Just when you least expect it, there it is: a parking problem in suburban Geneva. This Starbucks was a choice spot for my makeshift bi-weekly homework bunker, but parking was a chore. The itty-bitty strip mall-type setting shares a parking lot with a budget hair cut chain, a small massage chain and a Chipotle. This is my go-to Starbucks for a number of reasons: Conveniently located, open later than others in Geneva, and it's more spacious (and with a variety of seating options) than most Starbucks locations! From comfy chairs with side tables and reading lamps to tables with booth/chair seatings, bar seating, and a big table, there's plenty of options if you're there to read, work, meet with friends, or just relax. I typically do mobile order in the mornings because it can get super busy! I never even bother trying to get to the drive-thru anymore when I'm not my way to work, but if you have 15 minutes you could try. Parking is usually fine (pro tip: on the north side of the location there's an entire parking lot, avoid the front during busy times and just go to the north side). I took off one star because customer service isn't always the best. There have been mornings where I slip in to pick up my mobile order and nobody even sees me, let alone says hi or thank you! I used to visit (and loved, but it's no longer on my commute) the downtown Geneva location because they were friendly and cheerful and would always greet customers and send them off with a "have a good day!" read more

Not a very responsive or attentive staff since the latest management change. One or two great smiling faces behind the counter but the rest are impersonal and almost irritated to be working. Missed orders, long wait times while other who I reserved after you get their orders before you(food)... unfortunately, this particular store has declined in service tremendously in the past couple years. I just purchased an espresso maker from this location and the wonderful baristas were so kind and helpful. It seemed like st first I wouldn't be able to purchase one but they called it think another store so I would be able to get one right then. The cashier especially was kind and joyful. Starbucks usually always has amazing customer service but this particular visit was just the best I've ever had. Of the Starbucks options in Geneva (and you have three), this one takes the cake. Its the largest of the stores, and so you don't feel as though you are sitting right on top of another patron, unable to avoid listening to his/her conversation, as you do at the Geneva Commons location. Moreover, you can actually get work done here, as it is never noisy, unlike the downtown location, which sounds like a concert hall, complete with loud music and boisterous patrons. I don't know why this particular Starbucks has so much open space - they could certainly fit a few more tables in - but I appreciate it. The staff here is friendly, and doesn't try to push the "flavor of the week" on you as the downtown Starbucks staff does. Plus, there's a drive-thru here, which I appreciate, as I don't always want to get out of the car when I'm on my way to work or class. That being said, I have waited up to 10 minutes in the drive-thru, so if you're in a hurry, go inside! read more

The slowest Starbucks. You could be one of three people in the store and it'll still take 20 minutes for you to leave. Most of the employees are really nice but seriously don't come here if you have anything do after your stop or want the correct drink. read more

Crabby Male Employee in the drive through this busy morning on April 19. Getting a Starbucks these days is a treat for me, so it's not done regularly for me anymore. I think what irritates me the most about this location lately is that every time I order a Cafe Mocha and ask them kindly to add whip, they get snippy or sarcastic about the drink coming with whip automatically. Fine. Ok. But, then the last three times, it is served without whip after they made a 'thing' of it. Come on! I'm trying to treat myself ;). I'm really not a fan of this Starbucks. I live 5 minutes away and it always takes me at least 30 minutes because the wait time is SO long. Even when there's less cars than usual, it's so slow. This is the only one in the area with a drive thru so my suggestion is to either make another drive thru or just move faster because the amount of unnecessary time I spend here is crazy. read more

Speed of service is on point, but parking spaces are somewhat limited at peak times. I always have a good experience here, and out of thousands of orders over the years, ONLY ONE has been given to me incorrectly. Just giving a shoutout to the barista who was handling drive-thru this afternoon. The car line was pretty long, and there was a bit of a wait... But as I got up to the window, I quickly realized they were in the middle of a shift change, since she was was telling the other workers where their places were - all while simultaneously taking orders for the drive-thru and making our drinks. She was apologetic about the wait, and then handed me my two drinks and said "here, these are on me today. We appreciate your patience." I'm a big Starbucks fan, but not at this particular location. This review is more about the parking lot/drive through than the store itself, but the exterior also reflects on the store, so here we go. This past Sunday I visited at approximately 1pm, and there were no empty parking spots in the entire strip mall that this Starbucks sits in, so I decided to go through the drive through. The entire drive was full of cars and there were 2 more cars waiting to get in along with myself. So now I have at least a 2 minute wait time to just sit and wait to even get into the drive through. In the meantime, I had a guy that was sitting in his parking spot honking at me to get out of the way. Not a relaxing moment, and needless to say, I left and stopped by the Starbucks in Aurora on Orchard which was much less crazy. So Starbucks, if your store is going to sit in a busy strip mall with a million other customers just waiting to get in your business, you may want to find a way to fix your parking situation. I'd hate to see this place on a busy weekday morning. read more

All Starbucks are not created equal. Something that separates one from another is the atmosphere. Several factors contribute to this, including the behavior of the baristas. The (mostly male) workers at the Starbucks on Randall Road in Geneva are definitely the loudest, most obnoxious and unprofessional group I've ever encountered in any coffee shop, not only Starbucks. I've been to this place a handful of times this summer simply because its location is convenient, but I have decided not to go there anymore. The staff are constantly clowning around with each other, clapping, singing and shouting back and forth to each other, and generally making noise in any way they can find, often to the neglect of customers needing service. It really disrupts things when you're trying to work, study or carry on a conversation--things that many people like to do at coffee shops. I've seen other customers frown, roll their eyes, and even walk out because it is so bad. When I was in there this afternoon, one of the workers--a tall, thin blond boy--was having the time of his young life popping plastic packing-bubbles that some of the Starbucks products had been delivered in. He was laughing his head off, oblivious to how these loud noises were affecting the customers, while his two bearded co-working brosephs egged him on with glee. They were like a bunch of little kids at Chuck E. Cheese's. Buyers beware: If you plan to enjoy a chat with a friend or get a little work done over your favorite beverage, stay away from the Starbucks on Randall Road in Geneva at all costs. read more
