New people working there very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful, are they not being trained in customer service?!?

Look, I am not one to leave bad reviews, but there is one worker here, Carl, that is rude even by my standards, because I don't expect 100% enthusiasm during a rush. I was left standing at the front counter for 5 minutes without even being acknowledged. Now look, I understand busy times, I know I'm going to have to wait, I don't mind waiting. What rubbed me the wrong way was he looked at me, rolled his eyes and walked over to the window to work the drive through. There was no, "I'll be with you in just a moment" or "let us get caught up real quick and then we will take care of you." Nothing. Just an eye roll and his back turned on me. Now when he finally did come over, after 5 minutes of me standing there, all I am greeted with is a "Yeah?" With this look on his face like I'm bothering him. I'm sorry, but that is horribly rude. I understand you're busy and you are in a rush to get back to other things, believe me, I don't care to wait. I just wanted one drink. The girl that made that drink was working super hard and made it perfect which is the only reason why this review is two stars instead on one. This morning I visited the drive-through. I frequent this location many times a week, always by myself. On this particular morning I was treating my 2 adult kids as well. We got to the speaker - they did not have the sandwich we ordered so we agreed to the one that was suggested as a replacement and asked for 2 of them plus one other sandwich. I completed my order at the speaker but also asked them to change one of the sandwiches to a different one. They confirmed the change and we pulled to the window, where we found a different person other than who took the order - saying that there is confusion and confirmed AGAIN the sandwiches. They were right, so I don't know why there was confusion. . At the window, the kids asked if they could order a coffee and I asked if it was too late to add 2 coffees - they said no. I knew exactly what they wanted so I instantly ordered them and paid. The employee asked me to pull forward and I gladly did so. When the order came to us outside, the employee said that she 'loved me' but that they pride themself on speedy service and next time I come, if I go to the drive through I need to know what I want or else i have to come inside. Confused, I looked at her and said "are you telling me I need to get my shit together or I can not come to your drive through?" she responded with "professionally and respectfully YES". There was zero conflict before this moment and the ONLY time I did not know what I wanted (I guess you can call it that) was when I got to the window with no cars in front of me after ordering at the speaker and asked immediately, if it was too late to add 2 drinks. I never mentioned to them that they made my coffee wrong and gave me the wrong protein bar, I did not care, not even after she was so passive aggressively rude with me. The entire transaction took no more than 4 minutes (from speaker to leaving) from what I recall. Regardless of anything - I don't think it is a company policy that you have a set number of seconds to order your drinks. I went right from the speaker to the window. I feel like they were being FAR too personal with me and stepping way out of bounds with the expectation and it was a very insulting and frustrating response to a regular customer just trying to buy some breakfast. read more

This is the best Starbucks I've ever been too,. Walking in I was warmly greeted and getting my order taken by the girl with a patchwork sleeve was amazing! Shes super polite and has great customer service, give this girl a raise! They even knew a homeless persons name and gave them water, its so nice to see acts of kindness like that. read more

Don't listen to Peter C's review. I was there when it happened and the incident that he clearly chose not to mention is that he unnecessarily shoved an older customer out of the way (who was in the process of moving) so that he could order. He also said some racist things like telling the lady to go back to her country because of her accent. He was rude, disrespectful, and he very quickly became aggressive when Tori stepped in to stand up for the older lady. They exchanged some words and he decided to cancel his order and storm out. Starbucks wants to be the Third Place for everyone where they can feel accepted and welcomed. They want all of their customers to not only feel respected but to also BE respectful of others. Peter was definitely not respectful to the older lady and Tori had every right to ask him to leave. read more

Going to another Starbucks in Smyrna made me appreciate this location so much more today. The staff is the best at Rutherford and will remember your name and order, it's always clean, and they have great customer service. I always have good vibes here and it's a wonderful feeling. I have had very few issues in the years that I have been going to this location and any time there is an issue, I feel like they go above and beyond to correct it. I'll see you guys later today! They also really pay attention to you and what you say from day to day :) it's simply a wonderful atmosphere and even though I'm not the biggest fan of Starbucks overall, this one has won my heart! Jeremy and the rest of the Starbucks team go out of their way to ensure I have a positive experience with every visit. A little on the small side, but it is want you will normally get in a Starbucks. Like a lot of coffee shops in college towns, there are a lot of regular customers. This Starbucks is very clean and the baristas are great. Good place to spend some time. The padded bench seats are the best seats here. You pass them as you walk in the front door. read more

I will go out of my way to go to this location. Christian is my favorite and knows me by first name. Drink order is always 100% correct.

It's Starbucks. Do I really need to say more? If I do, then I will note that the baristas are always very friendly, the coffee is good and I have always been able to grab a table. The only issue I have is that it can get very, very cold inside. I take a sweater with me, even in summer. read more

Typical Starbucks, overpriced coffee that you could probably make for less. Came in to this location to grab a random coffee concoction and work on homework. For two "grande" blended drinks the price was about $10 which is to be expected. Drinks came out fast and tasted pretty good. The only downside (and it became a big problem in the end) is the service. When our drinks were made, everyone was nice and efficient. As soon as the line died down, the gossip started. Seriously girls, no one wants to hear about your boyfriend's acne. Nobody cares about your workout regime. I'm a college student, I manage college students and I know that personal conversation is bound to happen but the ENTIRE STORE does not need to be able to hear it. Professionalism is such a key component to every customer service position and situations like this remind me of how truly difficult it is to find good customer service in this generation. Then again, what was I really expecting from Starbucks: a table side service with a view? Overall it's a typical Starbucks, I recommend you use the drive thru or bring some headphones to drown out the constant conversation around you. read more
