This place was absolutely incredible. I don't even live in the city, but every time I come in from out of town, I make sure to stop in here. This is the best coffee shop in Johnson City. And I am an avid coffee drinker. All of their syrups are homemade and taste better than anything I've ever had in my life. I had a eggnog latte and it was absolutely amazing. Very cute coffee shop concept! They have a good variety of local art to look at while you wait in your drink. They even have a tiny thrift corner and book store area. My husband ordered an Americano (black) and enjoyed it. I had their matcha which does come pre sweetened. I prefer a matcha with no sweeteners so that's why I dropped 1 Star. It's nice to have a non sweetened option for those who are diabetic or just prefer it that way. This spot has easy parking and is located in a strip mall near a dispensary and huge consignment store. Cute cafe, they make all their flavor syrups in house, and the lavender syrup is the best lavender flavor I've ever had at a coffee shop.

Lovely little space ! Comfy seating, great use of a smallish space so it doesn't feel cramped . Fun seasonal coffee and tea menu- had a fun matcha latte with raspberry and a London fog with rose. Their menu is a little bit different or quirky. But I ordered the black dog which is vanilla and honey with blackberry cold foam. I didn't taste blackberry at all but it was very good, just needed a lil sugar. They have seats to sit in but if you have a big butt like me, you have to sit sideways. So they should probably get some bigger chairs. read more

We were in Johnson City for the weekend and came across this spot by accident, and we're so glad we did! We had an hour and half to kill while waiting for the restaurant next door and decided to wander in here. You're instantly greeted by the cozy decor and friendly staff. We found out that this is actually a coffee shop during the day, which would be a great spot to study or get some work done. Since we were here at night though we decided to try out some of their large selection of beer. I ended up choosing a cider that was delicious! We didn't order any food, but they had a great selection of appetizers to pick from and i would definitely come back to try some! read more

One star because the atmosphere is great. Everything else is awful. I've given this coffee shop multiple chances and been very disappointed every time.... "Fresh brewed" drip coffee that's barely like warm, $4 "double" espressos that are small and cold, flat champagne.... There have been a few times that I've waited for several minutes at the counter and then left after being ignored. My most recent visit was my last visit. I asked the lady at the register for a small cup of milk on the side (I had ordered a double espresso), and she rang in a $3.50 golden milk (an actual drink). I questioned her about it, and she informed me "well it's just milk with cinnamon, so yeah, I'm still charging that". I asked her to remove it, which she did with a huff. When my coffee came, I asked for cream (pretty common offering at a coffee shop). She glared at me, said "that's a cortado and an up charge ", and literally slammed a carton of cream down in front of me. Incredibly rude, and she wasn't even right about what a cortado is. read more

I don't think its possible to love Blue's Brews more than I do. Everything I have tried has been absolutely amazing. I met a friend there one day so she could try and now she is really addicted and even bought their concentrate. They have their regular menu and a seasonal menu. I never liked syrups in coffees until now. They make their syrup in house so it isn't disgustingly sweet. This place is named after the owner's dog so, of course, they have a pup cup if your fur baby goes along. They use Telos coffee so its local. The baked goods come from Downtown Sweets. For vegan milks they have oat, soy, and coconut. I highly recommend oat. My omnivore friend is even using that one because its so good. I just need to get one of their concentrates so I can even have their coffee treats in the office. Go, just go. Thank me later. read more

Very quick and convenient, it has local animal rescue items for sale oh, and who doesn't like a coffee shop that loves animals? They also have very environmentally friendly coffee cups and lids, and as someone who hated when California banned straws, and fact that may have been why I moved from there, sew-ins on these drinks are very nice and it's also good to know that I'm not harming the planet well I'm drinking coffee that was roasted locally! read more

Don't get me wrong, this place is really cute and the baristas are super friendly n chill, but as someone who loves coffee (and has tried A LOT) this isn't my fav spot. I'm a student at ETSU and love to try new things around JC so I knew I had to try the famous Blue's Brew's when they opened their brick and mortar location since I've heard so much about. I tried my usual oat milk latte and I was truly so disappointed. I was really annoyed to see that my almost $7 latte was made with a really cheap oat-milk and the espresso and syrups really had no flavor. It tasted like a watered down, weak pot of coffee. Also, why is a tiny pizza bagel $7?? You only get a half slice of a bagel with barely any toppings...I think it would at least be fair if a whole bagel was used? I think too much is trying to be done at once here which equally amounts to quality being overlooked. I really don't like leaving somewhat negative reviews, but for what I paid and what I received left me super disappointed. Only thing I can't speak for are the alcoholic beverages, but I've at least heard good things about that. Seating is also very limited so if you're someone trying to get work done or enjoy a little coffee date, good luck finding a spot. To me it begs the question though, of why even be a coffee shop when, to me, it wasn't even good? read more

Blue's Brews uses local coffee (Telos) and has homemade syrups! They are super environmentally conscious and have such great customer service. The owner is awesome and takes her customer feedback seriously. You can tell that the quality of their drinks is important :) Can't wait to try everything! read more
