Today I visited the Starbucks on Washington Grove in Rockville for the first time with a group of my sorority sisters. We had about an hour before our next meeting, so we decided to stop in for drinks, relax, and catch up. We were dressed in professional business attire and simply enjoying conversation over coffee. I purchased both a drink and a 1971 Starbucks cup. While checking out, I was having trouble with my Starbucks app and politely asked the barista for assistance because I wanted to receive credit for my purchase. She told me to keep my receipt and said she could try to help, although she couldn't guarantee the points would be added later. As we waited for our drinks, we sat talking about life, health, and spending time together. We were there no more than 20 minutes when the barista working register 2 drawer 1 approached our table and abruptly said, "Can you keep it down? I can't hear the person ordering because you are too loud." All six of us sat there shocked and embarrassed. One of my sorority sisters responded, "This is a first. I've never been told I was too loud while having a normal conversation in a coffee shop." We immediately gathered our things and left. What made this experience so upsetting was not just the comment itself, but the rude and disrespectful manner in which we were approached. There were other customers in the coffee shop talking as well, yet our group of six professional Black women was singled out publicly and made to feel unwelcome. The interaction felt humiliating and, honestly, discriminatory. Customer service should be rooted in professionalism, respect, and basic courtesy. Instead, we left feeling judged, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. Because of this experience, I will not return to this location, and it has genuinely made me reconsider continuing to support Starbucks altogether. read more

The cashier was friendly and pleasant. The service was very good. My beverage (venti caramel Frappuccino) was prepared quickly and efficiently. The Starbucks is at the intersection of Fallsgrove Boulevard and Shady Grove Road in an incredibly busy shopping center with Krispy Kreme, Mamma Lucia, Panera Bread, Chipotle, Moby Dick, Jersey Mike's, Hair Cuttery, Montgomery County Liquor, Safeway, Smoothie King, and two banks: Capital One and PNC. The shopping center is a nightmare. So many cars coming in and out. Someone nearly crashed into me as they turned to make a swift turn as I was proceeding forward. The developers should have known better; there should have been a garage instead of a lot that does not seem to be adequate for the volume of customers. More exits/entrances would have alleviated the problem. Of course all of this is informational only and nothing that Starbucks can control, so it still gets my 5 stars! read more

It's a decent location, I park by the bank. It's easier to get in and out. Orders are made accurately and on time when you placed through the app. Not as big or cozy as other locations. They don't have their fixing station anymore, maybe due to the pandemic. Friendly employees though. Very clean bathrooms. Though, I despise air hand dryers, yuck. Ill stick with Copley location, cuz I can get more work done and closer to other stores. read more

I have done mobile orders here about 5 times when I visit my doctor and every time there is something wrong with my drink. The latest time the pick up woman seemed irritated I checked on my drink. This Starbucks is tucked inside the Safeway store. The counter and offerings are smaller than you find in most Starbucks retail stores, but they had what I wanted so I wasn't complaining. I I ordered the Witch's Brew Frappuccino out of sheer curiosity. It tastes like equal parts orange creamsicle (even though it's purple) and fruity pebbles, and it has swirls of chia seed throughout. Not great, not terrible, but it definitely has a peculiar aesthetic appeal. Wow the counter-offers plenty of prepackaged snacks and other baked goods, I probably would not order snacks from the glass snack case. I get it Saturday morning rush so mobile orders are coming in , I watched about two staff members call out mobile order for 6 min, while I waited for my drink to come. My first wonderful cup of joe before work. I realized I was waiting unusually long for my small aka tall drink. I have come here on several occasions before work... this Starbucks is PACKED in the morning so factor in some wait time! This location is a pretty standard Starbucks. The employees are friendly and they make drinks pretty quickly. The downside is that it's usually crowded, which makes it difficult to find a seat inside the store. However, there's plenty of seating outside that can be utilized if the weather is nice. read more

It's Starbucks, what do you expect? I ordered an iced doppio over ice in a grande cup and then poured over milk from the side. This cost me $2.25 instead of the much more expensive grande iced latte! At around 7:15 in the morning, there was a medium sized line. The baristas didn't seem to be working that quickly, but the wait was not unbearable. I woke up this morning, craving coffee that was not too sweet. The Starbucks nearest my home has the Clover brewing system, but this morning they were out of the Hawaiian coffee. Too bad, so sad. Life's a b, and you die. So I got in my car, and drove to closest Starbucks that I knew also carried the Clover machine and Starbucks Reserve coffees. I was in luck here. This Starbucks carries a wider selection of the Reserve Select coffees, even the Jamaica mountain coffee, even though they were out of it the day I went in. I got a Venti Hawaiian coffee, and Erin, my barista, was kind enough to add a side of extra hot coconut milk in a sample cup. I've visited my fair share of Starbucks and this location is definitely one of the fastest. No drive thru, but plenty of parking since it's directly beside Safeway! I was in and out within 10 minutes with a line of about 6 people in front of me. Very impressive :) the barista was super friendly and I saw him clarify exactly how people liked their drink while he was making it, including myself! Typical Starbucks with your typical Starbucks choices. I like the "corner-like" location though, because there is a small courtyard-esque area nearby to sit and sip. Inside, there seem to be a lot of chairs, table and space to sit down compared to the actual space. The location is well structured for people to stay and savor a beverage or snack. The baristas are pretty quick here to address you, take your order and make your beverage. One of the coolest baristas in the area, IMO, works here. It's not the best job to be a Starbucks barista, but it seems pretty decent here! Parking is in the lot, and some businesses nearby allow for walking... but most people likely drive if not working nearby. Nice location - I like coming here. read more

