The steps were in poor condition, and the handrail was extremely loose, moving several inches side to side. As someone with a disability, that felt unsafe. Accessibility should be basic. Inside, the owner and our server were kind and welcoming, and I genuinely appreciated that. But both teapots had been placed on the table before we were seated, and my tea was already cold. I had to ask for hot water just to have a proper cup, which I wouldn't expect from an afternoon tea. The biggest disappointment was the food. At forty five dollars per person, ninety for two, I expected quality and attention to detail. Instead, the sandwiches and pastries were among the poorest I've ever been served. I could only manage a couple of small sandwiches and one dessert before giving up. What surprised me most after our visit was reading the five-star reviews. Based on our experience, it is difficult for me to understand how this place earns that level of praise. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism.
