this place sucks.. Customer service sucks.. can't get the order right.. overall SUCKS

I always go to this place for occasional sweet coffees, but the quality varies depending on the baristas. This location is amazing!!! I've never had a bad experience here. They are attentive, happy, kind, and fast! Before the pandemic, as soon as I would walk in I would be greeted, and would be in and out within a few minutes. They really know what they're doing and how to have quick service! Also, whenever I place a mobile order it's ready when I get there (unlike some other stores that I've been to) and they're also clean!!! And the bathrooms aren't scary to walk into. With the new system they're using during this crisis, they're still fast! I have never had to wait outside for more than a few minutes, and if you need something extra they're happy to assist! Everyone I've encountered here has a good attitude and are still smiling (under their masks, at least). This is one of my favorite locations. I come here sometimes because my boyfriend lives 2 minutes away. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. I asked the woman at the register for an iced matcha latte with almond milk. The guy who was going to make it came up behind her and said "just say green tea latte, you're going to confuse people if you say matcha." He said it in a very rude way and then he walked away and he was mad and kept mumbling to himself saying green tea latte, not matcha latte. EXCUSE ME?! He put zero effort into making the drink that it was so chunky. I can't even drink it without getting chunks of matcha in my straw. Next time, put effort in your job and shake it before you put it in my cup. read more

Visiting from out of town recently, I went to this Starbucks for some breakfast. The cashier was rude and appeared to hate the fact that she had to serve the public. So much so in fact that she got my order wrong and then snapped at another employee when she was asked a simple question. I literally spent 20 mins waiting for a Chai and a breakfast sandwich. I am a very friendly and polite human being and this experience really rubbed me the wrong way. To whomever manages this location, please consider hiring employees who enjoy working with the public. read more

Nothing's worse than having to wait 12 minutes online for a drink only to find out they don't have the ingredients....Oh wait there is, add lousy service, No smiles, an unengaged manager and the wrong size drink you didn't want to begin with- thats made incorrectly and you have my Sunday at this Store. Not sure why the further I am from Hoboken the worth the customer service becomes. May be that was a coincidence. Or may be I gotta get used to the new Korean neighborhood. May be it is both. Well, we'll see. This place was overcrowded with tons of people and the line seems to move fast. I've stood there for 30 mins and non of the seats were near to available. Just a note to the management; please put some notices regarding the overall time people could seat there, or to "live" there using your free wifi. I have nothing against it, as I am sometimes become that type of jerk myself when it comes to run some tasks after my working hours, but hey, I have some respect towards others too, when I see that there are lots of people who would also want to work a little bit. Customer service not that great, all they do is talk to each other and don't acknowledge you. I come in almost every day for an iced chai latte with whole milk and they never make it right never. It taste like I ordered a cup of milk with ice. My last visit to this location was a month ago haven't been back since. If I wanted milk with ice I would have made it at home and not pay 5 dollars for a cup of milk. read more

This is the place that people go to when the Barnes and Nobles down the road is closed. Mostly filled with Korean folk who are studying or pretending to be studying while they gossip with their friends. Cool, clean place but nothing special. Not bad for grabbing a cup of joe while catching up on your weekend reading. read more

Usually good service, but today service was really crappy. Slow baristas and once one of them finished making my drink, she put it on the counter where it stayed for 5 minutes until another barista moved it to the receiving station. In all, took 15 minutes to make my drink, + they served people who ordered after me before they served me. Oh and this plaza is disgusting, filled with unsavory types and smokers. read more

Good ------- Just got redecorated. Bearable WiFi. Bathroom slightly cleaner then most other Starbucks. Plenty of parking. Supermarket, Chipoltle and Italian place next door. So get the food elsewhere and get the hot drinks at Starbucks. Staff does NOT like cleaning outside food, so clean up after oneself. Not exactly a cozy mom and pop cafe one pictures in the traditional sense. Very corporate. Hard seats and such. But the ambience is fresh and the lighting good for both reading and laptops. Bad ----- Staff are often LOUD, currently as of this writing one staff is literally smashing metal cups, metal lids and other things. Tin ! Clang ! Clunk ! Another staff is screaming animal sounds to amuse the female staff. Oh wait, now he is imitating a appliance alarm (it is loud). Oh Joy !! And to think we don't have to pay admission for his performances. In between it is none stop shouting conversation between the staffs. This is on top of the noises that have to be made such as the garbage disposal (yes, it is in the seating area behind the counter) and the appliance alarm (which take the staff several minutes to turn off). The outlets are missing in some areas. Typical small selection of factory made, dried out old bakery. Edible, just don't expect that fresh baked taste and smell. No worse or better than other Starbucks. In a pinch the sandwiches make for a descent snack. Conclusion -------------- For me convenience is important. I love that there is a cafe in walking distance to where I reside. The WiFi is mediocre but better now that Google took over the WiFi. The environment is loud. Sometimes people are even using their smart phones as a open boom box. Not exactly a intellectual or artistic scene one pictures of a suburban cafe. People use it to meet their online dates. A bit embarrassing seeing a young Asian girl in her teens with a white male in his 70's. NOT joking, happens often enough that I no longer get surprised, but still disgusting. There are the college crowd with their laptops and quiet manners deeply concentrating on their work with their lattes. But not the majority like many cafes. Starbucks bathrooms have come to the level of many gas station bathrooms. This one seems just a little cleaner than most Starbucks in the area. But there are days the bathrooms are gross. But perhaps gross is good. The same people preparing the food clean the bathrooms, so do we want them tending to the toilet often ? read more

