Did not like my experience here. This review is after 3 visits there…read more They do a good job with lattes. Once, I got regular drip coffee and asked for whole milk to add to it. That whole milk was bad, I told them, they thought maybe it's just me, they gave me the same whole milk again but this time in a washed jug, however it still tasted wrong. I'm not sure if anyone else complained about it to them that day, but the customers at another table felt the same. They should really check the milk before making lattes out of it. Ambience wise, they really need to get the place sprayed with a pesticide or something, it has a lot of bugs, little flies and mosquitoes, it could also be because of the big indoor plants. But every time I go there and sit, it makes me feel itchy. Lastly, they shouldn't be too sensitive if someone does not give a tip, one of my friends did not tip them, and they made his hot latte and didn't bother to call out his name, and it went cold.

Unfortunately, it was almost pure white like milk, tasted synthetic, and neither I nor my sister could enjoy it. I kindly asked if it could be remade or replaced with something else, but the staff declined and told me in a very condescending way I'd need to pay again if I wanted a different drink. Which is fine, a simple apology would have also worked. That was disappointing on its own, especially since this has been one of my favorite coffee shops and I've brought plenty of friends, neighbors, and even visiting family here to support the business. What truly drops this review to one star, however, was the shocking response I received from one of the employees. She cussed me out, yelled, flipped me off, threatened to call the cops on me, and screamed for me to never come back--all while I had my baby with me. I've never experienced such unprofessional treatment from a business. I can only hope the owner reviews the cameras from this incident and takes the matter seriously. Sadly, I will no longer be returning or recommending this café to others.

The Eleventh House seemed like the perfect stop for elevenses, because they are a coffee shop that also sells sandwiches (bagel sandwiches). The food menu consists of basically just bagels and bagel sandwiches, but that's fine, because The Eleventh House makes a great bagel sandwich. They also offer random little nibbly things, like hard-boiled eggs with dijon mustard, kimchi, citrus slices and "half of an avocado with a crazy amount of Old Bay," which I'm going to have to try to make at home sometime. Some of their sandwiches have exciting things in them, like pickled daikon, burnt pimento cheese (why does that sound so appealing?) and onion jam. I opted to keep my lunch rooted in the quotidian, so I got a Ranch BLT (bacon, iceberg lettuce, tomato, avocado, ranch seasoning, Kewpie mayonnaise) and the Turkey & Havarti, which is mostly just that. Maybe my choices were a little basic, but sometimes the classics are where it's at. These sandwiches were very tasty! The coffee shop / restaurant feels very open, with natural light coming through a skylight window and plants everywhere. It's a nice place to sit and chill for a while. When you dine in, they give you a number on a tarot card to place at your table. My tarot card was the Three of Wands, which I've learned represents the threshold of adventure, a call to leave your comfort zone to seek enlightenment in the world. (And, perhaps, an invitation to live deliciously?) How appropriate.

You guys just don't care about loyalty or offering that tiny penny of connection to your customers? Doesn't quite help the big upcharge to swap out non-dairy milk - please stop that, why does Vienna offer soy milk at no extra cost while serving a double shot for the same price as your single? Your menu is already overpriced, hounding dairy sensitives with extra cost on top of the overpriced basic espresso is mean. That leads right into the main problem: going for a larger size only gets you more milk, not more syrup or coffee! This is classic price gouging and corporate greed at its finest. What a scam! I have been to dozens of coffee spots over the past years all over, look at my reviews, discovered many amazing places from here to San Francisco, Atlanta, Denver, Knoxville, and more! But not one of them has the trashy mindset, disregarding humble morels, and ignoring ethics of sizing, prices, while ripping us off. There is no apology or fix. I mentioned these issues years ago on the main Greyhouse shop right down the road to receive just some manager's reply "your comments have been heard." Yet that's not what I wrote for was it, I am not just spouting off drama to be heard or offer my tart opinion to whoever. Ever since my buddy and I were ripped off by Hertz in San Diego nearly six years ago, I began my Google Local Guide and Yelp escapades in order to provide free insight, enjoyment, humor, commentary and most importantly address professional courtesies that businesses can best themselves by. I've noticed of all places Greyhouse proves itself complete opposite ethical and basic consumer centric sentiments. There is no other place I've been to in over 3,000 restaurants, stores, and even gas stations that gets my blood boiling like the price gouging and disregard for espresso standards. Not to mention there isn't that much for quality here, The Eleventh House has been and still is the official standard in the area for bean counters, according to all my coffee snobs. Sacred Grounds, Fuel, Star City, Indie Coffee Roasters, and even Vienna are superior across the board for consistency, rewards, pricing, variety, and even just accessible parking and space. I anticipate I'll get another curious response from management for this but really want to see no reply until I can come here and enjoy Greyhouse like any other typical java joint I've been to and want to try again and again.

I don't think this location serves crepes and other food items unlike the bigger location, which is fine as a drink is enough for my study needs. I came in the morning to order a latte and finish some work, and the environment was so comforting. The ambience made me calm and focused, perfect for a study space. It was quite early so not many people were inside, which was nice as it made it wasy to find seating. I ordered the London Fog Latte Iced (it was so hot this morning) in regular size. The staff were friendly and my drink was made instantly! Such fast service :) I found a table to sit and study at. My latte was SO DELICIOUS!! I love how I could really taste the tea flavor, unlike other places that drown out the tea with lots of milk. The London Fog was silky and rich with the early grey tea flavor. Totally will come back again to try the other drinks.
