I can't stand Starbucks . They are over priced and the wait staff is very unfriendly. I went to the one on Richmond and one of the waitresses there had a flip out because I forgot my mask.. Was driving through Texas on my way back to home. Stopped here. Worst decision ever. I had multiple options for starbucks (there's always at least 3-4 within a 5 min drive) and this one is obviously the worst one in the area. The manager, I believe her name was Alexis, was shockingly rude to customers (myself included) and employees. It was busy, so I understand things are hectic but I've seen a lot worse situations at other Starbucks. You don't always have time to stop and chat, but one of the employees and I were talking about what I had ordered when she interrupted. This was my first time at this location. I stopped in to get some work done but it turns out this isn't the best place for that. Not only was it incredibly loud inside but the place was freezing. My sweater wasn't enough, I needed a hat and gloves. I don't know what they have the thermostat on but those two factors made it hard to concentrate on work. Also, the store was kind of dirty. Next to my table was a pile of trash and dirt that sat there for my entire hour and a half visit. On the bright side, my drink was made perfectly and my food was good. I got a S'mores Créme Frappucino and the Bacon & Gruyere Sous Vide egg bites. The frappucino was great and they didn't add coffee to it like other stores tend to do even after I tell them not to. The egg bites were creamy with a slightly crunchy top for a nice texture contrast. The layout of the store was nice and the employees were friendly and inviting so I'll probably return again soon. read more

I gotta say that I hit this location atleast three or more times a week. It's conveniently on the way to where I, and most of the clear lake ares, places of employment. They are always reasonably speedy. Their have been times that the wait has been over five minutes but, in their defence, the line of cars was nearly into the street. The staff is always friendly and they were quick to remember me and my order. Tina especially fits this description. She's friendly and conversational and, I don't mean she is that awkward kind of conversational that one unfortunately get subjected to at places like supercuts. I for one really do appreciate that in a big bad way. Also it should be noted that from my experience, they are less pushy when it comes to the seasonal sales and what not. I aprecate it that they tell me about them, but once I decline they don't continue with pushing the products. Some places will keep it going for a few beats. "Are you are????" and "Awww c'mon, get it for yourself. Splurge and treat yourself alittle." Yea those are real quotes that a grown man said to me while I was waiting like a hostage until receiving my personal drug of choice. This visit sucked beans. As usual, the music was loud. I asked the store manager, Jeremy, to turn it down. He replied, "You're sitting in the loudest part of the store." A barista walked over to a control pad, turned the volume way down for all of one second, and returned it to either its previous level or to a level negligible from the original. Based on the barista's demeanor - action and a particularly unfriendly look cast my way - she shared the manager's sentiment. I requested a second time the volume be lowered. After listening through two more tunes, I again noticed no difference. Having ordered nothing to eat or drink, I grabbed my gear and walked to the manager who asked, "You out of here, Gary?" I said yes and continued, "I've requested two times that the music be turned down and nothing's been done about it. Nobody in a conversation should have to talk over the music in order to be heard." He replied, "Sorry, Gary." I answered, "No you're not, or you would have turned it down." Most puzzling of all is, he and I have known each other since he was trained for management (at another store) and we've joked and gotten along well for the entirety of our acquaintance. I wonder how he treats strangers who've made the same request. There's a pretty good chance I'll never find out because no plans exist for a future visit. Why in the world would I walk back into a business that made me feel unwelcome and intimidated? I was denied satisfaction to a reasonable request and instead was given lip and lip service. It sucked. Shortly afterwards, I followed up my experience with an online chat with a Starbucks customer-service representative who explained during our conversation that store management had been alerted of the issue and the problem would be fixed. That's hard to swallow to a cheapskate who is watching calories! This is a nicely sized location and the drinks/food are always good. They have several tables, a ton of coffee accessories to buy, and several outdoor tables, which are normally occupied by the smokers. I haven't been in a while but the servers used to always be good, I am pretty sure it hasn't changed since I would say this is the main Starbucks of Clear Lake.
