Here's the thing. I love Starbucks and especially because it's PSL season. :) However, when someone asks for a NON DAIRY DRINK, please make sure it's non dairy before you give it to them. I am okay with very minimal dairy. I can have whipped cream on top of my almond drink, but that's it. After that, I'm sick. For example, now. My best friend and I always go to the Dumfries Starbucks if we're going to the chick fil a on 234. I normally don't have a problem with them, but I normally order in the café. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR DRIVE THRU AGAIN. The screen is way too dark, you can't read your order to check it. I ordered a PSL with ALMOND MILK and 3 pumps vanilla. I got a dairy PSL. I didn't realize it until I was too far from the store. Please, verify orders with customers and brighten the screen at the drive thru. read more

This is my go to local Starbucks. They're constantly good/ quick with making drinks to order. However, today they went above and beyond basic customer service for me. I accidentally ordered via the app but sent it to the wrong location (I was eagerly being "helped" by a 1.5 year old!). I called the Centerville store but they weren't sure how to change it. I explained it to the Dumfries store hoping they could help but also knowing I might have to own the mistake and pony up to pay for another beverage. They were so nice with helping me! No grumbling. This was the first Starbucks that I came across with a drive thru window. So convenient especially when you're in a hurry. Their drive-thru isn't as busy as other Starbucks and I love that. I don't have much to say about their products because they're all the same at every Starbucks. Unlike the drinks and sweets the employees are different and the staff at this particular Starbucks are always very nice and chill. No complaints. I went through the drive through. It was fast, taking into consideration it was 8am on a weekday. My drink was made perfectly (tall skinny peppermint mocha mmmm....) and the staff was friendly and polite. I love this starbucks! Highly recommended. read more

I cannot stand the horrible service by the baristas at this Dumfries Starbucks. The same lady (long black curly hair, brown eyes, long nose) is ALWAYS RUDE. She is a nasty person because she is incredibly rude every time, either drive thru or walking in. She just hates herself, and takes it out on everyone else. She dropped my change when she was throwing my money back at me in my car, and the coins fell in the street, Most people would apologize because they dropped YOUR change, & I had to bend down & get out of my car IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE THRU to grab it. Never apologized. Another time she gave me attitude over messing up my hot chocolate. Another time she rolled her eyes when I asked for my pastries to be warmer. If you hate your job, then stop doing it!!!! Don't take it out on customers who are just trying to get food and go, like seriously how lame do you have to be. read more

Had an awesome experience here this morning. My order wasn't perfect, no biggie, it was fast and delicious. The barista, was persistent about correcting it, to the point that she brought me some extra almond milk outside while I enjoyed the drink. Was excited to see they were doing a full remodel of this starbucks. However the end product was a big disappointment. They have removed all the comfy sofas which is a huge negative for me. They now have rock hard metal and words chairs everywhere. They did add a pad on the side seating which helps slightly. Overall the atmosphere is just very austere and sterile. Wish Starbucks could figure out how to do a comfy coffee shop atmosphere. Staff however is great, and the service is fast. read more

Congratulations Starbucks of Fortuna Center Plaza! You have won the award for "The Slowest" Starbucks in Northern Virginia! It takes me, on average, over twenty minutes to get my drink. Add ten minutes if I bring someone with me or need to order another drink. The process is so disorganized behind the counter that I have had several occasions where people who come in after me get served before me (no, they didn't order ahead)! Customer Service is at an all time low here. I have yet to encounter an employee that goes above and beyond. Most, if not all, employees are not nice or fast. If you consider drive thru, forget about it. The orders are always messed up if you go above one drink and the line moves slower than rush hour along I-95. The Dining Area is poorly taken care of and cleaned. The drinks are not to the quality other Starbucks put themselves at. It doesn't matter what time of day you come, you will almost always experience what is described above this sentence. I would recommend going anywhere else. There's a Starbucks in the Target behind this place (to my knowledge), a Panera's next door, and several businesses near I-95. This Starbucks location has lost any further business from my friends, family, co-workers, and I. I don't recommend this place to anyone! read more

I've been going to this Starbucks for over 11 years. In those 11 years, I can literally count on one hand how many times I thought service could've been a little bit better. That's pretty amazing! During the height of the pandemic, when drive-through was the only option, the way they directed traffic through their drive-through to prevent other traffic from being blocked was amazing. They worked fast, they worked hard, my order was always correct. Again, super impressed! Today, is another example of how awesome they handle unexpected hiccups. A car broke down in the drive-through lane right before the pick up window. One of the barista's came out, directing traffic, made sure everyone knew Where the broken down car was, make sure everyone got their order, and also helps keep the drive-through barista calm during what was a stressful situation! Love this location and the hard-working baristas that make it so great! read more

