compulsion to spend nearly $5 per day, almost every day? Don't believe me? Check out my Yelp check ins. I'm Duchess here. At a cost of $230. Worse yet, those 46 check ins are nowhere near the entirety of my patronage to this crack dealer's cohort dealers found on nearly every corner in some cities (Hello NYC and San Fran). Maybe they have a secret ingredient to get you hooked like tobacco companies were proven to have. Whatever it is, I've tried several times to stop coming here. I even admit that it's not the best coffee---Lola's is just down the street and serves better coffee. Don't tell anyone I said that or they might revoke my Starbucks Gold Card---I kid you not, I have one with "member since 2009" stamped on it, just under my name. They also keep trying to drive me away by raising their prices--one is coming to a Bux near you as I write this. The problem is as soon as I resolve to quit I remember that I don't like the taste of milk, esp non fat milk, I don't like calcium pills, and chocolate milk recently has been reported (by reputable source) to help repair muscle breakdown most during post-workout time. And I remember that I order only 2 pumps chocolate as opposed to 4, in order to keep being the hated least-fat woman during my weekly weight watchers meetings. My coffee infused minimally flavored peppermint chocolate nonfat milk is the only way I can accomplish getting the benefits without a downside other than cost. There are other redeeming qualities---many, in fact--- so I admit to being baffled by the trend to prove one's coolness by bashing Bux. They provide a different free iTunes pick each week, a safe and clean pitstop sometimes desperately needed when traveling, (mostly) consistent drinks around the globe, used coffee grounds for free to public for gardening, assistance to the community for civic and charitable causes, free wifi, squatting privileges without hassling you about minimum purchases, a loyalty perks program, comfortable seating, and they listen to customers' suggestions. In fact there is a dedicated online place called My Starbucks Idea for submitting suggestions. One of the more significant 2012 moves in the making includes more American sourcing. I have yet to see my Bux Trux idea come to fruition, though. Why should kids have all the fun with roaming neighborhood ice cream trucks---give me my roaming Bux Trux. Hey, I'm sure that the GENIUS little green piece of plastic aka splash stick was once mocked too, but sometimes that little stick is the only thing between a presentable me and a chocolate-coffee-color-stained-shirt me, or worse (remember I order extra hot, and we've all learned what extra hot coffee can do to a girl). In the interest of full and fair review---parking here sucks. There is plenty of it, but you, as post-driver-and-now-pedestrian must cross through the path of traffic by playing frogger to reach the entrance of Bux. Good luck with that. read more

Holy moly. 25 minutes wait for a chai tea. Not even joking.. They had 3 drinks in front of me. Had to redo 2 of them. When one of the girls behind the counter noticed that one of the drinks she made was not hot she had every single person come and feel the cup.. like seriously? Yes, the cup is not hot. You do not need a safety meeting about it. Also the music was loud no one could hear when you said any of our names so I'm pretty sure my drink sat there for 5 extra mins.. we can't all huddle up at the counter and read the cups with COVID. This is the best Starbucks EVER. I've never had a bad drink there. I've never had a wrong drink there. I've been there at least 100 times this year i'm sure, if not 200. Every person there is exceedingly nice without sacrificing efficiency. This place is a well-oiled machine and it is hoppin' always. LOVE. This Starbucks. I have my favorite flavors per the season, per the weather, per how I'm feeling when my feet hit the floor each morning. No matter the shoes I'm wearing or what position or style my hair has fallen into, I am greeted by name. Cheerfully, or even with just a smile, but that works for me. I'm finally recognizing the baristas, but I don't know their names. They don't care, they ask how my week is going, how work is, whatever else they come up with, just being friendly. It's great, which coming from me is a compliment because at 7am all I can think about is the pile of work waiting for me and it makes me a little cranky. Or feisty, as my coworker calls me. The patio is great, right on the street that's conveniently quiet and easy to navigate in and out to the highway. I'll sit and read in the afternoon and others' conversations are carried away in the Austin breeze. BONUS: It's connected to Barnes and Noble so it smells like books and I can drift in and out if the desire overcomes me. read more

Other than the (west lake?) high schoolers here at random times of the day ordering skinny vanilla fraps (why aren't you in school? I remember being in school at 8am/10am/3pm on weekdays....), this is a great location. The baristas remember you after roughly two trips, there's plenty of room to sit/study/read/talk, it's clean, and they're quick. I'm always surprised how quick my drink come up compared to the one by my house that takes 10 minutes to make two lattes and still gets caramel on the side where you put your thumb *sigh*. One of the better features is the outdoor seating as they have a great patio. B&N closed so no more books, but still good. But oh how I wish a starbucks around here had a drive through!!! I work in the area and frequent this location. I never really have that great of an experience, but nothing that warrants a yelp review. More times than not I encounter one barista that is miserable to deal with! Jen is never nice, rude to customers, and always seems like she is annoyed to be at work. Today was my tipping point with her and I am so frustrated by the lack of management intervention in her bad attitude. This is my favorite Starbucks. It has a variety of seating arrangements, which makes it great for relaxed reading, studying, or meeting with friends. This location shares a shopping square with so many places I go to on a daily basis (HEB, Gold's Gym) to name a few, which makes it extremely convenient.