I was one of 3 people in the store and I had to leave before my drink was made because I witnessed a bunch of drinks be made in front of me that were mobile orders. Pretty frustrating when you watch so many orders get called and people aren't even there but yet you talked to me 10 min ago. I liked how they didn't bother trying to kick me out during closing time. Some places can be rude with how they tell you to leave due to closing time. They were quite chill with me wrapping up my work, and I was directly in front of them the whole time. I had to ask them if they were closing to find out that they were already closed. The young lady just said "Oh... yeah. We're actually closed now but you're fine." Then went back to cleaning up. She was so chill about it. This Starbucks is faster than many of the others I've visited. I can come in at 7:00 am and have two people in line ahead of me. The barista instantly asks what I want and it's ready within a minute of me paying for it. That's what I need when I'm in a morning rush and I'm looking to get in, get my coffee, and get out. I love to get iced mocha, caramel frap, and the hot chocolate. You have to try the madeleines, they're terrific! Food options are a-plenty as well. The breakfast sandwiches come out hot and are filling. Scones, pound cake, and muffins are all very good. One time I got an apple fritter and I swear it was yesterday's (-1 star). I guess there's not too much to say about yet another Starbucks, but I come here every few weeks or so for morning coffee or tea. This location is close to my job, so it's easy to get to. I have no complaints yet. The baristas are all very friendly and work fast to get the customers in and out of there. I hardly ever get food, since I usually eat breakfast at home, but a couple of times I've had a scone or muffin. Always fresh and delicious. I recommend the little vanilla scones, those are my favorite! I will say, I don't love the parking lot. Usually pretty crazy out there. Wouldn't it be nice if this was a drive thru location? I think it should be mandatory that all Starbucks around the world have a drive thru option! One can only dream. read more

This store is located is a very busy shopping center. Parking was difficult to locate due to the volume of shoppers. Once inside, the wait to place my order was not very long. However, The wait to receive my order was longer than I thought necessary considering the amount of baristas on duty. I would probably not return to this location based on the traffic in the shopping center unless I had plans to go to more than one store in the area. read more

Just started work nearby and this place has been such a pleasant start to my day, or a source for caffeine before the drive back home. The staff is always friendly, and the bathroom is always clean. The only comment I have is related to how quick you get your coffee/drink during peak times... but that can vary depending on how long the line is, which is reasonable... It would also be nice to have a little bit more space to sit inside instead of a lot of shelves for mugs and other products most 9-5ers don't seem to be buying as much, or that can be bought online anyways. Oh boy, another review of starbucks... but I felt the need to review this one since I'm here almost every other day. I don't see a point in reviewing the coffee or food since it's your typical run-of-the-mill Sbucks. The baristas here are friendly, although I'm not sure if that's because I'm here alllll the time, so many of them recognize me. (I change up my drinks so none of them will actually know my order) I love the small older lady (I'm terrible with names)- she's so nice and happy whenever I see her. So cute! Anyways, they do a pretty good job of getting your order before you get to the cashier. yay fast turnover! They get pretty swamped in the mornings around 8, at lunch time, and around 5. I go here to study because I have a hard time concentrating in quiet places (weird, yes), so I tend to avoid this place around those peak hours because all the tables and seats are usually taken. Gah, I really really wished they had more seating like the sbucks at Kentlands. Unfortunately fallsgrove is really close to my apartment so I end up here often. but when I have the time/energy, I definitely willing to make the 8 minute drive over to Kentlands to enjoy the spacious tables and plentiful power outlets. oh, and if you're lactose intolerant like me, be sure to register you sbucks card so you get free soy milk with your drinks. yay for saving 60 cents read more

Stopped by this Starbucks on a Friday afternoon and the line was basically out the door. The ordering process was so slow I could've run across the street to get lunch and the line still wouldn't have moved. The line to order was just as long as the line waiting for the drinks. Once we ordered our drinks we waited another ten minutes. We ended up rushing back to the car and didn't taste our drinks until we were leaving. They were all so bad! It honestly tasted like whoever made them has never made a frappe before. Starbucks is not your local coffee shop, it's a chain, so I feel like the drink should always taste the same regardless of the location.