I come to this Starbucks every other day for the last 2 years. The staff is always polite, and accommodating whenever my drink isn't to my liking. There has been a few incidents recently where it the line has been too busy that it wraps around to target. As well as the hours of operation being different every other visit. It was frustrating how some days I want to come inside to order and have to wait outside and other days I don't. Theres a 6 people limit in the cafe so I understand the reasoning for waiting outside, however I wish it was consistent. I asked the store manager about why theres inconsistency. She told me that many of the staff have been isolating due to covid-19 so there's inconsistent staffing for however many weeks they isolate. Though the things I've listed above can be annoying, being a fast food employee it's completely understandable why the store is operating the way it is. My job had to close down for a week to receive results of every employees negative covid test. It's crazy times we're living in and I hope the staff is healthy. To the person below me, I read your comment and I hope you can learn to be more accommodating to these challenging times of a pandemic. I use this as my go-to as it is conveniently located however they are steadily using real milk versus coconut milk in my drinks even when it is on the screen. They also run out of food items for me specifically the chix wrap and the breakfast sandwiches. It has been steady my experience for at least a full year. read more

Can't order on app as it says they do not have my drink at this location, yet when I order it at the store they do.. whoever is in charge of ordering needs to hone in on getting it right. If profit is the name of the game, they are selling themselves short. The slowest Drive-Thru I have ever seen. 20 mins in line just to get to the person to take my order. When I mentioned to the associate that the wait was unacceptable, she just replied "no problem!" When I received my order, it was incomplete because they were out of one ingredient. Why didn't they say that when I was ordering the item? Additionally, the coffee wasn't even hot. After it was poured, it was sitting near an open Drive-Thru window. Will go to Panera Bread next door next time I am in the area. read more

After ordering my son a kids hot chocolate at kids temp through the mobile app (15 mins ago) I arrived to check in with the barista to ensure that it will be at kid's temp. He said yes and seemed slightly offended that I was checking up on the order. We received our two beverages 7 mins later and on my way to the car- juggle an iced beverage, hot chocolate, keys, and a 5 yr old, I spilled the hot chocolate on my arm. Mind you, I am wearing a thick sweater. The "kids temp" scolded my arm (see photo). I called the store and spoke with a Jessica who said she was the manager. She apologized and blamed their machine. And that's it. No offer to make the situation right, refund, nada. Mind you, I am a Starbucks addict- refilling my card through the app with a $100 every month (don't judge). This location NEEDS better management. The employees are fine, if not beleaguered by being expected to run a busy drive thru, an indoor store, and now fulfill online orders on a clunky and outdated system while being severely understaffed. I enjoy using the app but I completely gave up after 20 minutes of waiting in an almost empty store (the drive thru, however, was busy as always). I've always come at non-busy times and have never waited less than 15 minutes, and I have always had to ask about my drink. It sounds like a lot of drinks tend to get lost in the fray somehow, which sounds to me like something is wrong computer-wise, rather than human error. They need an updated system and a separate staff for the drive through and the shop, and if that's not possible for higher-ups to puzzle out (hint: have two or so more people on staff, not a handful both taking drive-thru orders and struggling to make drinks as the line of cars backs up to hazardous lengths), this location needs to either nix the drive thru or concentrate on it entirely. read more

If you have a nut allergy DO NOT GO TO THIS STARBUCKS. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato and the barista informed me that they were all out of the vanilla flavoring they usually use and asked me if I would like caramel or hazel nut flavoring instead. I made it VERY CLEAR to the barista that I would like caramel instead because I have a nut allergy and I thought she understood but apparently not because when I took a sip of my drink I immediately tasted hazel nut. This all resulted in having to administer an epi pen and having to take a nice expensive trip to the ER. So just a little tip Starbucks: maybe hire people who know the difference between hazel nut and caramel so those of us with allergies don't have to shell out thousands of dollars in the goddamn emergency room all thanks to your employees stupidity. read more

I come for the coffee, and stay for the staff. Each member of the staff is friendly and very caring. They all do their best to make each order perfect for their customers and to make them feel welcome as soon as they walk through the doors. I spend most of my time at this Starbucks and the staff always makes sure I'm taken care of, as they would any other customer who dines in. The Dumfries Starbucks is by far my favorite. read more
