From their handcrafted syrups, to their well thought-out recipes, every single item on their menu is, in its own way, an absolute carnival to the senses. The entire staff works together flawlessly, and really create the overall eccentric vibe you won't be able to help but fall in love with. There's a variety of different types of seating and different lighting, and the music will never disappoint. They typically have a collection going for different important causes, sometimes local, sometimes global, and actively provide a safe space for all. really interesting place very Greenwich Village NYC in the 1970s .I enjoyed the ambience . I had the first very good bagel I've had in the last eight years in Indiana. It was delicious. I had a sesame bagel with lox and cucumber and capers and cream cheese it was delicious. I ate every single bite with relish. My husband had a BLT on sourdough with avocado and something else. I don't know what and he didn't know, but it was really good and he enjoyed every bite too. the coffee is excellent. The people are nice. It's a very young crowd, very college age and although I am i'm much older woman. I felt perfectly comfortable. Don't be intimidated because it's not your usual Indiana experience. This is an artsy coffee, bagel and sandwich shop across from the historic courthouse in Lafayette. We stopped in for an early lunch. The menu is at the coffee bar and that's where you order. There is a mix of table and lounge seating along the long narrow dining room. Students and other academics work at laptops and discuss heady topics. The walls are filled with modern and kitschy art. The staff is busy making specialty coffees but a clerk stops to give us the menu. Food comes out quickly. I order a bowl of the wild rice and mushroom soup. The soup is house made, thick and hearty. My husband and I share a Thai Tuna on a whole wheat bagel. The bagels are made in Bloomington. The tuna is interesting with Thai spices. I love the pickled onions and fresh cucumbers. The Broad Ripple chips are an odd blend of sweetly and spicy hot. There is limited street parking. The shop was full when we left. The sandwiches are great. read more

Decor in the dark place was kinda on the "I'm a sad art kid really trying to cheer myself up" side; seating was plentiful if a little on the crowded side when other customers decided to talk loudly. Order-at-the-counter/tip/bring-it-to-you service was pleasant enough but the ordering process could have been more efficient. It was fine, but there are many other places around that are great, so . . . well, there were lots of people in The Eleventh House, so maybe I'm just not their target demographic. read more

I stopped in for morning coffee and to check email. The coffee was good. They do bagels, but I did not see a menu posted up. There was probably one about. The vibe is great - tattoos, piercings, and whatever (trying to paint the picture). Nice to see in midwest Lafayette. The message of acceptance is all throughout. The shop was not filled with college kids (being so close to Purdue). It is also not the spot for a quick grab-n-go. The decor is a mish-mash of used tables, chairs, lights, pictures, things... The service was friendly and great, but it is on the slower side as they take their time with everyone. They brought my coffee to me in a mish-mash mug. The service and atmosphere here are excellent. Friendly staff, fast service, and cool art on walls - even in the restrooms! I ordered the BLT on an everything bagel. The sandwich was tasty and the bagel perfectly toasted. I tried an iced latte with miso caramel flavoring that tasted great but it was a small drink for the price. The price for my meal and drink is comparable to other local cafes but the sandwich/side and the drink were smaller for the $20 I spent (tip included). I might return here for a change of pace from my usual haunts, or not. read more

WOW. I have not been this excited to write a review for a coffee place in a long time! Everything was outstanding. Everything on the menu sounded so good it was hard to choose. I ended up going with a banana cold brew (amazing flavor) and a lox bagel on an everything bagel. This was unique as it had apple slices on it! It was outstanding! My friends ordered a goat cheese on a jalapeño bagel (blueberry, goat cheese, arugula) and we also had a spicy cortado along with an everything latte! Not one bad thing to say! The service is very quick and if I had to describe the vibes it would be modern grunge revival! I can't wait to come back. Just wish I lived a bit closer to Lafayette. read more

