Yes, it is a chain, but something about this Starbuck's location gives off a more relaxed vibe in quaint Safety Harbor. The barista's are very helpful and friendly. One offered to remake my drink because I forgot to mention I wanted it iced. The taste was slightly different to us, because we are from Chicago and in general, the water just tastes different from what we are used to at home. There are several seating options from tables to sit at to comfy conversation areas inside and wrought iron tables and chairs outside. I was impressed by how fast the team works here on a busy morning. I loved getting an iced coffee here then walking Bayshore Blvd. A definite "must stop" when I am in town. Because of the higher prices of coffee and breakfast inside Safety Harbor Resort, I will often opt to walk here in the morning for breakfast. read more

I decided it was time for a new review after being first to review this Starbucks, 12 years ago. My opinion has changed. The decor is solid, the art work is unique and the seating is comfy but what really sets this place apart is the service. Some how, some way, the staff here stays consistently positive and friendly! It's really remarkable since that's not always the case at Starbucks. My brother's house is in walking distance of this Starbucks location so when I'm craving a mocha when visit him I walk in over. I can't say it has always been the best Starbucks, but something has changed because my last visit was quite memorable! They made my Toffee Nut Mocha with Almond milk perfect! I also got a green smoothie and a grilled cheese as breakfast. The baristas were so friendly and so good at their jobs! Eh, store manager didn't want to scan my Rewards so I could get points for two drinks or approximately a $12 transaction...the process felt rushed and disappointed with the customer service. I got a Nitro Cold Brew w/a pump of Vanilla syrup. It was good - still sweeter than how I liked my coffee, but still enjoyable. Honestly, wouldn't return and would hunt down the local coffee shop in downtown Safety Harbor vs. Coming here. Customer service wasn't inviting so I'm def. So excited to try the newly renovated Starbucks in Safety Harbor! This is where my excitement ended. Newly renovated, but for some reason it doesn't seem like the whole "Design and Research" department at Starbucks tested the seating and comfort designs on humans. Let's get started with the HUGE bench in the new part of this Starbucks, why is it so high up? Why is it so uncomfortable? Did the designer actually SIT on this? Nice plugs right by your feet, but why? No Human could ever sit here and plug away at studying or work while enjoying Coffee because the tiny tables in front of the bench is LOWER than the bench itself. What? Yah. This would be torture to try to use these little tiny tables even for setting a coffee on. OK, so what about the chairs? Very odd wooden bottomed chairs with either a strange padded back or NO BACK AT ALL. What the heck? I wonder how many back injuries are going to happen after sitting in here over a cup of coffee and a scone. Bench along the window. Good idea I guess, but I can't get over the horrible chairs. To the designer, are you a reincarnated Medieval torture device engineer? What on earth are you thinking!? As to the coffee, yah it's good and the service is still on point. But the Baristas were even complaining about back pain because they lowered the counter they have to work on by 4 inches and over the course of the day they are hurting. Stopped in after dance class yesterday, to catch up with a lovely fellow dancer. Haven't seen her in a year and she looks FABULOUS! I ordered my chai latte and she got a peach green iced tea. Both drinks were made with efficiency and a smile on the barista's face. It wasn't a busy day, so there were plenty of seats for us to grab and gab. Strangely, I've found healthy go-to choices thanks to time calorie listings! My go-to is a a Spinach Feta Wrap. My cake pop falls into my portion control facel of my Healthy Lifestyle strategy! This is a great Starbucks right in the heart of town. One of the few you see anymore that isn't a drivethru. It really keeps hold of the old ways of the neighborhood store. I moved away from Florida 3.5 years ago and just came back for a vacation for the first time since I left. And while there has been some turnover there were still a few baristas (and the manager) who remember me by name. It's nice to still feel like a regular in a town that has changed so much in the last few years. Outside of that this store while busy can usually get you through the line quickly and is kept clean and comfortable. There is ample seating inside and out and the music is kept low enough that you can easily read, study, or work if you want to camp out for a while. read more

Your usual friendly Starbucks. There is a ton of free parking around. I love how it is across the street from the library. i can grab books and walk across. Service here is really fast and friendly. They have coffee tasting on Tuesdays. I like how they make this feel like a neighborhood coffee shop. There are two tables in the corner that is relatively hidden. I like sitting there and looking out the window. There are also comfortable chairs by the restrooms. It's a great place to sit and read. read more