Clean and friendly staff. They remember customers by name and drink of choice. This is helpful when the checkout line is long and the barista came begin making your order because she knows you. I'm not a huge fan of the new set up inside, but this is an efficient Starbucks. read more

A very strange store. Good ------- Private parking lot. AC outlets are available. Bad ----- Really really strange man is there everyday ! A white male in his 60's with a cowboy hat seems to always be there. LOUD, creepy and often smoking near the door. He buys at most one cup of coffee. Worst part, he attracts all these rude and loud people that buy nothing, even arrogant enough to ask for water while not buying anything. His friends would bang on bathroom doors because they cant wait. They are often shouting and taking up tables and chairs. Another white male in his 70's, Pete, hits on Asian females barely legal age and up. Really creepy ! I like a place I can frequent to get my paper work done with a hot drink and maybe a snack. But the strangeness of this place ... The Internet has improved in speed and reliability but still suffers terribly from reliability. It also stops working after each hour. Making drinks is medium speed, not fast and not slow. The bathroom often has no tissue paper and is disgusting. Outdoor seating area is often filled with tobacco smoke. Employees will often just shrug and do nothing even when the customers let them know about the smokers. Friendliness varies greatly depending on the person. Conclusion ------------- It does have some what that professional and student atmosphere but ruined by a few people that seems to have no respect for others. The Internet is usable, but not a pleasant experience. Seating is tight. Not only because of the above mentioned cowboy and his friends but because no one wants to sit next to them if possible. Most importantly I require a fast reliable Internet service for my work as most people under 50 do that go to Starbucks. But this place isn't it. A small private cafe is often better. And I have yet been to a airport, restaurant or cafe that has good Internet access. They all seem to have been set up by non professionals or electricians who have no idea what they are doing. Several times now the friends of the cowboy have tried to engage in conversation with me, and if not responsive they give a dirty look and take on a stalking mentality for the rest of their stay there. read more

I go to a lot of Starbucks and I understand how busy and hectic it can get, which is why I'm always patient and understand when times are crazy. What I cannot understand is why it took so long to take my order when there was no one in line, literally just me. The two girls at the counter were chatting away with another female customer and looked at me a bunch of times and ignored me. I was standing there obviously showing that I wanted to order. After some time one finally came over and asked what I wanted and I told her right off the bat Venti iced mocha with whip. She then repeats "ok mocha, what size?" And with an attitude as if I have never ordered before "hot or iced?" . Pissed I told her again what I wanted and she gave my total and swiped the card and handed it back to me no customer service nothing, like I was making her job difficult. When I finally get my drink it's disgusting. It tasted like there were coffee grounds in it and the worst part is that she didn't bother to shake it up so it was warm at the bottom with ice floating around and the flavors weren't mixed and the whipped cream was a sad pool of dairy. Like I said I am very understanding except for something like this. It was pretty damn awful and the worst Starbucks I've been to. Gonna stick to my usual Edgewater and North Bergen one because I've never been disappointed by those stores. Do yourselves a favor and skip this one. read more

Slow, inattentive service. Even when nearly empty. The 5 or 6 or 7 people behind the counter would rather stand around and talk with each other than actually serve customers. Yesterday, one of them stood with my breakfast sandwich in her hand while having a lovely chat with one of her co-workers. (Not the first time this has happened.) Today, they let my sandwich sit on the counter between the microwaves while they chatted, and then finally deigned to bring it out to me. I love this Starbucks for one main reason: the friendly customer service. The people that work there are quick,efficient and kind. This specific location isn't too good for relaxing though. It's in a busy area close to the George Washington Bridge and close to a lot of businesses so it tends to be packed. They have four big comfy chairs to sit on. No matter what, this is my number one location to go to! read more

Even though I get my coffee from here before work every day, they never seem to remember my face - and I do go there quite often and come across the same baristas. The staff is odd, and you would think you would remember that one customer that always orders an iced grande coffee red eye. Parking is ok but getting out of the parking lot is a pain and if you are on your way to work taking GW bridge, you might have to make an illegal left-turn. oopsie. read more
