I was in here on Saturday 12/14/24, around 2:30 in the afternoon. They were slammed! They looked short staffed and the line didn't stop! They were running out of supplies at every order. They didn't break a sweat. They were very apologetic and said they'd need to take a 20 minute break from taking orders to restock all of their supplies, make whipped cream, wash dishes, empty the trash. This team ROCKED IT!!! Some people in line, left. Some of us stayed , visited, played on their phones. This team continued to stay focused at their task at hand and pushed through!!! THEY WERE AWESOME!!! I AND MANY OTHERS IN LINE, WANTED TO TIP THEM. Tipping wasn't allowed here. These folks work hard under pressure & those of us that wanted to show our EXTRA appreciation, should be allowed to! there is one nice worker at this starbucks (i don't know her name but she is young and short and has dark hair) that always gives excellent service which is usually enough for me but after weird looks as if us customers were a burden on top of that they watched me walk in as the last customer and close the register. it's not personal but it's definitely a poor atmosphere, poor attitude and mid drinks quality because she is the only one who makes good drinks. read more

It's says it open online and yet it's never open. We have gone here many times and it has been open 1 time out of 13. The one time that it was open the food and drinks were great! The ambiance was very busy and crowded. The workers were pretty nice when it was open. Overall it had not been great but when it was open it was good. Seriously the worst. A few of the baristas mean well and try but the rest should be working at a movie theatre concession stand. The store and their uniforms are filthy and they struggle to get a basic drink correct - how hard is an iced coffee with espresso shots? Mind blowing. I was shocked when they allowed me to get a refill on my iced coffee the other day, but it was ruined by the fact I had to wait for literally EIGHT other lattes to be made before they poured from a pitcher over ice. They're not friendly, not efficient, and not skilled. It's just subpar on so many levels and now with the target one I avoid it at all costs, you should too. I'm surprised Starbucks allows them to use their name honestly. ** update their iced coffee is watered down, they do not use the same recipe as other Starbucks. FYI 2019 update - still the worst. In fact the manager told me the employees buy up all the popular cups before they go in the floor then sell them at a markup online. Not cool. And they still make drinks ass backwards. Terrible service these girls were so disrespectful weren't helping the new guy ,even after he messed up my order and put dairy in it then gave my friend my messed up order when she asked for a Carmel ribbon crunch , these workers were talking about fighting other co-Workers and I got a sharpie thrown at me from one of the ladies after I paid this girl had with brown and red hair. my coffee was as disgusting as those girls personality's. read more

I was visiting traverse city and stopped into Meijer for a starbucks. After reading all the horrible reviews I was worried but this starbucks was great!! I waited for less than 1 minute and my drink was out in 30 seconds and it was made perfectly!! The young girl working was so kind and we had a conversation. The man making my drink was also super kind and made my drink exactly how I asked. It was also very clean and there was great customer service:) read more

This is probably the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. The employees don't know the basics of the drinks, they question the drinks, tell you what you're ordering is "not in the Starbucks world" when I order it almost every day. I didn't know that the Marble Mocha Macchiato was such a hard drink to order. The staff is never friendly, and like to take an extreme amount of time when making the drinks, when it isn't even busy. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you're a diehard Starbucks drinker. Almost always is a disappointment. read more

Still the only location in TC. While this is my #1 coffee spot the service has recently suffered (Summer 2013) due to massive full staff replacement. I've been coming since the location first opened and have made many connections with the staff over those years. Now all of the staff are completely gone and have been replaced by first timers, mostly. The only senior staff at the moment are from other branches out of town and it's my understanding that they're only here part time before they move on. There may be one or two who have come back after being here originally years ago. I'm not sure. Come for the brand you know and expect to be patient as there are only a couple of staff who're proficient, quick, and knowledgeable. I'm biding my time until the new staff learn or get replaced yet again. Meijer's Management, why did you fire the entire staff over the summer (2013) and replace them with inexperienced one's? If not for two of the staff currently there I would be forced to switch locations for my java. I keep coming anxiously awaiting, ever patient, and supportive of my preferred brand. Perhaps a remodel to expand to count for one of the largest in-store sellers of Starbucks under the Meijer umbrella for the entire state? Or perhaps a full closure for one or more days for the sole purpose of significant training of all Staff. There are things you can do Meijer Management. read more

I live very close to this Starbucks location so that's the only reason I go there. Where do I start ok how about service the workers there are horrible especially this one girl I don't know her name hut every time I go there she's there ok so she always asks me if I want my coffee decaf and this happens every time if I wanted it decaf I would tell you is what I say in my head. Also the same lady asks me is I want 2 shots of espresso again if that's what I wanted I would tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now let's talk about location ok so the location isn't bad but since it's in a busy grocery store the Starbucks is always busy there's always a line out the entryway and the place is soooo small. Yes, it's true that this is the only Starbucks in Traverse City. And yes, it's in a Meijer. However, every time I've been, my coffee has been spectacular. (And my husband calls me a coffee nazi, as inappropriate as that is). ;-) I used to be a barista in my college days, so I realize Starbucks "takes the art away of coffee making". Sometimes I just need a latte when I need it, and this place is just the ticket. And, the staff has always been friendly with me. read more

Starbucks - No ones there - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Traverse City, Michigan

This location is inside Meijer grocery store on the left side. I asked the clerk if they redeemed birthday awards at this location. She confirmed they did. I then asked for my birthday drink. She plugged it in and said "You're all set". No asking for a name for the cup. No "Hey! Happy Birthday", and then I discovered she charged by Gold card for the drink instead of using the award. The actual store was clean and drink was fine. It feels like a staffing change is in order. read more

GPS'ed Starbucks in Traverse City when we arrived. Almost did not find it "inside" Meijer's!

This could be the worst Starbucks in the country. I cannot even begin to explain what goes on in this Starbucks. The staff is terrible having one person who doesn't now what there doing while eight people wait to get their coffee. You would expect them to have a full staff because it is the only location in town, but apparently it hasn't dawned on them that they need employees to run their business. When you are lucky enough to get your drink within thirty minutes more often than not the drink is made incorrect and you are forced to wait even longer. The seating area is unsanitary and most of the time there is food left over from other customers. If you are a Starbucks fan then you realize how many amazing pastries are sold at other Starbucks, and how terrible the pastries sold at our local store is. Other stores in this chain have new pastries every month while this one has had reduced fat pound cake and apple fritters for a decade. You can't expect a good review when you don't give us anything new to review. read more
