This Starbucks is always so busy, especially in the mornings. I've come here a few other times simply because of it's proximity to my job. I ordered a green matcha latte this morning, and it took them a little longer than usual to get it ready. There were a lot of customers, and a line even started to form while I was waiting. I probably should have mobil ordered ahead of time, but oh well. The Cafe was also very noisy, just from the shear number of customers. There was really nowhere to sit, and I probably would not have stayed there for very long, just because of the commotion and noise. The match was good though! read more

Just really bummed about my drink - I'm staying in the hotel and came down to order a latte with vanilla and half & half, with an extra shot. It was $9.75 total because I was suckered into tipping $1, and the drink did not have vanilla, half and half, nor did it have an extra shot. I was given a plain latte and paid $10 for it. Came to DC for a hair appointment and decided to grab some Starbucks. Luckily, this one is right by the salon. It's pretty big, clean, and the staff are really nice. The only downfall about this location is that they are pretty slow. But the drinks tasted good and were made right. Not my go to location when I'm working in DC but occasionally I've stopped by here. Since there is another Sbux a bit closer to my office, I tend to go to that one much more often. Never had any issues here. Pre-covid times it seemed much busier than as of lately. It is inside a hotel so there's a steady flow. 9/10 times I pre-order via the mobile app and pick up. Terrible service. Ordered a soy latte because I have a milk allergy and when it came out I noticed it didn't say soy on the side. When I asked the barista if it was soy, she said like four times: "You didn't order soy so that's not my fault. I guess I'll remake it but you didn't say it." This is a solid Starbucks, with friendly staff despite the hordes of people that descend on the place daily. On the needs-improvement side, this Starbucks gets the things wrong that most Starbucks do: forgetting the topping on the Cordusio drink, using the wrong tea in the honey citrus mint tea (and not mentioning that until I ask). This Starbucks is located in The Marriot at Metro Center. When staying there I stopped off at this Starbucks multiple times. Everything else about this Starbucks is the same including the food and drinks options and seating. This Starbucks is on the smaller side as it can only hold around 25 people, but if you are staying in the hotel there is some seating options in the lobby. There are chargers and wifi available. As I stated before, the food options are the same here as all the other Starbucks. They had their usual variety of drinks here, their grab and go lunch/dinner boxes, their bakery goods and coffee. My bagel and cream cheese that I got a couple of times was consistently delicious, but my berry tea was a little watery. My biggest concern with this Starbucks is this staff. It is a real hit or miss here. For example, on my first day in town I was exploring the hotel and walked around the Starbucks. It was obviously closed as the drinks were locked up and all the food in the glass cover was gone, but the one lady cleaning everything up decided to start yelling at me. She screamed "We are closed!" with a nasty attitude. However, other than that one time I had a good experience with the staff. They were usually friendly and kept the lines moving fast. When checking out one staff member kindly wished me safe travels home. Altogether, this Starbucks is great, especially if you are staying at the hotel! read more

I just attended this starbucks in the hopes of the iced cloud macchiato being bestowed upon me as I need it to sustain my crippling addiction to egg whites. I was barbarically and BOMBASTICALLY bamboozled to learn that they were no longer serving them. In that moment I went into a fit of blind fury and anguish the likes of have been hitherto unseen since my mothers wig was snatched in childbirth, which led to me purchasing a cookie dough cake pop. I immediately gained 74.7 pounds all in my shoulders which gives me the appearance of a portabello mushroom. My husband has left me and has taken my brand new baby scooter with him. I was also fired from my job due to the inability to get through the front door with my morbidly obese shoulders. That cake pop ruined my life and it was the fault of this starbucks for not serving iced cloud macchiatos. The cake pop was delicious. read more

Small Starbucks but good service here. Not a lot of seating and located across from the Barnes and Nobles building, sort of. My go to is a iced caramel macchiato with soy. A little sweet but they make it good. Rather go here than the fake Starbucks in B&N! Don't go there for coffee at all! Good spot to just break open the laptop and work as well as people watch. I ducked in here one day when I needed to find a relatively quiet place to listen in on a work-related conference call. This store is on the first floor of the Marriott Hotel. It appeared to be a typical Starbucks in its layout and products. The seating area was decent. I don't think it's a real Starbucks; their point-of-sale system seemed different, and I didn't find the location in the app for order ahead service. The service was friendly and efficient. The platinum blonde barista messed up my order. I asked for a tall green tea frapp half-sweetened. She even repeated "half-sweetened" and nodded in acknowledgement, asked for my name, and... didn't write anything on the cup. My drink came out fully sweetened -- I can't really blame the guy who actually made it because she didn't mark the cup (how would he have known?). Also, she yanked the whipped cream can from him at the end and skimped on the whipped cream. The whipped cream is my favorite part of ordering frappuccinos, so that made me pretty sad. Also she didn't know that Lucky Dozen Rewards for Gold members can be used for any single item, including food items. She tried to tell me that it was only usable for drink purchases. It wasn't until she ran my bistro box through the register and the reward went through did she seem to accept that it didn't only apply for drinks. read more

Extremely friendly morning staff- especially the morning manager! I don't know his name, but he always remembers my order. Because I order a grande and have a venti reusable Starbucks cup, a lot of people give me a hard time about using it. (Just fill it up only part way?!? Why is this so hard?) The morning manager never hesitates to use my cup (and he usually fills it up pretty high). The only draw back is that they don't have a scanner for the Starbucks iphone app, but they always type it in manually. I am staying in the Marriott Metro Center in DC and thought I would run down for a sandwich and coffee. Store closes at 7pm but I arrived at 6:50pm. I know,I know it was 10 minutes but CSR said she had cleaned up and is not serving food anymore. Ok, I can hang with that but a bagel was in clear site in the glass counter. Irritating Well I walk in, wait in a line for about twelve minutes that should have been five and finally get to the counter and order. I ask for a certain loaf and wait five minutes before they tell me they don't have it. So I order a different kind. Meanwhile, another barista hands my sandwich to another person. This I find out later. I wait FIFTEEN minutes before they tell me they don't have the OTHER loaf I have reordered. At this point I am already ticked and order the first thing I see. They FINALLY get it to me and I sit down to eat and then realize: "Hey, I don't have my SANDWICH." The loaf was fine though I had to pick a new one every ten minutes. I stop by this Starbucks every morning to grab a cold brew - these guys are legit. It's the best Starbucks Ive ever been to - Hueng is excellent at keeping the line moving and getting customers their drinks quickly. It's in a Marriott so there's no telling what kind of customer flow there is on a day-to-day basis - sometimes theres no line, sometimes the line reaches all the way back to the reception desk, but I've never had to wait long for my coffee. All the employees know exactly what I want so I'm in and out in just a couple minutes flat every time. Compare this to the Starbucks just a couple blocks away, which is an absolute nightmare.
