Starbucks - Greenmount & I-64 (O'Fallon) "This store is dedicated to people united by their courage to serve our country." This store is located near Scott Air Force Base, OFallon, IL. They offer limited edition military merchandise. I stopped by here for few hours and I really appreciated the baristas and how much they kept a positive attitude, despite being short staffed and getting through crowd rush hour. I ordered some food and hot beverage and all tasted good. This store supports military big time. Although, they're small on the inside with limited seating, they show love in a much bigger way. They accommodated each customer and made sure they were comfortable and completely satisfied. When I visited the Starbucks HQ in Washington, I met a friendly front desk lady who shared with me that her and her spouse were both in military. She also shared with me, "Starbucks focuses on hiring thousands of military personnel to help them keep their jobs, should they or their spouse have to be transferred to another location." "No matter where they are transferred for military purposes, Starbucks has their baristas back. They offer smooth transition into a new store for them. Making new friends is a bonus." My order was made fresh, efficient and tasted great. I enjoyed my stay here, while on business. If you're a military member, come by here and enjoy your stay. read more

Quality is ok...however, they never seemed staffed adequately and it takes a very long time for an order to process. Always place order 15-20 ahead of arrival and it is never ready by the time I get here. Drive through is typically around the building...I really think they don't staff well. This is my local Starbucks and I go there fairly often. Most Sbux are created with really poorly designed drive throughs for the space they have, so I generally avoid it and make mobile app orders and walk in to pick up my order. It's always ready. I recently stopped in to do some work with my laptop and sat at a table for the first time. It was a Sunday afternoon and not busy inside - the drive through was crazy of course. All Sbux are crazy busy. I have been a Partner and I fully understand the operation and probably have a higher level of patience than others. The staff here are decent. I keep comparing Sbux locations to the stores I've worked at. It's nothing like it used to be - we were all super friendly, took time with the customers and laughed and smiled. The staff here were nice but not overly friendly, they do spend time talking to each other about themselves a lot. It's fine, they're young haha. The food and drinks are what they are. If they follow the recipe its exactly what you want. The only reason why I didn't give five stars is because the cafe was unkempt. There were 5-6 people behind the counter but no one tends to the tables and chairs - all dirty and in disarray. Before I opened up my laptop, I asked someone if they could clean off the table for me. The person I asked requested someone else to do it. He came and wiped off the table and left. I figured he might as well have cleaned off all the tables and straightened the chairs since he was out there (only one other table was taken) but he didn't. And his towel was overly wet and there was a lot of fuzz/lint. That sounds so old lady-like and picky, I know, but the table looked so unsightly. I ended up getting a napkin and wiping up the excess liquid and fuzz. It must have been a brand new, unwashed towel. So picky but we spend a lot of money there and dine-in customers should feel clean and comfortable in the cafe. read more

Ugh. We live out of town, but frequently visit to see family in this area. We stay in the hotels right by this Starbucks. Always regret getting coffee from here. Not only do they consistently take an excessively long time to fill orders, but today my Americano is lukewarm. Like, I could give this to a toddler and not even need to blow on it first to cool it down. Such a disappointment when I just paid $5 for this drink that other Starbucks locations almost always do a great job with. Starbucks - you are a COFFEE store. At a minimum, your coffee should be hot! I came in through the drive through and ordered 2 protein boxes and anyone with eyes could see that the boxes were old and obviously have been sitting because apple slices started to turn color and were super water logged? I'm not sure how to describe the unsightly fruit‍ well they said they weren't able to cancle due to covid 19 since we touched them already so we left them on the counter (I mean I don't have a trash can readily available in my car and PLUS the boxes were dripping water ... I turned them sideways and the fruits water juices just leaked...I showed them and not once did they apologize.) Riley and some girl with purple ombre hair were so rude IMO, not once did we receive an apology and they acted as if I inconvenience them with my standards. Placed an online order and arrived. After thirty minutes still wasn't ready. Had to remind the barista of my online order and found out it they gave away one of my Items to someone else. But it didn't stop there- they told me they gave it to someone else and walked away. Didn't offer me a refund or another item, NOTHING. With the current pandemic affecting daily operations and hours for most businesses, I took a chance on getting a treat from this Starbucks location after work. I was not aware of their hours and arrived just as they were closing for the day. I happened to have the opportunity to chat with the delightful Gina, who not only took the time to share the new schedule with me but also offered options for ordering (social distancing/online ordering) and even recommended a new twist on my favorite beverage. I told her I'd come back and try it on Friday after work. In a demonstration of why this Starbucks has amazing customer service, knowledgeable and friendly barristas, and the continued loyalty of this customer, I was invited to go ahead and drive around to the window to receive my order! It wasn't expected, or anticipated, but it was very much appreciated! Made for a wonderful 45-minute drive home and I'll definitely be stopping by again on Friday. Before 5pm. What was the new twist on my favorite drink, you ask? Well, from now on I'll be asking for two scoops of ginger in my iced chai latte . A Starbucks is a Starbucks, for the most part. The layout is almost always awkward, like the drive thru is an afterthought. The coffee is better than hotel coffee but not as good as craft. As we were staying at a hotel close by, and the hotel coffee was not palatable, we stopped by for an afternoon boost. Service was friendly and drinks were accurate when served. I wouldn't make a special trip, but will certainly get the job done when you need caffeine. If I had the time, I'd have looked for a small batch local shop. read more

