I like this Starbucks. My Dad lives up here now so I have visited the location a few times. The staff is pretty friendly. The inside is very cute and inviting. There is a lot of room to sit and relax if you want to work on a project or just chill with friends this location is a great spot. I used to come here several times a week (not as much time now!) and pretty much have always had a pleasant experience. For the most part, the staff is really friendly and upbeat-with the exception of one or two, who seem to hate life. Luckily though, I haven't seen them lately. Friendliness goes a long way! We did actually have a coffee where it tasted like nothing but steamed milk. Upon my mother going up to the register and asking them to remake the drink, the Barista gave her a lot of attitude and begrudgingly remade it. Not cool! I just picked up my black coffee from the Starbucks on 67 in Seymour and I needed to wipe down my laptop and one of the employees named Joseline was very helpful and she had given me a cloth so I can clean off my laptop and even wet it down for me so I could enjoy my coffee while viewing the stuff on my laptop without streaking. A few pleasant people working here but the place has some issues. I'm standing several minutes to place an order despite the fact they 5-6 people working. I get it: in-store customers now rank behind drive-through and mobile orders at all Starbucks. Regardless, I'm standing there, and with time to observe the place, it appeared to be infested with flies flying around the counter and drink area. So I left. The place has never struck me as the cleanest, and it'll be tough to go back there now. Starbucks as a whole seems to be getting dingy at many of their locations. read more

Walked in to Starbucks with no one ahead of me and 4 separate people waiting for their completedorders. I was waited on by a gentleman with no name tag. He stated that my order would be up soon. Approximately 18 minutes later, I asked the batista if my order was there. He said he was working on it now. Problem is, they made it iced when I asked for a hot drink. I told him I would just take the iced. For most of my time waiting, there were only two people behind the counter, and one of them was on the drive-through. The speed at which they were working was at a basic pace, not trying to keep up with the mobile and drive-through orders. I haven't been to this Starbucks in a long time due to similar working issues. I'm tired of the excuse " one wants to work." People need to be accountable for their work product. read more

I should first start with a disclaimer. I have been living on the West Coast for 13 years, 5 of those years I lived in the Pacific Northwest where people are very serious about their coffee. As serious as they are about their micro-brews. I know my beans and have certain preferences. When I buy beans at home, I get the good stuff. I used to order my coffee from a farm in Kona and have even spent $100 on a 12 oz bag of Kopi Luwak when I was in Bali. Yes I am a coffee snob but damn proud to be one. Don't be a hater - we all have our ways. Anyways, I am not a big Starbucks fan, never have been, b/c to me their coffee tastes like burnt beans. I prefer mom and pop coffee places that micro roast their beans or Peet's if I'm going for a bigger coffee chain. But if I have to drink Starbucks, I will get a latte b/c they aren't that bad. And I actually do enjoy their pumpkin spice lattes very much when they are offerred in the fall. With that said, when I am visiting my family back east I prefer Starbucks and will only drink their coffee b/c it's strong and because Dunkin Donut coffee is so damn HORRIBLE. It's no wonder they do not have Dunkin Donuts on the West Coast. Their coffee tastes like sweet syrup - even the smell of it makes me sick. I seriously don't understand why people love it so much but my CT friends think it's the best thing ever. Thankfully there is a Starbucks now in the valley b/c before this store opened I used to bring my own beans and my french press with me while visiting. The Oxford Starbucks is near my Nanny's house, they have a drive-through, and I can get a triple shot latte that I know will satisfy me until I can get back to the West Coast where we have more choices for good coffee. The price for a grande triple shot pumpkin spice latte with soy is killer (-$6.50 per cup) so thankfully I don't visit more than once a year! read more

I love this Starbucks! They are ALWAYS quick abd efficient. If you have to wait it isn't because they are moving slow... everyone is always moving at hyper speed (it amazes me)... it is because they are slammed with people. I also love how friendly they are! They ALWAYS greet you when you walk in and with genuine friendliness. I have seen customers be flat out rude and nasty for no reason to them... and they were very good back. I was amazed! The place is always clean too. I have been to Starbucks that are just NASTY. This one is actually clean. Even the bathrooms. (Yes if you read my reviews that matters a lot to me!) They never mess up my drink either. So nice! They are careful in how they make things and really good about making sure you are happy. I have been going to this Starbucks for years and I have never had an issue. The staff are always friendly, the spaces including bathrooms are always clean, and the food and drinks are always good. In the month of November, I regularly meet up with other writers who are participating in NaNoWriMo. There are plenty of tables, chairs, and outlets for our small group, and we don't have to worry about being kicked out or getting looks from others. You can't get a better manager than Cassandra! She is usually seen working the front and talking to, or should I say taking care of, customers. The big question - would I recommend this place to a friend? There for you when you need a caffeine fix first thing or wifi time. Mostly great service. There was one time when I wanted to use a twenty to put $5 on a Starbucks card, but they put the whole twenty on the card. The employee told me there was no way to get the rest of the money back. Which was a big problem for me, because I'd been trying to stretch that money for the whole week. The green tea and banana chocolate protein smoothie have real medicinal value when you are under the weather. Honestly, how hard is it to shake the teas? I was a barista at Starbucks for three years and never skimped on any drink. People pay a lot of money consistently and lately I have really been let down. It's frustrating when the word "shaken" is in the name of your drink. It makes a difference. I wish there was another Starbucks in the area. Also, I get an oatmeal every day and there's a honey packet in the bag. I was told that honey does not come with oatmeal and that I was wrong.....when the whole staff always does it without ever asking for it. I visit a bunch of the Starbucks shops because it's usually my favorite place to do homework. This Starbucks is more of a busy shop because of it's location on the main road and drive through. I noticed that the tables aren't cleaned much at this particular shop and that the staff making the coffee is usually troubled due to the high traffic coming through. Today they made a mistake making my Carmel Brûlée, and I asked them to remake it, and they made the same mistake. Not my favorite place to do homework, but average service at best. read more

