This particular store is on the small side, but still very functional. There's limited inside seating, but a nice comfortable and shaded courtyard patio right outside the entrance. It's only a few feet away from the historic Pickwick Theatre, and oddly there happens to be a much larger Starbucks only a city block away. Anyway, very convenient to have around if one is putzing along Prospect Ave in the heart of Uptown Park Ridge.

Very swift and friendly service!

Grand cappuccino.

Generally, this location is really good with my beverages. But today, very, very bad. Given the price of a grande cappuccino, I would think I am paying to have more than a half cup of coffee. I also asked for sweet cream foam, which was gone by the time my husband returned home with my coffee.

Now this is a cool concept. Let's back up. I meet a couple of friends on Sunday mornings at coffee…read moreshops and cafes. No chains, just stand alone locations. Each place has a theme, or a charm all its own and Grind N Gears Cafe is one of the latter. When you pull up you immediately recognize the place as a former body shop or service station. Not a as station, but a body shop. They have their own small parking lot in front with special motorcycle parking on the sides of the lot. It's a small place. When you walk inside there is a runner leading up to the counter with their case of delicious looking eats and a platform above with an old Indian motorcycle perched looking over the place. To the right of the counter are some toys for the kids, including a kids motorcycle and other funs toys to keep the kiddos busy while their parents enjoy a magically concocted coffee drink by the shops artisans. There are comfy little sitting areas composed of oversized furniture from your parents basement. The front has a few racks of leather jackets that feels like your at The Alley's northern location. They do have some hats and apparel for their own shop and I almost bought a hat. On the left side, they have another seating area, but it looks more like a table in a cozy kitchen than a sitting room. It's quaint no matter where you look or sit. Lastly, their drinks and food are quite good. With all the stand alone coffee places popping up, Grinds N Gears is one of the cooler places and I don't mean hipster.

stopped in (finally) to pick up a few treats to entertain guests coming for coffee. Great…read moreassortment to choose from.. difficult even, but we were able to fill a box to everyone's enjoyment. I really liked the assortment of cakes, pies, cookies and more available and will certainly be back again.. and again. A suggestion: While I was intrigued by the sandwich board I had no way to know what the sandwich would look like. Bread? pandora? Ciabatta? 6", 8", 10", 12"... or bread loaf slices? So my suggestion is they get some photos taken or make a few sandwiches wrapped and ready to grab n go. Make one of each and see what sells. I'd use sandwiches as a way to bring in customers who will then purchase a pastry or cookie.. or come back when they need something sweet. sorry, no photos... pastries were gone too fast and they were delicious.

I had a wonderful experience on my first visit to this establishment. I came across New Paradise…read morethrough their Instagram page and based on their featured content, I decided to check them out. That decision was worth the visit. I had delicious coffee, pastry, and gelato. I received good, friendly service. I had a cream and fruits filled croissant, coffee, and a cup of gelato with coconut and pistachio flavors. They were all delicious and pretty good. The gentleman who served me gave me a generous portion of their homemade gelato which was creamy and flavorful. I enjoyed my experience here. I liked the variety of pastries and other sweet treats this fime establishment had to offer. I definitely recommend checking them out.
