It's a certified B corp which means all their ingredients are sustainably and ethically sourced! That's a big plus! The place is so nicely designed with so many places to sit. Big beautiful windows let in lots of sun and natural light. I love sitting outside in the summer taking in the energy of downtown. You can tell this place really puts a lot of effort into caring and supporting their local community! This is the ideal local coffee shop. But making that decision for the customer is very pretentious.

The bowl I got was $15, so at that price point, I already had high expectations. Only 2 base choices that day - Pitaya and the blue stuff- since Açai was unavailable. Pitaya is hit or miss usually, some places are good, others just taste like ice with a hint of flavor. The girl handed me my bowl while looking down at her on her phone, making no eye contact. Anyway, taste test! Unfortunately the pitaya had no flavor and the rest of the bowl just kind of flopped. Granola was almost flavorless and could use a little more sweetness. I'm wondering if it was just an off day? I'm willing to come back again at some point. Just not anytime soon.

Normally I get a sheet cake, but they didn't have any, so they told me they were giving me a 7 inch round When I picked it up, it was in a sealed box, so I didn't discover until I got home that the cake had a hard chocolate coating rather than just the plain buttercream frosting I had expected. When I called the store simply to understand what had happened, the woman I spoke with was argumentative and dismissive. She repeatedly told me that that cake "always comes that way" and that I "should have known." I explained that I had never received it that way before and had every reason to believe I was ordering the same traditional cake with buttercream frosting that I had purchased previously since that's what I had asked for in my phone conversation to order the cake. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of courtesy. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything for free--I simply wanted to understand why I had received something different from what I thought I had ordered. A simple, "I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding," would have been more than sufficient. Instead, what should have been a very simple conversation became unnecessarily unpleasant. The cake was disappointing, but the customer service was far worse.