Great service and same signature crafted drinks you know and love. The staff have always been friendly here and have been super welcoming. The drive through line is quick going which is super helpful when you're in a morning rush to get to work. The store is kept very clean and well stocked with cute cups and mugs. I do some of my holiday shopping here for my coffee loving friends. I personally buy their pre-ground coffee and brew it at home to have the perfect way to start my mornings. I happened upon this Starbucks completely by accident and wow, what a nice surprise. I was heading down Rt 8 to catch a train to NYC and it was just raining so hard I decided to scrap the trip because what's the point of going into the city if it's going to be a rotten day. I pulled off 8 on to 68 and was going to head north to Southbury when I saw the Starbucks sign. Perfect! The place is clean, not crowded, easy parking, comfortable chairs and the staff was very friendly - no attitude like you sometimes get in the Westport Starbucks. Kicked back, read the paper, waited for the rain to end [it didn't] and finally left but definitely a relaxing morning in a comfortable store. read more

This is seriously one of the best Starbucks in the area. The baristas are unbelievably friendly and the staff that work the drive-thru are always so kind and genuine. My order has never been wrong at this location, even if my coffee order is like a billion words long... how do they do it every time and never ask me to repeat?!?! Also, the wait time is pretty reasonable, especially when I think about experiences I've had at the Woodbridge location, waiting well over 10 minutes for a coffee and sandwich. It can get loud and busy during certain points of the day but it always clean and the service is great. The coffee and atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a Starbucks. However, as of 10/4/13 I was very disappointed in the service. While there, it was as if there were a chasm between the baristas and the customers. Aside from having indifferent attitudes, they slandered (at length and in detail) the customer going through the drive through when the window was closed. I am a pretty happy person, I like it when people smile back and treat each other with positive friendly attitudes. Furthermore, it bothers me to no end when people tear others down with their words in order to lift themselves up, especially when it is half of the staff at a business. I could not keep my mouth shut about it, and pointed out this disappointment in as friendly as a way as I could muster. Anyway, personal character means a lot to me, the behavior was unprofessional enough for me to have no desire to return to Starbucks. Anyway, I know this is a strict review, but people treating people well is something I am passionate about. So, to sum up: good coffee, discouraging staff. Go to Dunkin Donuts up the street and they will greet you with a smile for 2/3's the price, albeit sacrificing atmosphere. Update **Since I wrote my last review two years ago staff has changed. Most of the staff there is awesome. However, there are still a couple of ppl that should not be in the service industry making coffee here. All in all, a good place to enjoy a coffee now. The service is AWFUL. More then once I have paid for a coffee with simply steamed soy milk and waited so long I just walked our without my coffee. It pains me to write a negative review about Starbucks. Now that I'm 60 years old, I want to say that Starbucks has changed the face of coffee drinking in America for the better! But sadly my experience at this Starbucks was horrible. I wanted a half pound of coffee. I told Michaela, the shift manager, that if she couldn't do it I would just take a full pound, no big deal. But she said she could do it. She didn't tell me however that it would cost more. To spend eight dollars for a half pound when a whole pound cost 14 just doesn't seem right, and I've purchased many half pounds from other Starbucks in the past. No big deal, but it was the way Michaela dealt with the situation that really upset me. She kept insisting that she only charged me half. I even called over my wife to make sure my math was correct. Finally, Michaela admitted that she charged an extra dollar. She said: it's a dollar! This was to let me know that it was no big deal. That doesn't seem right when it's your dollar and not the other person's dollar in question. Michaela slammed my Starbucks gift card on the counter not just once but twice. She was furious at me for expecting to get a fair deal. And I know from experience that Starbucks always wants to give a fair deal. Furthermore, when a customer is not treated right, they are usually given a free drink coupon or something. Not this young lady. I'm surprised she did not call the police when I did not accept the deal and insisted on getting my money back. Happily, there is another Starbucks close by. I told them the whole story and they sold me the coffee. I love Starbucks but this experience was crazy. read more
