It was fairly busy and they have seats along the windows where all of the college kids were plugged in doing their homework. When I was in college I went to a library for that lol. They have a decent selection of pastries and handhelds but not a lot but you really don't need a lot because you're there for the coffee anyway. My daughter got a chai latte and I got the mocha Moon and you can tell them how much of the pre-made kind of looks like chocolate milk Moon mixes in. I really enjoyed this coffee so much I went back a second day because there's not a pile of chocolate at the bottom because it's already mixed in. It's almost like and I could be wrong that they steam and froth chocolate milk for you which totally works for me! The coffee was a good strength and a good value as well. The girls working there were so sweet and nice. I hope to be back very very soon!

So I've had this place on my Greenville list for a while. Decided to stop in for the new sweet corn…read moreespresso while in town for the 4th. I arrive and the line is to the door. So I'm thinking ok this place has to be good. It took about 20-25 mins to get to the register and order. I ordered the sweet corn shaken espresso with almond milk and a cinnamon roll so I could make sure to show support. It took 22 mins to get the drink which o tried to be understanding because it was busy and there was really only one person making drinks. Most efficient way? Maybe not but he was steadily working. I watched probably 20 drinks come up almost spilling over they were so full and delicious looking. Finally mine comes up and 1/4 of the cup is empty. Weather ice or almond milk at least fill the cup like the rest of the drinks. So whatever 45 mins I'm not asking for a remake or anything it's already hot inside and just standing there I'm sweating. I get in the car and think well they short changed the drink at least I got this thick cinnamon roll to make up for it. Well jokes on me again. The roll was very dense and dry. While it may have been made that morning it was dry as if it was a day or two old. I figured maybe it was just the outside that was dry but it was the same even in the center. The centers are always supposed to be the best part. Sadly I didn't get the experience everyone else seems to get. Over all pretty disappointing experience that I wish would have been better to give a better review for a local shop.

I will say, I love that they've got a lot of popular viral treats in their case and on their menu, but I was a little underwhelmed by the coffee itself. Overall though, it's definitely worth stopping by if you're wanting something specific that only they serve, but if you're specifically looking for coffee only, I'd probably recommend someplace else.

Looking for a local coffee shop in Greenville led me to Chestnut Coffee House & Local Market. It's…read morelocated in an almost hidden residential area which has a handful of offices and retail businesses, so not the type of place you'd find unless you were specifically looking for it. They have multiple doors to enter which was confusing, so I had to double back to the counter where you actually had to order drinks. The interiors are spacious. inviting, and modern, as evidenced by the nearly 30 people I saw camped out at tables working away at their laptops or holding video conferences. They also have a nice outdoor patio space as well. I went with an order of a half sweet iced mocha latte. There's an additional charge for any added flavoring, so the drink set me back over $7 (before any tip). While I don't mind paying a bit extra for a great drink, I felt it was very average in taste and probably would have received better from a chain coffee shop. Service from the staff was friendly. I felt this is one of those more modern workspace coffee shops that's lost in a bit of an identity crisis with some market and prepared food items. Perhaps I'm just not their target clientele given they seem to have a loyal following, but felt Chestnut Coffee House was a pretty average and slightly overpriced drink experience for me.
