Edgar Allan Poe themed coffeehouse with dark academia vibes and a huge seating area in the back. The interior decor is very unique, including a cozy fireplace and two autographed photos of Giancarlo Esposito, who played Gus Fring in both "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul". read more

This is a superb place for a strong cup of coffee! It may not look promising on the outside, but once you enter this place, you'll be glad you took the extra detour to get here. The interior has a cute roasting station. I spoke briefly with the manager/owner (Greg) who has operated in this location for about 5 years. I had a large cup of brewed coffee (it was a medium roast) with 2% milk. Wow! This delightful cup of coffee kept me awake for the remaining drive. Note to readers - this is more of a "grab-n-go" place that does not have much indoor seating. Thank you Yelp for leading me to this coffeehouse tucked in a hidden area of Johnson City, TN. If you're a student at ETSU, it's worth the 5-6 minute drive to get freshly brewed coffee here. If you are driving between Asheville, NC and Abingdon, VA and sorely in need of something a bit stronger than a cup of coffee at Starbucks, I would recommend Pike House Coffee in a heartbeat. read more

Cool gothic/Edgar Allen Poe vibe inside. Didn't expect that from the outside! Oh, and great coffee too!

I'm here at least once a week if not more lol so that should tell you that this is the prime boba spot in the Tri cities area for sure. They usually have themed drinks throughout the year. Currently it's Narnia so the ambience inside the place is very cozy and beautiful. My fav go-to drink a black tea with brown sugar and lavender milk tea with tapioca. If you're not sure what to get, I'd recommend this as a starter as it's a classic and you can try out different things since they have so many options. And it's dairy free which is always a plus!! Also something else I love, you get what you pay for since the drink isn't mostly ice which is such a common practice when ordering iced drinks. They now have a study area spot in the back too so it's a good place with chairs or sofa to get some work done! The owners are sometimes hanging out at the place and they always check up on you and are very friendly! You can also sign up for rewards which is nice if you're a regular at the place. 10/10 read more

What an AWESOME Poe themed cafe!! Seemingly small and cozy, then, BAM a whole backend of the building with a fireplace and ample space!! The staff members were warm, welcoming and happy! They gave a tour of the beautiful building and all the plans they have for renovations and updates (good lord what a beautiful place it is!!) I am in love with Tennessee but I tell you what, I'd come back solely for this place and these folks read more

My first cafe that I've tried in Johnson City! Great Atmosphere, plenty of space. They have a huge coworking space that you may not see at first glance, but whoever is working will be happy to show you! I ordered an iced latte and bagel and was happy with the service and the suggestions made by the barista. Will be back to read and work when I get the chance! read more

Visited Pike House Coffee Roasters at the Johnson City Farmers Market on Saturday. Enjoyed an iced caramel latte and treated myself to a bag of their Edgar Allen Poe coffee. I love the EA Poe themed deliciousness & coffee shop. They were nice enough to offer to grind the beans at their coffeeshop on my way home. I enjoyed the heavenly aroma as I drove back to Greeneville from Johnson City. Their cafe is warm and welcoming with a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely be back when I'm visiting JC in the future, thank you! read more

If I could give them six stars I would. The Cafe Americano was truly silky and complex but not bitter yet strong. About as good as it gets. The staff are super friendly and a please to talk to. Amazingly good place. read more

If I could not even mark one star, I would. My husband and I ordered two matcha lattes. His was so hot that he burned his tongue and lip. After 10 minutes I tried it and burned my lips and tongue as well. I tried his drink to see if it was better than mine. They both were so bad I poured them out. I've had drinks I didn't like, but never a drink so bad I dumped it. I don't know what was made for us, but it was not a matcha latte. It tasted like a bit of coconut and a weird syrup flavoring. I'm not even sure what exactly. I've never tasted something so horrendous! Don't waste your money. I paid over $10 for the two drinks. read more

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! SO AWESOME YOU HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT! If you are looking for a mysterious environment and well crafted coffee look no further! From the minute you walk in your senses are touched with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and a spooky atmosphere based around poetry. The quality and design that was invested into this coffee shop makes it completely stand out from the rest! On days that I feel antisocial I can find a quiet place by the fire to work or study. On my extroverted days I'll sit inside by the window drinking a perfectly brewed cup of coffee and watching them roast their own beans. Not only is the coffee quality this place has top notch customer service! YOU TRULY FEEL LIKE FAMILY. The owners have created an atmosphere where ALL are welcome. They're motto is to make everyone feel apart of a community. Everyone has a seat at the table at Pike House Coffee. Come, hangout, join a book club here, make some new friends, or even study. This place has become so special to me and my heart for community & coffee. I hope it does the same for you too! read more

Awesome coffee, some of the best cold brew I've had. Really cool theme too. Wish we lived in the area so we could go regularly

Super nice staff and the coffee is amazing! Great place to come study and get away. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Perfect study spot!

My wife was at hospital so I went looking for some real coffee to cheer her up. This place was close but I have to say it is BEST coffee in tri cities that I have had . Actually make the Starbucks I have this morning, because Pikes was closed on labor day, taste bad. I'll be back at pikes tomorrow morning. Oh and my wife started recovering after drinking Pikes two days ago, not sure if it had anything to do with it but the coffee is magical. read more
