So although this might not be a traditional stand alone Starbucks, in which you walk in and see lots of tables, room to read/work and cool vibed music somewhere in the distance, this Starbucks gets better credit than the reviews written about it in my book. Yes, it is inside the Red Lion casino in the relatively rural northern Nevada town of Elko. And as such, you see the neon and hear the bells of slot machines 20 feet away. You also hear country music kind of belting from the sound system in the casino (tasteful and cool county must, for the record). But outside of crazy events that sell out the hotel and makes the patron line at this small Starbucks seem monumental, I find this spot quite charming and inviting to do a little work on any random 7AM hour. And please note, they use to be on Red Lion WI-FI which is super slow, but in 2019, they switched to their own Starbucks WI-FI and it is fast like you would expect at your more traditional Starbucks location. So its a bit loud and a bit out of sorts right here on a casino floor, but I like it (and I am actually not a huge fan of Starbucks to even begin with). The staff really are most friendly too. So with that, let me tip my cup, enjoy my Joe and get surfing on their WI-FI. read more

Had to five star this Starbucks. It was pretty typical of most locations except this one was in a grocery store. It happens when you're on a roadie and find out the store you pick IS in the grocery store. I park in the gigantic parking lot, far away from everyone else. That's good cause I don't want any door, cart, human or other entity touching my truck! This worked out well. Once inside the grocer, it was right there. You know the products, I got great/fast service from Paisley, and I was back on 80 east in a few minutes. The great folks of Nevada aren't heavy Yelpers and when the do Yelp, they're usually pissed off. I think that's the case here, but my experience was an easy 5 stars for me :) read more

I ordered a Trenta iced coffee and they ran out of cup so I said ok to venti and they gave me a refund but the problem was there was more cream in the drink than coffee. I had to stop and get a black coffee just to make it taste like coffee read more

Starbucks inside the Red Lion Hotel. The staff have been helpful, pleasant and professional. Nice to have a little oasis on site since I'm staying at the hotel for a couple nites! Open 5am - 8pm. Good for those wanting to get on the road at the crack of dawn. For others, who just want a baked goody (like me last nite at 730), this is a convenient spot. read more

This was a horrible Starbucks! First it's located inside a casino with VERY little parking outside of the Starbucks door entrance. Both times we were there the lot was full and I use the word lot loosely because it's all of like 5 spaces. 3 of which are handicapped. So we had to park pretty far away and walk the entire casino. Smoke filled casino to boot. So the dude in Starbuck obviously did NOT either listen or know how to follow directions because my drink was almost ALL the opposite of everything I asked for on day 1. While Rich's was okay. Day two, today, the same dude was there making drinks........GREAT RIGHT? So I told the lil dude taking orders that the other guy got it wrong yesterday and he took it upon himself to make himself today. I'll admit it was about 85% better but still not right. I find that most Starbucks can't get my drink right except DAYTON, NV. They rock! And worst part is, I realize I'm a pain in the ass and my drink is detailed but it's really not THAT hard if you just follow directions people!!!! read more

The barista spent more time talking to the person behind me than she did to me except to tell me she wouldn't scan my Starbucks card because it starts with a, 61 and her system wouldn't recognize it? As a result I had to go back to the car for cash, missed out on my star rewards (you know that's huge!) and after waiting 10 minutes (I was one of 3 people in line) with a toddler in a casino I got a nice warm chai latte. Don't even waste your time or money here. There's another Starbucks on the other side of town and it would be worth the short drive. I stopped here the first time on my trip out to CO and ordered a tall latte. Weak sauce. It tasted like bland milk. I decided to give it another try on our trip back thru on our way home when we stayed at the Red Lion. I ordered a double short latte with a pump of gingerbread syrup. Not even the gingerbread would cut the nasty espresso flavor. Starbucks is not known for smooth espresso but this bad even for them. Also, I'm from CA and thought their prices were crazy high ($4.50 for a short 8oz latte). The barista commented since its a casino they can price it whatever they want. Do yourself a favor and go to the Mudd Hutt across the street. $3.50 for an amazing latte and you don't have to deal with casino smoke. read more

It was 19 degrees and early. I'd left Reno with flip-flops, being optimistic about my road trip. Not so much. I needed some warmth and well, you can't throw a stone and NOT hit a Starbucks, even in the middle of a desert. It was like 8 am, and they were already out of average croissants. Poor quality, smells like smoke, lukewarm coffee. I love Starbucks coffee and their reliable uniformity is a positive quality, but this location is pretty awful. The one star is for the friendly, helpful, easy-going staff people. Unfortunately, the counters were disgustingly stained and dirty, both at the register, and at the "condiments" counter. Our coffees were luke warm albeit tasty. It's such a drag to have to wander through the casino to find this spot, and then to feel so dirty when you leave. Alas. read more
