Located inside Penn Station, this Starbucks is always in full hustle-and-bustle mode. It's crowded, but impressively well staffed. Despite the nonstop traffic, I've never waited more than five minutes for my order, which is honestly surprising. It's very much a grab-and-go spot with limited seating, but it's consistently clean, friendly, and fast. I usually only go to Starbucks during the holidays for their seasonal drinks, and this location always delivers! This location is perfect for a quick stop after a train ride.

Large Starbucks located in the LIRR concourse. Plenty of seating and the typical menu of items. There are screens here showing where your drink order is on a list of names, and a screen listing all the upcoming LIRR trains so you are aware of what track your train will be on.

Starbucks addiction to fancy coffee drinks can become a costly weekly habit, and it is worth exploring why? Is it primarily the sensory experience, the aroma, warmth, and texture that draws people in? Or is it the complexity of flavors and endless variety that keeps them coming back? For many, though, the daily ritual revolves around the caffeine's stimulating effects whether it is that morning jolt to start the day or an afternoon pick-me-up. However, I believe there is more to it. Much of our attachment to Starbucks and similar coffee brands is rooted in their social and cultural significance. These drinks have become symbols of a lifestyle, a way to connect, or even a small act of self-care in a busy world. And let us not forget the powerful role of marketing and branding. Ultimately, I think a person's relationship with coffee can evolve over time, shifting from mere caffeine dependence to a deeper appreciation or even a social ritual. Regardless of the reasons, here I am, finding myself in Penn Station in need of a caffeine fix. The Starbucks here is presentable, and the service is wonderful, making it the perfect spot to pause, recharge, and prepare for what is next.

This is a very convenient Starbucks. It's located between the LIRR, Amtrak, and the subway though closer to A,C,E (blue line) then the 1,2,3 (red line). When I went, there was 1 person in front of me. I ordered a green tea latte (forgetting it's really called matcha). The cashier had to ask someone before he realized it was the same thing. My bad since I forget the drink name sometimes. The order took a while even though there were a handful of mobile orders in front of me (3 drinks). There is an electronic screen to let you know where in the queue you are. Make sure you have time before you order. I have to say they did make the matcha latte to my liking. Thank you

If you are a native New Yorker or have ever been to New York, then you are probably fully aware or have heard of Pennsylvania Station (also known as New York Penn Station or simply Penn Station). Penn Station is the main intercity railroad station in NYC and is usually super busy and crowded. The station is located beneath Madison Square Garden in the block bounded by Seventh and Eighth Avenues and 31st and 33rd Streets and in the James A. Farley Building, with additional exits to nearby streets, in Midtown Manhattan. In 2021, the Moynihan Train Hall, an expansion of Penn Station into the Farley Post Office building as well as expansion of the LIRR concourse and a new direct entrance from 33rd Street to the LIRR concourse opened. At Penn Station, you can take the Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), NJ Transit (NJT), and the subway. I usually always take the LIRR and the subway. Starbucks always occupied this space by the departure tracks even before the renovations, but it is now open at the LIRR Concourse at Penn Station. It is convenient to grab a drink at Starbucks if you got some time to kill before your track number appears on the boards or before you board your train. Inside, it is very spacious. The cashiers are all the way in the back of the store and pick up is near the front. There was a screen to follow the status of your drink which I have never seen before. There is also artwork on the walls. After ordering, I waited about 5 minutes and my drink was ready.

This is one of those locations where its hustle and bustle, everyone's here for a second to pick up their drink, then off they go. In fact there is little to no seating here at all. I didn't check to see if they had WiFi, and there was really no need for me to do that. What I did see were close to ten employees taking orders and preparing coffee and drinks. I ordered an ice latte and it took literally 60 seconds for them to make it. I did not notice any types of pastries or cake treats, and my guess is that there is no demand for it. Fast just like the rest of New York City. This is not really a destination cafe where you would come to spend time with your friends. It really is geared for commuters and people who are in an rush to get somewhere.

This new Starbucks in Penn Station is an open cafe with so much space! I love that especially in the middle of New York City. Space is a luxury in NYC! The staff are exceptionally friendly, courteous and just on point in their service!!! I love this new space and new Penn Station we really needed it!

