Have been past this location so many times, but never stopped. I dropped in today to grab a latte. This has a great location at the corner of Lassen and Balboa, very nice and modern inside. Parking is a Bit tight and getting in and out is a little tough, but manageable. They do have drive thru if you prefer. The staff was very nice, got my latte and added a large ice water and cup of ice as well, no issues. Inside is nice and open, modern, clean with enough seats to relax or work and they have a nice outdoor patio area as well. The one thing I would say, maybe just today, but the espresso here tasted a bit off, not sure if it was burnt (if that is a thing) or what, but it tasted very different than other Starbucks locations, hopefully a one off, but I did notice the difference, but it was still ok, just not my favorite. Avoid this location! Went to get a venti coffee, that's it. The manager gave my coffee to some kid to lid it and when I grabbed it the lid came off and hot coffee poured out all over my hand. Then he had the nerve of saying I squeezed the cup and made the lid come off. Went to leave and my car was boxed from someone parked in the fire lane. Will never go to this location again read more

I'm pregnant and have morning sickness. Tried to buy grande hot water so I could make ginger tea, and they refused, saying that water is complementary, but then would not give me the complementary water. They said I could buy something, like chips, however that makes no sense because I literally feel like I'm going to vomit due to my pregnancy and I'm not supposed to be eating food like chips anyway. Again, I said I'm happy to purchase the cup and the water. I just need it hot, the man at the register said no. Do better. read more

The parking is often hectic due to limited spaces and only two entrances, which can make getting in and out a challenge. Went for Mother's day and the parking lot was awful! The inside of this Starbucks is nice. My biggest concern was that they brew the expresso directly into the plastic cups for all their iced drinks. I realize we have chemicals in a lot of what we consume but why add to it. When you could easily brew into steel. Hopefully they see this and change their practice. First time at this Starbucks location on Balboa and Lassen on a Friday afternoon. Drive thru was great and convenient. Our wait time was less than 7 minutes with 3 cars in front of us. The drive thru lane was spacious and doesn't feel suffocating like other drive thru lanes. Customer service at this Starbucks location via drive thru was excellent. The lady at the counter taking our payment and handing our crafted drinks was so sweet and pleasant. She even gave us drink holders without us having to ask for them. There were also green drink stoppers on all 3 lids of our drinks. The grilled cheese on sourdough was freshly made. It had the right amount of cheese. We will definitely start going to this Starbucks Drive Thru location more often due to our positive experience. read more

This Starbucks is located on a corner with two entrances so the traffic comes in from to areas and line can get pretty crazy. This is also just a very busy location in general, and they tend to always run behind on the drunk making. I had to wait 25 mins in the drive through line for a drink that was already made, and it was watered down by the time I got it. I was at least expecting to have a fresh drink by the time I got my drink so this was extremely disappointing. read more

I literally drive 15 for this specific Starbucks for my specific easy drink that everyone else effs up every single time. The guys working are always so kind, friendly and guess what? They actually know how to make coffee and never miss no matter what we order. Mine is always the same, but again never fails to actually wake me up while being tasty! Their service is always on point even when they're really busy - although usually busy, it's not too loud inside & there's always space to sit down and do work on your laptop. Parking is a little tricky sometimes because they are compact but parking seems to always be available since many people use the drive thru or just quickly go in to pick up their orders. I stopped by here tonight to take my sister to get her Starbucks coffee. When I pulled into their lot, there was no cars in the drive thru at 8pm so I chose going through there. When I got to the ordering area, the person working the drive thru was already laughing. I think they saw me reverse since I originally passed the ordering box because I didn't see it. My sister got ice Chai Latte. She said the Chai Latte was pretty good, they put light ice on it and still filled it to the top so thats a win-win. The payment was pretty simple, we pulled up to the window and he scanned the barcode on my sister phone. I just dropped of my car at Firestone and walked over here to catch up with my classes. Little did I know, no WIFI. So disappointing. I was already here so I will just make the most of it. I ordered my fave which is White Chocolate Mocha frappe. The barista didn't do how I want it. I didn't want to be a jerk so I didn't complain. The store is quiet busy. She asked for my name and she said "Hmmm that doesn't sound anything like Jill" and we both laughed. Because I was on my way to work and about 5 cars were also waiting, I drove away and quickly googled Jill. In the urban meaning Jill means "to masturbate" and to Jill off means to "F off" . This place does not get enough credit. I live near the starbucks on zelzah and chatsworth but I drive all the way here because not only are their drinks on point, their service and attitude is amazing. I've came here about 10 times already and the service gives me so much hope that there is still good/hospitable service out there. Thus, I had to leave a review. The drive thru line for this location is always long. Throw in the fact that it's in a small lot on a corner, and things can get a little confusing. If you're able to get around the line & park, I guarantee it's going to be quicker to just park and go inside. This problem is probably due to it being the newest Starbucks in the area, so maybe it's something that won't need to be considered a few months down the road, but just be aware that it's at least a crowded drivethru now. Employees are, as expected from Starbucks, very friendly and helpful. There have even been a few times when we've come in and they've offered us an extra muffin or something that they either accidentally warmed up or where a customer forgot/changed their mind on. And let me tell you...free food to a 3 year old like my son is like winning the lottery! read more

I usually enjoy Starbucks, but this location on Balboa and Lassen was a really disappointing experience. The service was slow even though it wasn't very busy. I didn't like how the boss Ayako was treating her workers. I was in a rush to get my drink and she started getting frustrated on one of her baristas and talking to him in a rude tone stating that he needs to be writing on the cups. I go to Starbucks often and personally I don't think the writing or a full message should be that necessary. A simple happy face would suffice in my opinion. Honestly this is my favorite Starbucks, there's so many things to love here. It's got an industrial and kind of farmhouse vibe, everyone is super friendly, it's solar powered drive-thru, and there's always good music and seating! I adore my regular Starbucks guy, Brandon, who recognizes me and knows my name before I see it's him! They always have a good selection of merch on top of everything. My only drawback is that the parking lot is so tight and small for the popularity of the location! When the drive-thru is long, I just park and walk in for my mobile order. Stop on by if you're in the area! *For the record, if they make an error on my drink, they not only correct but usually staff lets me keep the mistaken drink (which is almost always the nitro cold brew with ice, and I request it without ice, since the regular cold brew has ice but nitro doesn't.) read more

I came into this Starbucks this morning and left very disappointed. I paid over $30 for breakfast and as soon as I bit into my burrito it was cold.I tired to just continue eating but I saw the cold sausage and was disgusted. I could not return back to the store due to having a busy morning. I was already in the store waiting for my order for about 20 minutes. I don't mind waiting but if I'm going to wait I expect quality food and drinks. so I called and see what they can do to help. I spoke with Aileen, she told me she was the supervisor, and she was no help. I told her I was just in and they gave me a burrito that was half cold. She asked me to come back into the store so they could give me a different burrito. That was an inconvenience for me, She suggest I call the customer service number. I called the number she provided and it was disconnected. I then called back to get the number again and they answered I asked for the customer service number and the line disconnected. I know I could find this number online but it's the principal for me. This is their job, to provide great customer service, make great drinks and provide quality food. Starbucks is costly and I don't mind paying but I would expect to get quality food. I also saw that they warmed my burrito with other pastries, which is probably the reason why my food came out cold. I used their apps and reward system all the time, I don't understand what they couldn't just return money. I understand it's busy, but if i had got the right drink i wouldn't have had to come in to get it remade.
