Val W.

I'm not a big coffee drinker, but my husband is so sometimes, I indulge in a coffee drink. This isn't the best Starbucks I've been to but it's definitely not the worse. (The worse goes to a Starbucks I visited at an airport.) Overall, it meets my infrequent need for a caffeinated coffee drink and it's close to where I live. The employees have always been nice when I visited and I've never had to wait too long to get my items. I love the oatmeal, especially the agave nectar that comes with the oatmeal. When I do get a drink, I normally get the tall soy white mocha. To me, it's like hot chocolate with espresso. Sometimes, I get the iced tea at Starbucks and I've never been disappointed by my selection. I normally choose something fruity or something made with green tea. The drive thru at this location normally moves kind of slowly. If you order through the Starbucks app, you can literally walk in and get your things with little to no wait. This location is conveniently located so the next time I get an urge for a latte, I'll stop by again.

If you want to sit in the drive thru for over 30+ minutes, go for it. Slow, slow, slow. #ineedcoffee

Terribly upsetting to find out this store fired my favorite barista because she has been sick with Covid and flu. Won't be going back here.

This location is NEVER open! I've been several times these last couple weeks and it'll randomly close at 2pm.

This was the first location of Baba Java and has since expanded through the city. Ran my Omani entrepreneurs, this little coffee shop became quite popular over the years. The staff working here are mostly teenagers or college students, who are very attentive and professional despite their young age. The owner clearly picked out incredible folks to be here who make Baba Java feel both welcoming and well kept. The interior of the space is fairly basic coffee shop design, but admittedly, a little bit dated in 2026 and lacks the unique vibe of some other independent coffee shops. Window views facing the strip mall parking lot don't create much of an ambiance either. With that said, design is not the main thing to come here for. The coffee is excellent and priced very reasonably, offering a great value for an establishment of this sort. There is easy to access WiFi and an overall feeling of being welcomed. A solid little coffee shop that allows customers to support some local business owners instead of a big chain.

When you get to the light at the corner of 31 and Pelham Park Blvd, just look to the right and you'll see a quaint little white building. Behind it is the Pelham Public Library which looms over Bullet and to the other side of Bullet is Edgars Bakery. As mentioned BC has been there about a year now. The other BC is on 280 and there's one more in Fairhope. All are owned by the same individual who also owns their sister store the Red Mountain Expresso. BC is not technically another "pop up" coffee place because this is actually a brick and concrete building albeit it's just big enough to be a full service drive thru, but it doesn't have any seating inside or out. Just a drive thru. The drive-thru is planned nicely so it's easy to get to the order window then around to the pickup/pay window. Their menu options long and diverse but also typical of any coffee place. They also serve fresh daily sausage biscuits and pimento cheese biscuits. They have specialties like the Turtle latte, Classics like cold brew, blended drinks like frappes and non coffee drinks like iced teas and chai. I was lucky today because they are in middle of running a special called Frappy Hour good for another week. From 3-6pm all medium frappes are $2! I tried the Java Chip and Cookie & Cream. She asked me if I wanted the "coffee" or "milk" based. The coffee is the traditional way but the milk would be more like a milkshake. I chose coffee. I didn't get whipped cream which was offered. I only had to wait a couple minutes after paying. She even gave me a frequent visitor card. Get 10 drinks, get the 11th free! The cookies and cream was good, but the java chip was even better. Nicely blended, cool and refreshing on this warm afternoon. Yom Yom Yom Yom. It hit the spot! Welcome to Pelham BC!

When I arrived, there was at least seven cars in front of me, which was a good sign. The drive-through is a little narrow. You order through one window and then you pick up on the other side of the window. I ordered an iced rush-hour coffee and after lighthouse which I got. The consistency was creamier than I would've liked other iced coffees. I've had are more liquidy. It was good. It wasn't the best. I probably will be back to try the other different flavors. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Besides the drive-through you can also walk up and get coffee. This is right in front of the Pelham library which is nice because before or after you go the library can get you a little treat.

I tried the iced Aden latte (espresso, milk, pistachio and lavender) and it's the best coffee off of lakeshore. None of the flavors were overpowering the others. I also ordered a biscoff crepe and a sabaya. The sabaya was flaky and crispy, smothered in delicious honey. It wasn't the thickest sabaya but I enjoyed it! The biscoff crepe was so decadent. The crepe itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture for such a delicious crepe. The fruit given with it also paired well with the drizzled sauce.