I came down to the usual Starbucks I go to on the concourse and it was closed so I continued to walk remembering there may have been another one on the other end. Well, lo and behold, in the middle section of the rugged space, there was a newly remodelled, expanded Starbucks waiting for me! The décor looked more like the reserved locations, with the lovely coffee map on the wall and the subdued natural brown wood, bronze and gold accents. The staff was bright and chipper ready to take my order fully masked with partitions. I felt really comfortable about ordering one of my favorite holiday drinks. While there was a wait, the music and baristas were entertaining while drinks were steadily rolling out for pickup and in-store guests. Glad to see I will not have to sweat it out down the hall in the original location. See you guys again soon.

We worked with Eric via email and he was great managing and making sure everything was settled ahead of the event. On the day of our lunch, we arrived around 20 minutes early and the table was already set up. We had two servers throughout the meal and they were lovely. They made sure everything was set up and we had everything we needed. For a large group reservation, they have a $60 minimum and you order everything ahead of time. (The afternoon tea set is mandatory for everyone to get). We had the afternoon tea set, caprese tarts and strawberry parfait for all attendees. The food was filling and tasty. Tea is always so good as well (I always get my Rose Lovers Milk Tea!) All in all, a great option for a group reservation in the city!

The size of both were the perfect amount since we just wanted something small to end the night. The ube crepe cake was really light and creamy. The ube flavor was pretty subtle, and I mostly tasted the cream. It's a perfect light dessert, but I would've liked the ube flavor to be stronger. The chocolate lava cake was super rich and decadent but also really delicious. I feel like it kinda battled with the ube crepe cake since they're total opposites. The staff were friendly. The interior was really cute and had a relaxing type of atmosphere that made it great for a nice place to sit, chat, and have dessert.

Favorite korean shaved ice spot in NYC! Very aesthetically pleasing interior with a lot of seating…read moreboth on the first and second floor, but can get very busy during peak hours. They have a wide variety of uniquely yummy Korean desserts, during my trips here most notably the Korean shaved ice. Very finely fluffy shaven ice which comes in two different sizes depending what flavor you pick (cup vs regular), each with a different topping/sauce combo. The strawberry one includes fresh strawberries and a strawberry jam drizzle that is just the right amount of sweetness--not too sweet. Also tried the ube which had mochi bits at the bottom, w/a deep flavor of ube drizzle that was yummy. This spot is pricey, which comes with the location yes, but do I think it's worth it? Yes. Would I bring friends out of town here? Yes. I've tried many many shaved ice dessert spots, and Seoul Sweets does an incredible job with the flavor combos and getting that perfectly soft, finely shaven, fluffy shaved ice (my preference: generally icy, hard shaved ice is no no imo for me) What I've Ordered Here Before: - Strawberry Shaved Ice - Ube Shaved Ice - Korean Donut Pastry

I was curious what makes ssal cakes different from typical flour. Honestly I was wondering if it…read morewould be chewy like mochi (it's not!). When I went at 7pm on a Thursday, they ran out of some of the ssal cake flavors, but luckily they still had the mugwort flavor which was the one I was aiming for. The plain cream one looks very angelic and attractive with the pale whiteness but for $1.50 more, I'd rather get a flavored version. Also I recall others saying that the plain one is a bit tasteless. The ssal cake ended up being super airy and light, even softer than a chiffon cake imo. It doesn't have oiliness, roughness, or acidity. Likewise, the cream matches the gentleness of the cake. The structure is interesting too, because the top layer of cream is thick, then a thin layer of cake, then a thin layer of cream, and a thick layer of ssal cake. When I eat it, I often get hit with the thick layer of cream on top while wishing there's more cake. Don't get me wrong, I like all components of it. I've had mugwort before but not super familiar with it. For those who've never had it before, mugwort tastes herbally and earthy kind of like the Chinese herb prunella vulgaris (?). The flavor here is strong but not in your face aggressive. I like how they dust the whole top with more mugwort powder which adds to the flavor and provides another layer of texture that's not overly dry (slightly messy tho!) I like how the mugwort is a greyish shade of green which honestly looks so chic and unique compared to other bright and colorful desserts nowadays. You can argue that the color looks dull, but I like it. My only complaints for the ssal cake are: 1) wish it came in a smaller size which would be easier to stomach (literally) and financially, 2) wish the cakes were in perfect squares. They're more rectangular without straight edges and 90 degree corners.
