OMG! Waiting 25 minutes for a cappuccino! Crazy. Would not recommend. Perhaps they need more staff.

With the beginning of the Statehouse Market in downtown Indy for 2023, I'm once again discovering…read moresome of the hidden gems and newbies in the realm of food trucks and farmer's market vendors. One such truck is Milkhouse Brew, a Mooresville, Indiana based mobile coffee truck serving locally roasted coffee, specialty beverages, and locally baked confections. Milkhouse Brew is a partnership between cousins Haliena "Hali" Mynatt and Suni Johnsons. Hali also owns Morgan County event venues 5 East and The Barn at Milkhouse Lane. Suni is a longtime photographer in the area. Both women are locals who graduated from Mooresville High School. Milkhouse Brew has a fairly basic menu, or at least did today, including cappuccino, latte, macchiato, americano, chai latte, and hot chocolate with some variations and flavors available. Prices were pretty darn reasonable and all the drinks could be served either hot or cold. They also all came in either 16-ounce and 20-ounce sizes. Prices primarily were in the $3-6 range and for that you get a tasty drink, awesome service, and the thrill of supporting local. I ordered a 20-ounce iced americano. It was served fairly quickly and they seemed to do a steady business today. A food truck offering coffee has been a serious lacking at Statehouse Market and I'm hoping they will return. Coffee is from Timber City Coffee and Tea - an establishment that recently opened up a storefront in Plainfield. Milkhouse also plans to carry Circle Kombucha, though I did not see it available today. They are also exploring options for root beer on tap. I loved my drink, though I did think the ice melted super quickly and that slightly hindered my enjoyment of the drink. I still enjoyed it, however, that does keep me from forking over a 5th star. Who knows? I hope I get to award that in the future as this new kid on the block, women-owned and operated, really gets going. There's much to love here with an appealing truck, friendly service, quality products that are also local, and an overall winning experience. Here's hoping they'll be back at Statehouse Market in the near future. I could not find an actual address, though they are active on social media and do have a website. They seem to be particularly active in the Morgan/Hendricks county area.

Coffee trucks you can never go wrong with. It was a hot day yesterday and the iced vanilla latte I…read moreordered was refreshing. It came out fast also! I like the menu is simple and to the point. Expressos that can be iced or hot, cappuccino, lattes, Americanos, chai lattes are what they offer. Milks - almond, oat, or whole. Caramel, vanilla, and mocha are the options for flavorings. Whipped cream and extra espresso shots are also available. It's a cute truck. I will be keeping my eye out for them again. They have an Instagram to tell you where they will be next. @milkhousebrew

What an amazing experience! I recently hosted a corporate…read moreevent with about 60 people in attendance. We needed a place that encouraged networking and community while making sure everyone was well fed. Books and Brews became the perfect venue. The staff welcomed us openly and worked hard to provide quality service. The food was excellent with the family pretzel being a fan favorite! This unique experience was the perfect opportunity to give my guests a taste of the Midwest. I know they will remember this dinner for years to come.

She was friendly and attentive. There is an impressive selection of craft beer. I had a 3 Floyd's Cheer Team double IPA. The beer as full bodied and good. The Pulled Pork Nachos come on kettle potato chips. The nachos are smothered with a creamy beer cheese, pulled park and a whisky flavored bbq sauce. The nachos were good, but didn't knock my socks off. The potato chips make them pretty salty. The coffee maker was so loud that we moved from the bar, but not far enough. It sounded like an old high pitched ship engine. I'm not sure how anyone could read and no one was. Toys, collectibles and shirts are available for sale. I love the concept of a place to play board games or read and have a beer or coffee. I'd recommend for a college date night.
