She made the drink and told me to taste it as it was hard to judge sweetness. I tasted it, said, nope and gave it right back to her. She added more peach syrup, I gave it a stir, took a sip and it was perfect. I'm sharing because I appreciated the barista double checking to make sure my latte was to my liking versus preparing it and not asking. It demonstrated excellent customer service. While I didn't drink my latte inside, the shop is super cute and seems to be a good chill spot to take a break or get work done.

When I asked if they had caramel drizzle, her response was simply, "No," with no warmth or attempt to offer an alternative. I completely understand that arriving close to closing can be frustrating for employees, and we were mindful of the time. However, the doors were still open, the posted business hours indicated the shop was open until 11:00 p.m., and we were respectful customers who knew what we wanted and intended to order quickly. What was most disappointing wasn't that they were closing soon--it was how unwelcome we were made to feel. As first-time visitors to Charlotte and Ballantyne, this wasn't the hospitality we expected. Customer service matters just as much during the last few minutes of business as it does throughout the rest of the day.
