Starbucks at 2008 N. Roan St. plays music so loud that you have to raise your voice to talk. It's a problem both inside& outside. My wife & I both asked them to lower the volume, but they refused. Also, tall, blonde, male worker was loudly singing along with the music. Another customer also complained 1 month ago about the loud music. We ended up going to Panera Bread to finish our breakfast. We won't be back to this Starbucks. The store owner needs to fix this unprofessional behavior. read more

Ooof, this location... I've attempted to get coffee at this drive thru 3 separate times, however, ended up bailing because 1) the line was obscenely long and 2) it moved so slowly! I would sit for 20 minutes and I wouldn't even be remotely close to ordering. I understand that this is the only drive thru in Johnson City, but yikes! I went today and had to bail due to the line. If I didn't have my baby with me, I'd be fine going inside. I decided instead to go somewhere local and get curbside delivery. read more

Business is full of workers who need to get a job elsewhere.. all had an attitude, was charged for to tall flat whites that were not my fav flat white drink. Didn't have the full shots and tasted flat. Coffee came out before the scone. Asked where the scone was and was motioned to go down where I ordered to look for my scone myself. The lattes are always superb, but the wait is incredibly long. I have yet to visit this location and not have the drive thru line so long I have to cut through it to enter the building on foot from the parking lot. Seriously--from open to close, there is never a break in the traffic of this location and perhaps another would be worthwhile in the JC market. This Starbucks is so slow. I've waited over 30 minutes for a Nitro Brew!! There we're very few people in the facility and the drive thru. I come by this Starbucks at least once a week during my commute between Asheville and Lynchburg. These guys always take care of me even when it's close to closing time. The staff is friendly, the drinks are always right, and the extra stuff is always stocked! This is the worst Starbucks myself or my family have ever been. We were traveling and decided to stop at this location for food and drinks. As soon as the cashier started to take our order she was immediately rude and seemed like we were an inconvenience to her day. This cashier had slightly blue died hair and if we had more time to stick around I would have gladly taken time out if my day to speak with the manager about how she should not be employed here. After this woman was inconvenienced by taking our order, she happened to be the one making our food. We waited about 15 minutes for 6 food items when no one else was ahead of us. She was putting other people's food in before ours and then after we finally got our food, we decided to double check. Thankfully we did check because she didn't give us cream cheese for either of our 2 bagels and when I asked politely if we could have cream cheese she continued on to tell me that cream cheese doesn't come with the bagels. I said I understand that but we ordered two cream cheeses so we should've gotten two, and as she gave me them she couldn't be bothered to even look at me. Highly recommend people to not go to this location and if they are avoid this cashier AT ALL COSTS, and if you are dealing with this woman, good luck! read more

This Starbucks is a great spot in Johnson City. It has free wifi along with lots of seating which makes it ideal for studying or hanging out. The staff is always friendly and very helpful when suggesting new drinks to try. I suggest getting a Starbucks gift card and registering it. My wife and placed a Mobile order for the sake of being fast. We get there to pick up our drinks in the store. The front doors were locked with a hand written sign saying "our doors will open at 12:30." I called to see if they could bring out our drinks, they said it was easier if we just went through the drive through. The drive through line took over 10 minutes. read more

I have been going to this location for years. It has many good and bad points and at different times the score would have been lower or higher - much has to do with the management and I know the staff works long hours many times short staffed. I landed on a four star because of the new Clover brewing system - my last two trips I tried the Clover coffee and it is really a superior cup of coffee -- very well done Starbucks .. still innovating. Many times I will order regular coffee and get a free refill which is a nice benefit. Downside is this is a very busy location with a small parking lot and a very long drive through line. I actually have better luck going in and getting coffee then the drive through many days and it clogs up the parking lot. The interior re-design is nicely done and makes it feel updated and more spacious. On nice days the outdoor sitting is great -- very nice place to have a cup of joe. I am not that impressed with the hot prepared foods -- this is an area that Starbucks still really needs to work on .. I was there when they first starting serving them to great fanfare but they really have not kept it up and the price is not right for me. The baked goods are still quite good like the fat free muffins. I understand that many of them are locally sourced which makes me feel good about buying them. Overall this location is good although quite busy and can be slow to get service. The free internet is great and there are many students that study and gather here which is nice. read more

I have many edits to my drink, and they always get it right. The staff is friendly and it's clear they're working hard to get everyone's orders to them at all times. But you work in customer service, you shouldn't be standing there ON YOUR PHONE. Then after the fact of me standing there for more than 3 minutes you wanna cock attitude at me. Because I didn't know what I wanted to order just yet, and the drink I wanted to order she told me the only big size she can get is a grande. And I'm sorry, if I'm not wrong is that not the smallest y'all have? There wasn't anyone behind me, but she made me feel as if I needed to rush my order. And I really don't know why. Then very quietly asked my name. Then gave me the stink eye when I said I'm sorry because I couldn't hear her. I don't know if she was having a bad day or if she just shouldn't be in customer service but every time I go in there I never have an issue up until lately. The place doesn't look clean, they never put the drinks where you can see the name. And the people just got more rude. Maybe it's a management issue or something but it obviously hasn't been acknowledged. This is also a why most places have a "no phone" policy. Because if your boyfriend breaks up with you in the middle of your shift you don't have to take it out on customers. Again, never had an issue up until lately. It's a pretty standard Starbucks, but I've always had a pleasant experience here. The staff is friendly and helpful. They've never messed up an order for me. I met here with my book club and we love how comfortable it is for our small group. It's definitely busy during peak times though, which seems to be all the time. read more

I have been to Starbucks all over the country and this one is by far the worst. They are so slow. You will spend 15-30 mins in the drive thru waiting and another 5-10 at the window. I am lactose intolerant and always order almond milk, and 8 times out of 10 get regular milk and have to go back. And with this location you cannot simply just park again to go back in to get it fixed. You have to leave the drive way and find a place to turn around and go back only to wait longer for them to fix it. They never talk to you at the window while you're waiting, they are either on the head set or helping make drinks. It's a clean store and had a nice big lobby but they need some help with the flow, beverage making and customer service. read more

Good drinks, but this is the longest wait ever for a supposed quick coffee. The ONLY reason I ever go here is that it's the only Starbucks in the area and my parents keep sending me Starbucks gift cards for Christmas and birthdays. I timed my wait this time. Love coming here for caramel macchiatos either iced or hot. and the addition of free wifi helps too!
