My favorite Starbucks in town. Quick, friendly, and they've never got my order wrong.

I visited here on two separate days when I was in Rapid City. The first day was in the afternoon and the place was packed. Luckily we found seats at a table. but I was eyeing some big comfy chairs for the following day, and we did score those chairs for an extended time in the morning of the next day. Had some work to do and the WiFi was fast and didn't cut out. I've been drinking mochas recently and well, you can't really mess that drink up! So my drink was what I expected. This Starbucks really needs management. Ordered simply 2 coffees with cream & vanilla. Did realize a specially qualified barista needed to make our beverages. Waited over seven minutes and decided to shop for a new Tumblr. All of them were very dusty. I waited at the beverage counter where I see the spilled drinks, the napkin dispenser empty and orders sitting there since 7:00am and one 1pm. Discovered the paradise drink with cold foam while I was in Rapid for two months this spring with a family member at the hospital and extended care. I tried it at the three store locations and Target. This Starbucks is the best one for getting drinks made correctly and with quality every time. I needed a pick me up at the end of stressful days and this drink at this location was always a treat. The cold foam actually whipped is amazing! I can't say every location prides themselves on doing that. With it costing extra makes it a bigger deal for me. read more

Way too small of a parking lot and really messes with traffic. This is located on a corner of one of the busiest streets in Rapid City and a residential street. Trying to get in and out on the busy street (Rushmore Road) and you run the risk of being rear ended. Coming from the residential street and you got to really watch for kids and cars backing out of drive ways. They need to move it somewhere that has better parking and is safer to turn into. read more

Drink was less than mediocre. Even more, staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. Kelly (?) (blonde hair, nose ring) was awful. Could tell making my order was an inconvenience. She seemed to be gossiping and was trying to hide it but was using crude and vulgar language within earshot of customers. Not a good way to start my morning. Maybe just a bad day, but nonetheless unacceptable. Will not be visiting this establishment again due to staff. Suggest talking to this employee about acceptable work behavior and manners. read more

Worst starbucks experience I've ever had. The workers were nice, but the service was slow and definitely not worth it. They have new paper straws, which can be seen as eco friendly, but i do not appreciate all the tiny pieces of paper in my mouth. Even more, my drink was absolutely and undeniably disgusting. It was bitter and tasted like dirty socks. Even worse, the whipped cream was clumpy and runny. It tasted like refrigerated garbage. It was so undrinkable I wouldn't even give that to my dog. On another note, the bathroom toilet paper had not been restocked and I resorted to having to ration two squares of toilet paper, which weren't enough. 0/10 recommend. read more

Nicest group of baristas I've run into. Made me feel so welcome... What a coffee shop experience should be like! I'm traveling, and it's usually fun to scope out the independent coffee shops to get a feel for the local character. But in RC, after trying one place that closed at 3pm (?!), another with no decent food, and another where the barista didn't even look up to take my order, I was grateful to know I could always count on Starbucks. read more

One of the slowest Sbux experiences. Seemed confused about what we ordered even though there were 2? other customers. First girl opened the window and asked if we were still waiting for something. Um yeah, we haven't been given anything yet. Then first drink came, repeat. Waiting for something? Yes, we ordered two drinks and now have one. That means we are waiting for one more. I've been to many Starbucks shops around the world, and this is my favorite. My family and I usually have several items in our order, and they take the time to make it right. They always greet new customers warmly as they walk in the door, even if the place is busy. They also are very willing to customize my drink without making me feel like I'm inconveniencing them (as I've experienced in other stores). read more

Store 13771 ordered drinks and breads in drive thru totaling 32.90 then I pulled up to the window and tried to order another drink. Everyone by the open drive thru window ignoring me. Even glancing over but not acknowledging my existence. After repeatedly saying excuse me & then resorting to honking still no one would help me. So I honked a little longer and barista Emily turned to me and said "Yeah what?!" with extreme hostility. I told her I was giving her store business and there is no reason to be rude to me and that I would like to speak to her manager. Emily said, "I don't have to put up with this" turned and ignored my multiple requests to speak with her manager. Another barista came to window who I informed I wanted to my money back and to speak with the manager. The manger named Chris did not apologize but questioned the validity of Emily saying anything rude to me. I told him to ask her because he was standing right next to her. She refused to look at him or me. Instead he told her to go to the back and said he can only comp me a drink and implied it was because "I was having a bad day". This was the worst customer service I have ever had in my life. I called corporate Starbucks I hope Emily & Chris learn good customer service skills from district manager Cody & store manager Anita, they should be embarrassed of these two employees. read more

Always slow and always rude. I could have 15-20 minutes extra time, and guaranteed, they will take it up every time. After waiting an excessive amount of time for a drink they act like they've never heard of, they don't even say "thank you" or "have a nice day." I guess they feel like customer service isn't necessary because Rapid City is limited in options. So frustrating! Where is Howard Schultz and his company policy here? read more
