You hear Starbucks is investing in training their staff on customer service, but honestly I think this Starbucks missed the meeting. I'm staying at the Waterfront Marriott in West Virginia this week, so of course Starbucks is part of my daily routine.
Yesterday I placed my order only to find out after I paid and waited that they were sold out of my wrap. I thought oh well, I'll chose something else it was a simple mistake. They even handed me a coupon to say they were sorry and to come back and have any drink on them (coupon had NO RESTRICTIONS) I even asked the girl is it was good for anything on the menu, and she kindly replied "yes any drink any size".
So when I went today to order my drinks the same girl who helped me the day before needed assistance on how to redeem. So she asked for help and one of the rudest people I've encountered walked over asked her (in a aggravated voice) several questions, including why I was given this coupon? She explained why I was given the coupon and he grabbed it from her hand and took off the cheaper and smaller drink (that I ordered for someone else). When I asked him why I wasn't getting my drink free since it was my coupon and it had NO RESTRICTIONS he replied (in a very rude tone) "I'm the manager, so I should know how to do this"
My response was "If there's restrictions to a coupon I'm given because of your error to begin with it should state it. His response "sure I'll do that next time.
So after all that I had to pay for my Venti drink and take the smaller/cheaper drink as the free one. No good customer service came out of these past two days at this Starbucks. So considering we're here for 6 days buying drinks twice a day and breakfast once for 2 people, we'd rather walk to a coffee shop down the street for the remaining 4 days, instead of giving Starbucks and the "MANAGER" Matthew Westfall anymore undeserved business.
Starbucks, you really need to train this team on what good customer service looks like! read more