The baristas here work really hard. I came on an extremely busy day (weekday but near Christmas). It took me 25 minutes to get my drink whhich seemed long, but they were incredibly busy. Will not be going back. I ordered my drinks and there were not very many people waiting in front of me. They do ALL the mobil orders before doing the customer orders first and I asked several times where my drinks were and they said "they would be right up" 30 minutes later still no drinks. The latest experience wasn't the best. They had a long drive through line so I went in and ordered. They were having electrical problems so blenders were down meaning no frappuccinos or cold foams. The staff were all asking each other how many pumps of what go in which drink and everyone took guesses. Mobile orders came and went while my drink fell further down the queue. We stopped here on a 12 hour car drive and went in to order and the MANAGER was on the phone, watched me wait for 5 minutes while 2/4 other employees were doing INVENTORY while the other two were swamped with 20+ cars in the drive through. THEN the manager told me she had to go take care of a few things before taking my order...... first off. I work in the service industry so if they had been swamped and all employees were genuinely just trying to catch up I would understand but no, instead they have 2 of them doing INVENTORY.... I don't know what happened, but the last two visits in the last couple days have been extremely disappointing. Friday, it took walking up to the register to finally get the food portion of the mobile order. The staff wouldn't make eye contact in spite of trying to ask. (The food portion of mobile orders seem to always be forgotten, not just this store) If had been only that, no review... but then there's today. Today, order online. Food portion of the order was actually quick today but 2 simple Iced Teas weren't done after waiting for 20 minutes. No calling out to explain why, just our cups with stickers being looked at and ignored, and even with standing right there for about 15 of those 20 minutes, no one made eye contact to ask what we were waiting for. So, since one of us had to get back to work from a meal break we canceled our order and in spite of telling the manager looking guy at the cashier, who said he'd cancel the order, still no refund to my gift card tied to my account. read more

This Starbucks is trash every single time I visit. I don't understand how a simple drink such as a vanilla sweet cream cold brew can be so nasty. They do not add any sweet cream any time you order it. A basic vanilla cold brew should not come out looking like a cup of pure black iced coffee. 5 stars for good customer service and a consistently good product, yet the downside to this location is its drive-thru. One of the absolutely worst that I've ever seen. It is (in my Donald Trump voice) AWFUUUUUUUL!!!! If you park next to the building, you are so screwed. Get ready to be blocked in for several minutes at a time while calling your boss to tell them that you are running late. The drive-thru has a very unique shape to it, in that it takes up nearly three quarters of the building upon entering from the main road. In addition, the drive-thru backs up so badly that you are better off walking in and making your order. It seems as if there are three baristas waiting to assist you within the drive-thru alone. The drive-thru obviously isn't the fault of the Starbucks employees, but it kind of sucks from a customer point of view. Its probably best to do what I did while on my second visit: park 15-20 parking rows away from the building so that you can walk inside of the store to purchase your yum yums. Whoever designed this placed needs to be karate chopped in the neck. The customers + Starbucks employees deserve better than this type of dubious store layout. read more