Lately I've been making it a habit to visit every Starbucks within the vicinity of places I visit. We were in Safety Harbor so I thought a quick Caramel Macchiato might be a great addition to my afternoon stroll. We walked in to a busy store that seemed seriously cramped. Although it has plenty of seating at either end, the line right in front of the counter is almost right against the parallel wall. Confused? Well let me explain what I mean by that. If you come in from the front entrance, you have to walk past multiple tables and do a u-turn into the waiting line. That seems fine and dandy... unless there are people actually sitting at those tables. There is not enough walking room, and we were also toting our son in his car seat which lead to an embarrassing string of "Pardon me", "Excuse me", and "I'm sorry" as we tried to make our way through. When I finally got to the counter I asked the barista about an offer I'd received via email. Before she even let me explain she cut me off and assumed that I'd meant the holiday drink bogo deal. I had to get out my phone and actually show the email to her before she knew what I was talking or even believed me. After that she seemed very huffy. When I asked her "So that means I can get any drink that has espresso in it, right?", she responded with, "Yeah, it's any of those as long as you give me the code". It wasn't her words that upset me; it was the way that she said them, as if I was annoying her. I was in no way rude or entitled in the way that I inquired about the email, so the attitude was not appreciated. After I handed her the card and she slid it through the reader, she proceeded to tell me the price(after the discount) and went completely silent like she was waiting for me to pay. "Ma'am, I just let you swipe my Starbucks card. It has money on it", I said. Being as frustrated as I was, I really just wanted to get the heck out of there. (Just a note: I came to find out later on in my Starbucks travels that the barista has to slide your card once for the discount and a second time for the payment. I was new to the Starbucks scene and another MUCH friendlier barista at another location explained the process to me at a later date.) At least the drink turned out right. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one. I'll come give this place another try sometime and hopefully I'll have a better experience. Can't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. read more

You already know Starbucks, consistent flavor/quality and good service. It's not a local coffee shop, but it doesn't try to be. Compared to other Starbucks locations, this one does seem to have a bigger variety of pre-packaged snacks, which is good. There are also a ton of board games available if you're in a playful mood. The real reason for my review is the baristas -- I really appreciate the baristas at this location working extra hard to keep up with the influx of Pokemon Go players in the area while maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude. A lot of businesses in "hot spots" seem to be struggling to keep up and I even heard an employee at a nearby business complaining, but the baristas here always have a smile on their face and always get your order right. Will continue to give them my business over other places in the area when I need to grab a snack in between pokestops :) read more

Was very disappointed in my drinks. I ordered a hot choc and a latte and after walking back to our tent at third Friday realized that both drinks were not filled to the top and both weren't even hot. It's expensive to buy those drinks with it not even being filled to the top. This is the second time it has happened. Won't be back :( read more

Came in last night and ordered a Rewards drink for my son. It was a customized butter beer recipe (Harry Potter). I found the batista to be at bit short and not very friendly. He seemed to be in a rush when I was trying to pull up the recipe on my phone even though there was no one behind us. When the drink was done, he slid it across the counter to my son, who is 11. Son whispered to me that it felt word to be given a drink like that. I do frequent the St. Pete stores almost on a daily basis. Never got such a cold feeling in an otherwise warm place. I'm local and used to visit this location a lot prior to the renovation- so I was excited to stop in today to get a coffee and do some work. The excitement ended there. The place is sparse and not an ounce comfortable. Who ever designed the store, really lost sight of why patrons sit and stay in a coffee shop rather than take their beverage on-the-go. First, there is not a single cozy chair. There is a long bench which would be comfy if there were actual usable tables in front of it. Instead there are knee height tiny round coffee tables, that fit perhaps 2 coffees. Second, the chairs are solid - painfully uncomfortable wood. And, there are no square tables, only tiny 18" or so round ones. Barely enough room for a laptop and coffee. At the bar, there are more wood chairs with mini backs. Perhaps they don't want patrons to stay awhile and that's why it's so uncomfortable- who knows. But I for one am deeply bummed as Starbucks will no longer be my go-to for coffee or an alternative location to work. I guess it's a win for the other mom n pop coffee shops in the area as they will have less to compete with. read more

Best Starbucks by far!!! My wife and I moved here back in January and this Starbucks is literally 2mins from our house. The location is convenient and perfectly placed downtown safety harbor. This Starbucks is a mess. From web orders to the check out, nothing is set up to be customer friendly. The web orders are housed behind the counter. That is totally fine, but the employees actively ignore people. What's the point of mobile orders if you need to wait to get drinks in line? Next, the barista there this evening was in no rush or concerned about doing anything quickly. He filled up the lids, stared at the blender for one drink, remade the drink, and did nothing else.
