I love Starbucks until today. I always order iced chi with 7 pumps of chi and nonfat milk. I love the smell of coffee but cannot stand the taste of coffee. Today was the third time in the last six months I received iced coffee. I alway taste my drink before I drive away because of this. Today I thought it looked really dark and took a sip and alway threw up. All day I could taste the coffee even after lunch. At this point I don't want any chi tea because of the taste of coffee. I only drank about 1/4 of my drink today. I very seldom see the same person more than 3or 4 times. They are always sorry and replace my drink. If you're driving from east to west on Hwy 71/290, getting to this location is a HUGE pain. And should you be craving Starbucks enough to pull that off, when you leave and have to head west again, you'll find that you can't--you'll have to drive east, back to William Cannon, and reroute yourself from there. You'll basically spend about 20 minutes of your time getting in and out. Now, if you're driving from west to east, you're golden. Getting in and out is a cakewalk. read more

Still my favorite Starbucks in town, but there is another coffee spot that tops my list. The staff has always be friendly and the place very clean except when some customer that is a slob just leaves without telling about a mess they made in the bathroom or just makes a mess on a table. That takes away from coffee making speed of course. I use the mobile app and walk in and my coffee is always ready. I don't use the drive through as it drives me crazy sitting in line while a car full of people comes up with changing orders. Park the car, stretch the legs, walk in and grab your coffee and say "howdy" as you walk out to someone who is sitting there using the place as an office for the whole day. read more

The Fabulous - - Katrina, Michael and Brian are all here - YAY, friendly faces. - Katrina was there to greet me today, which made it feel less like being a stranger. The Good - - They have the ovens to make hot breakfast sandwiches - They have a Drive Through - Free Wi-Fi - Large lounge area including a conference table - New building The not so good - - They have a Drive Through... so cafe service feels rushed and you don't get the same interaction you get in this store than you do in the store that is a stand alone cafe. The drive through action brings an impersonal feeling to the counter service. I know Mc Donalds is trying to compete with Starbucks, but Starbucks cannot be Mc Starbucks. - Most of the parking spaces are situated to where you have to walk in from the patio, I walked in through a cloud of an employee's smoke (YUK) - Automation stickers on the cups feel less personal - I miss the markers and smiley faces - This is literally the hardest location to get to, if you are headed west on 290, you have to go through the light at the "Y" and hang a u-turn... and for some reason, drivers on 290 are not nice about letting you into traffic... and there is always traffic. --------------------------------------------- The verdict, I will have to give this a few more visits to have a proper review. It was good Katrina was there, and I did not have to call my drink order, but I still need the feel of cheers, and today, I was just a person getting coffee to all but Katrina. I visited this location in early April and was disappointed to find they removed the large laptop friendly tables that were always filled with busy students and professionals. They switched to the small circular tables that scream please don't sit here too long. While I like this Starbucks because it's the respite you need before taking on the Y in Oak Hill (Good God with the traffic!), it only seems big and roomy. The construction of the main cafe space is taken over too much by one long community table and one circular area of now really worn furniture. If you are unlucky enough to sit at the "two tops" you will have to go outside to change you mind. Cramped, uncomfortable, and butting up against the milk station, this space is a great one to meet people for day time meetings, but not a good one to execute those meetings unless you are sitting outside (wind, heat, dust) or at the community table (usually taken). And what of the coffee? Well, it's Starbucks - burned and expensive. Just as you like it. read more

Be careful when mobile ordering here. I always mobile order because I don't have time to wait in the drive thru or in the store in the mornings. I have gotten many bagels not toasted, even a few without cream cheese. I'll take responsibility for that as I should check before I leave. Not a huge deal. These last two times however I have had items literally stolen from the mobile order spot. Mind you this was a Saturday and a Sunday, so not peak times for them. I waited for ten minutes for a second part of my order and it never came even though my coffee was on the counter when I got there. I had to leave for work so I just left. Today when I got there again one thing was there and the second was not. Waited, and finally asked if they had gotten my other order started. The gal working said someone must have taken it. I understand that mistakes can happen but to happen twice at that same place two days in a row? I wouldn't be surprised if people just wait around there and steal mobile orders. Pretty good gig. I recommend going to the one in Bee Cave off 71 if you can. They keep their mobile orders behind the counter and hand them to you when you say your name and tell them what you got. I get that this isn't Starbucks' fault but maybe have a better procedure so this doesn't happen so often. read more

Pros - clean - small space but seating well-designed - drivethru - small outdoor patio - large bathrooms Cons - hard to find - no street level sign - early morning staff is LOUD. Between customers, they hang out laughing and talking with each other A LOT. They are way louder than any other Starbucks I've been to and any customers, all of whom talk at a reasonable volume. They shout to each other across the large service area behind the counter. One has a laugh that cuts like a knife and startled me it's so loud. I have noise canceling headphones playing music but I still can't focus for all their chatter and laughing. I get talking to coworkers, but this is 4-5 people carrying on loud conversations with no regard for customers. This location is much closer to my home than any other Starbucks so I'd really prefer to go here, but I won't be back, not unless Starbucks steps in to work with the staff on their lack of customer service. read more