Disclaimer - I ran the Honolulu airport Starbucks overnight shift for a few months several years ago. Why do they train their employees to swirl the F'ing cold drinks!!?? When they do liquid gets in the rim of the F'ing lid and it will drop in you. Maybe that's why I got so many tips from the flight crews in HNL - I used to point out how clean their beverage lids were when I made them drinks. My barista today slung my iced latte at me and closed the window. I waited u till she noticed I hadn't left and asked for a napkin to wipe the sloppy cup and she happily gave me (literally) a stack 4 inches thick. I'm conflicted about the stars... I don't know if I should give three stars or four stars! I'm not a coffee drinker but the 1st time I was in here; it was great. Today... Not so much! I'm going to go off this trip for the stars but explain both trips. Now the 1st trip it was overly crowded and I was definitely confused on how to order. The guy explained the sizes to me and even helped me figure out the drink I wanted. Which was a strawberry refresher, no water, coconut milk, whipped cream and light ice. He was extremely patient, helpful and he is the reason why I came back. Now today, it's late in the evening, fairly empty. This should be a breeze. I forgot the sizes and didn't want to say small, medium or large. Nor did I see the sizes on the menu. So I ask, what are the sizes? She said "small, medium or large". I'm confused... I thought you all didn't say that!?! She gave me a look and ask what I needed. Uummm okay! Still very confused. This is Starbucks... Right?! I placed my small order for a strawberry refresher, no water, coconut milk, whipped cream and light ice. I did say light ice two times. Ima say they don't understand what LIGHT ICE is! The ice was filled to the top of the small cup. So I might've had 3 sips of nothing! Ugh! Ok. Besides this mishap of ice vs light ice. It's a really small location, pretty quite in the late evening, clean and plenty of seats inside and out. At the end of the day... Yea. I will go back but asking for no ice... I am a frequent visitor here. I have never had a problem with the service at this starbucks. Only one out of my gazillion times have i ever had a complaint about my drink, which they remade promptly. If you see the drive-thru line one car further past the menu just go inside, it would be quicker (as long as there isn't a huge line inside). As far as coffeehouses in the metro-east illinois area, they are lacking. There have been a few that have tried but starbucks just puts them out of business. I hate that for the local coffee shops, however, i love the hours of starbucks open from 5-11 most days so its a great place to get my homework done. Great access to the highway as well. read more

This Starbucks is rumored to be the highest grossing Starbucks in the Midwest. If the drive-thru and in-house lines are any indication of the accuracy of that statement, then they truly are! There's nothing I can say about Starbucks here, that hasn't been said, written about, etc. But I've been to many a Starbucks, and this one is, well, just a great experience at any time of the day! The staff is wonderful, and always greets the regulars by name. Seldom do I even have to tell them what my order is. They will usually ask if I'm having whatever my usual drink is for that period of time. And promptly serve it up for me. On the very rare occasion, that your drink isn't up to your taste standards, they want you to tell them! They'll gladly remake any order to satisfy their customers. The store is clean and well maintained. But the configuration could have been given a bit more consideration. For example, the drive-thru lines up right in front of the entrance. It creates a considerable amount of traffic, and presents a potential hazard for patrons going in/out of the building. Similarly, there are a few parking spots right in front of the door. Beware if parking in these spots due to the way the drive-thru wraps around the building and crosses behind these parking slots. If you are parked there, and need to get out quickly, hope to God the drive-thru line isn't too long. Or you're going to be stuck in your parking spot until the line passes by. The good thing is, the baristas in this Starbucks are fast and accurate! They generally keep the drive-thru line moving at a pretty goods pace. That certainly is appreciated when you are short on time! They have an outdoor seating area, but again, it bumps right up against the drive-thru line! So consequently, your conversation is constantly interrupted by customers placing orders, or loud cars and stereos! Enjoying a nice latte right next to a running car isn't the most pleasant experience. The indoor seating area is less than adequate. Sure there are tables and chairs, but on a Saturday/Sunday morning, they fill up quick, leaving you no other option but to sit outside, or take your order to go. But as I stated, aside from these physical shortcomings, the exceptional staff more than makes up for it! And the product quality speaks for itself! read more
