Just a short walk from my air b n b, Bruno's was a perfect fit. Located in shared warehouse style building, the concept is simplicity. I heard a rumor that Bruno's used to be a brewery. In my opinion, a coffee house is always the better option anyway. There is a cool exterior mural at the back entry overlooking the Fargo water-tower and plenty of shared parking and both interior and exterior seating. It Inside, there were plenty of remote workers and patrons sharing conversations and typing on laptops. There is a small refrigerator section to grab and go waters, sodas, etc. as well as an onsite see through bakery where one can witness all the baked goods being freshly baked, pressed, mixed and decorated. The drink menu is very simple with all the normal caffeinated and non caffeinated options from coffee to tea. All of the syrups are made in house. I opted for an iced pistachio latte. It was delightful! Inside Bruno's there is also a nice remote working area which appears to be a monthly fee, however, your first visit is complimentary. I felt this was a nice touch especially since so many people visiting coffee shops these days are working remotely. I look forward to returning again this week and trying a lovely dessert pastry. They retained the long bar, where you place your order at the end of the bar and then there is also seating along the bar towards the opposite end. There is a variety of seating options, from those bar seats to tables & chairs, comfy chairs and picnic-table type seating outside on the patio. When the weather is good, the overhead doors separating the indoor & outdoor seating is open. The coffee is pretty much guaranteed to be good as the two owners along with another early-hire barista are all recognizable, long-time local baristas. Bruno's roasts their own coffee, and I also look forward to trying the Sparkling Coffee they are working on developing. In addition to the great coffee & tea, they have partnered with a Culinary Institute of America-trained pastry chef who is creating some wonderful (looking & tasting) pastries & baked goods. Located near the corner of University Dr N and 7th Ave N, there is a large parking lot for Bruno's and their fellow building mates of a sign shop & coworking space. When visiting for the first time, the doors are on the south side of the building (facing the railroad tracks).

A couple of Mondays ago, I stopped in Fargo to run a few final errands before crossing over the border to return to Winnipeg. I wanted my last drink from Caribou Coffee. I did a search and found this one close by. This cafe is in a plaza. My map app got me to the wrong part of the plaza. I somehow managed to get back on track and saw the back of the cafe first... haha! This cafe has a drive-thru. I decided to check it out. I got a friendly woman on the other end. She asked me if I had a Caribou account. I did and rattled off my phone number. She found me and asked what I'd like to order. I saw a sugar-free passionfruit yuzu sparkling energy drink on the menu that I had never had. I went with it and got a large. At a quick glance, I noticed that this cafe had Milk cookies. I got a cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie. When I pulled up to the window, I tapped my credit card to pay for my items. It didn't take long for my drink to be made. I also got my cookie. I thanked the woman and made my way northbound. It was a nice sendoff getting my 'bou fix. The energy drink helped me get to Winnipeg without needed a nap. The passionfruit flavour was a bit stronger than the yuzu. I frankly would have liked it reversed. The flavour seemed off, as if they shouldn't be paired together. I'd rather have a bright, citrusy yuzu instead of a dull passionfruit taste with faint yuzu notes. I put my cookie away. When I checked in to my hotel room in Winnipeg, I had the cookie. OMG! I should have bought more. This cookie had everything that I loved. Crispy cornflake bits. Chocolate chips. Dabs of marshmallow in every bite. It was so good. I hope that it's still on the menu the next time I'm back stateside in a state that has Caribou Coffee. I am so importing this cookie! I loved stopping by this cafe. I personally find hand dryers, not a great source of drying hands, especially when not all people wash their hands. I don't like touching flip handles to shut off after I have washed my hands. Now, I have touched a dirty surface and touched a door handle that is also dirty. This is my only fault with this place. Otherwise, the ambiance is wonderful. As well as the food and and drinks.