In the latest Starbucks Summer Game I needed to stop at a different location. This store is located directly in the path of the notorious Oak Hill Y intersection with difficulty in getting in and out of this place. But was determined to get here. As I drive up the steep hill I could not figure where the entrance was and drive around it. But I think I figured it out and parked. There was no other vehicle parked except a work truck. I found the door and saw the least busiest Starbucks of all. Only I person hiding in the corner and baristas just standing around talking to each other. One look bored and kept himself busy cleaning the floors. I usually have to order using the app even while in the store since I hate waiting in lines so I walked up and ordered my drink. And then had to remember how to pay using my phone. And waited sitting in some comfy chairs listening to piped in music from speakers in the ceiling. My drink was ready and stay a little while sitting the rare peaceful Starbucks. Finally another showed up wondering if they were even opened. 4 stars on the fact it is located in a bad place. I travel a lot for my job and I frequently go to Starbucks for morning coffee when I'm not at home. All employees at all Starbucks are different. Good, bad and so on. I have visited this location 4 mornings in a row. 3 different drive thru employees. I have to say at this location they are over the top friendly and professional. They are all in a good mood chatting with each other getting my order and very pleasant to me. If there were 10 stars I would give it. Starbucks drinks and food are the same at all locations. I'm seeing a lot of negativity in these comments and it seems like a lot of older "Karen's" who want everything perfect when the reality is that right now everywhere you go they will be short staffed. They write notes on the doors if they will close early, if the lobby is closed, etc. so you don't have to figure it out for yourself. The staff smile with their eyes because we have to wear masks but you can still feel it. They've hardly ever messed up on my drinks, and if they did that's ok because it's coffee and it still does the trick. I always tip them well because they don't HAVE to be there. They choose to. Even though it's not cool to admit, I do drink, and like, Starbucks. But only under certain conditions. I do enjoy the chai latte and the skinny vanilla soy latte on occasion. Also, I'm a fan of their seasonal coffees. The Peppermint Mocha I have to have at least annually. This particular Starbucks is located in an awful place. The Oakhill "Y" is so chaotic. I try and venture over there as rarely as possible. However, the baristas have always been very nice, and I've even hung out in the tiny space for a minute and did some surfing, which wasn't too bad. I would recommend this branch as a drive-thru option mostly though. As a side note: The quality of the coffee itself is not as high as some of our local places here in Austin, but they are charging the same or more. Branding is so powerful, isn't it? read more

Very difficult to get to if you're coming up 290 from downtown. Do not attempt to U-turn to get into the parking lot. Assuming a U-turn was fine, as it was not marked not to attempt that complete death move, I U-turned and just about died from fear trying to maneuver through the oncoming traffic. Bad planning. Put up a sign! Also, you have to go through the back neighborhood to get back on 290. So lame. Hate bad road planning. Not Starbuck's fault. Starbucks is just Starbucks, so they are always great in my book. read more

I went to Starbucks today and ordered what I order every.single.time. a venti caramel frap no whip. I get to the window and I see my drink with Whipped Cream - I politely smile and ask if I can please get the whip removed. And they remove it. Upon getting my drink handed to me I notice there was no caramel drizzle at all. So I ask, "Can I have some drizzle? I like the drizzle, just not the whip" Well I get it back a few seconds later and I see no drizzle, but at this point I didn't want to be THAT customer. So I begin sipping on my frap and I notice not only is it not icy, it does not taste at all like coffee! Trust me - I know what fraps are supposed to feel like in texture and I know what coffee tastes like. Anyway, as I keep sipping, I notice I am getting big blobs of drizzle in my straw and I look down and there is about an inch of caramel drizzle!!!! Of course it sank to the bottom because caramel is thicker than milk! I mean come on, when all you do is make coffee for a living, and a simple "vent,i caramel frap - no whip" is it that hard to forget to add some coffee and ice!?!?!?! Give me a break. If I did the soy-nonfat-iced-decaf-coffee-with-glitter-and-unicorns I would understand, but my order is simple! I could have probably made it with my eyes closed. One thing is for sure, I got my milk serving for the day and my caramel serving to last me a least 3 lifetimes. read more

I love the look and the location of this new Starbucks. I'm talking interior and exterior. It's so close to my place, the staff is super friendly here (especially the drive-thru folks I've noticed), and I can count on a great coffee cake slice if I so desire. This Starbucks is hard to find, the sign you see from the road is in front of a building under construction, which is really confusing. The actual building is to the right of the sign and obstructed by trees. I've only used the drive thru and am happy with the service and quality of the drinks.
