It's a caffeine thing. No more, no less. Starbucks has tapped into a legal adult addiction and made it into candy. It's wrapped in pretty green and white colors, poured into a cup and they made a siren their mascot.
I am a frequent flyer here. It's just about the buzz. They can take a bitter drink like coffee and make it look like cotton candy on a hot summer day at the county fair. As many times as I've been here, never once have I ordered plain coffee. Nope. I want tons of sugar added, more flavored syrup, please! Then I want fluffy whipped cream and a blessing of pretty sprinkles to seal the deal. Is it good? No- it's delicious. Divine!
I love that you can use the app and order ahead. WOW! Now technology is helping me get my buzz! I love the different concoctions Starbucks can create so effortlessly. The customer service enablers have always been very nice and pleasant. They are more than willing to help me feed the monkey on my back. They do not bat an eye at my creative customized drinks although I am sure they snicker behind my back.
Starbucks is always clean and sterile looking. They do a great job at promoting fake ambiance with their decor. It looks kinda movie set fake but it works on some level. I am certain people do not come here for the decor.
The food at Starbucks is the weakest link. There are plenty of pastry and cake offerings which are difficult to screw up. Lately they have started adding sandwiches and breakfast items. Nothing I have tasted there has been amazing. I have been underwhelmed by their food items. The only time I even remotely found their food tasty was when I was in an airport and a Starbucks sandwich was my only option at dark-thirty.
I do think they are pricey, too. For what you get for your food, it is expensive. I would love to try their cake pops but it is outrageous to pay what they are asking. Also, I think the drinks get pricey, too. They charge for every little minuscule add-in and that ruffles me up, at times. I suppose people, like myself, will pay for their addiction whatever the cost.
This is not the best coffee in the world by any estimation. But once they put it through their magic fluff machines and make it come out all candyish you don't notice the quality of the coffee is lacking.
I guess as long as I am getting my caffeine, Starbucks is my vehicle of choice. read more