It's quiet without feeling sterile, and the ambiance feels like it's been designed with intention--peaceful, grounded, and warm. You can really feel the care behind this place. There was this soft spotlight hitting the table I was working at--it gave me that subtle "main character in a cozy indie film" feeling while I studied, which honestly just made the experience. They had the doors open that day, and a light breeze drifted through the space, carrying the fresh scent of rain. It was refreshing without being disruptive--just enough to make the air feel alive. I've never been a huge fan of the food they serve but the coffee is great. really the perfect little downtown hole in the wall type shop! Even without ordering, I felt like I belonged. That's rare. I got a hot chocolate here too which was delicious, and they were very kind to me when I sat at the bar. Very much enjoy the bagel sandwiches here but something has to be done regarding nearly all tables being taken up with one person at each, laptop open, no food and empty drink container. How long are people able to "hang out" at the expense of other customers not being able to eat while seated? It keeps us from coming there, as well as several others we know. I cannot express how much I LOVE this place. Been coming here for 4 years now and it's definitely my favorite local business in Lafayette. The coffee is ALWAYS made made with quality in mind and I have never been disappointed by the house lattes. You are paying for quality: in house syrups, locally sources ingredients/suppliers, and baristas that never compromise flavors and aesthetics. (All my photos are years apart) The atmosphere is very quirky and unique only to the owner and employees of the cafe. They also sometimes host or support local artists by displaying and selling their art, hosting art festivals at the beginning of every season, and raising funds for local charities. Finally, this place wouldn't be the amazing place it is without the owner and employees. They are all kind, funny, and make you feel welcome. Finally the new downtown spot is open instead of the bar that traded church for the stars and cards, mom and the grandparents won't be cringed out now! I do miss the easy parking lot, outdoor patio, and larger seating room but the entire atmosphere is now brighter, more inviting, and music has been balanced to enhance the excellent food and drinks. They had a short stall during opening weeks without food but the full menu and more is in play now! All the drinks and house crafted lattes are pure goodness, testimony to the virtues of house made syrups, high quality Tinker roasted beans, and well mixed lattes. I enjoy just everything from the main menu to seasonal and weekly creations. There's plenty to treat the high class black brew earl as well as those like me needing coffee as unlike coffee as possible. The recent Yule espresso egg nog was sublime. Another recent best has been the Mexican mocha, a rich and spicy winter win. Bagels continue to be excellent just like the previous three years, plenty of options and something just about for everyone, gluten and vegetarian, but am missing that soup, maybe the amazing Hungarian Mushroom can be imported from Black Sparrow please? Only issues I've noticed is no rewards program, no mobile order options even though they used to use the Joe App which was fantastic to get third party benefits and easy ordering, however all small potatoes considering The Eleventh House keeps on as my top local list. I was a little thrown off when I first arrived since I wasn't sure whether I was in the right place, but with a quick look around and some reassurance from the staff, I placed my order. I got a banana bread cold brew and classic lox bagel sandwich on an everything bagel. Banana Bread Cold Brew: Good, but I had trouble finishing it. It's one of those drinks that gets worse over time. Classic Lox Bagel Sandwich: Really good and made the trip worth it. The bagel was of good quality and they didn't skimp on any of the toppings. one of the coolest cafes i've been to. eleventh house is a huge coffee shop located in a dive bar. they have a unique variety of delicious lattes and cortados. i would HIGHLY recommend the cortado made with rose water and vanilla. the lox bagel is also delicious. it is made with cream cheese, cucumber, pickled onion, capers, and lox, which you can sub for avocado (highly recommend). all bagels are also served with a choice of fresh oranges/grapefruit or spicy potato chips. the service here was quick and friendly. the girl that took our order was extremely patient as we took some time to decide what to order. apparently they also serve pizza and turn into a bar at night? i will definitely check that out next time i'm in town!! read more

We stopped for coffee on our way out of town one morning. I got an iced mocha and my husband got a ginger cayenne latte. Oat milk was available which we were happy about. Both of our drinks were excellent. I enjoyed that my ifed drink was "shaken" like a cocktail. What a perfect way to make sure the chocolate is well mixed. Would definitely stop in again. Turns out that they use Tinker coffee beans which we were already huge fans of. The building is not marked as Eleventh House but the coffee shop is tucked inside of The Spot Tavern so don't miss it! I wish I could take a snapshot of flavors because I guarantee you haven't had lattes like these but I'm in a poetic mood so let me try to capture their essences -- actual flavors in parentheses. *"best is yet to come" (orange marmalade+clove) is like a sunrise but the kind that makes you want to jog around a small downtown and take random pics. *"las vegas past" (rose+pistachio) will make you question why you havent written songs for an irish indie band. *"good karma" (chinese 5 spice+mocha) conjures images of sitting down and reading the whole Harry Potter Series in french (and understanding it). In short I love everything I've had here and can't pick a favorite because moods often dictate my drinks. Check their menu on their website. What a great Surprise! We stayed at an air bnb around the corner and wanted real coffee not a Kcup or foldgers. Found this place and the menu looked perfect. Within walking distance and great ratings. We walked in and out because I thought it was a bar and we went to wrong spot. To our surprise it was the right spot. One side of sign said The spot the other side had right name. My sister and I laughed because I said wow this bar jumping early in the morning walked back in because it was the right location and someone said this is the coffee shop, everything is good. We decided to order bagel sandwiches and the coconut curry lentil soup as well and OMG. Delicious I also had The lox on jalapeño cheddar bagel with the lavender lemonade (better combo instead of coffee) sister had the good karma with oat milk (order one to go also) forgot what bagel she order. Oh had a Asiago bagel with onion chive cc to go. Sat inside instead of going back to the house, great atmosphere and staff were very friendly. Would definitely stop back if in Indiana again.
