Not sure why a big chain coffee shop is in a little town! Not to mention the coffee is not that great.

It was fresh, but it was not strong, dark, and bold. Limited edible offerings. Execution and Hospitality. Typical millenial serviceability = limited engagement, no eye contact, and minimal delivery of expectations. Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Clean loos. Whimsical and rustic decor. Nice live plants. Lots of natural light. Street and lot parking. Seating was hard. Music was loud and echoed for an almost empty place. Overall, OK. Photodocumented experience.

You order at the counter that is directly in front of you, and then they serve the drinks at the end of the counter. Do be mindful though of what you ordered as they didn't take names and called out orders instead. If it is busy (which it was when we visited) you also have to keep on top of the orders as often people mistakenly take an order. They are gracious about making another one for you, but it helps everyone to keep your ears open for your original order. My latte was full of flavor and not too bitter but did need a bit of sugar to make it sweet enough for me. They do have alternative mills but run out quickly so if you want something on a holiday or busy weekend I suggest you go early. Their teas are also quite good as my husband can contest, so if you want to try a tea they have several good options. All in all a great coffee spot and one that can accommodate larger groups and even has some fun Boyne City souvenirs to purchase. Recommend a stop in while visiting !

Lake Charlevoix Coffee Company - More seating in back with couch and stuffed chairs. Overall seats about 70 inside? 6 inside? Good 3rd space place.

The way in which he coaxed our individual tastes made the experience feel as if we were the only ones there. Good job! Food: well the shrimp appetizer salad and French onion soup were so tasty they didn't get shared. I think that says it all but wait, then there was the salmon with beluga lentils. The olive tapenade was the right balance of salty and savory for the Scottish salmon. Ambiance: the snow mound is gone and the lake can be seen again. What a pleasure to enjoy each other's company while watching the gulls winging over the waves.

The menu had a great amount of variety and the wine list offered some really unique tastes from around the world. I enjoyed the tuna steak for dinner and would recommend it. Kiddo loved the bread and butter that came with the meal. Our second experience still had great food, with the pork chop being my choice and one I would order again. We had a different server that night and he was MIA for more than half the meal. When he came back he asked if we wanted to-go cups for our beverages as he brought the check at the same time. Otherwise it was stellar all around. Would definitely recommend grabbing dinner here while you're in the area!

Staff was friendly and the food was prepare fresh and tasted good when we finally unwrapped it. Just be prepared for the prices. We had sticker shock when everything was rung up. Is the place picturesque? Absolutely. Was the food delicious? Yes. Could we have gotten things we liked just as well in Charlevoix for less? I'll please the fifth. Regardless, it's with peeking in while you're visiting.

After seeing their sign we called and made reservations for Saturday night. We talked to the chef about our dietary restrictions and she assured us it wouldn't be an issue. Upon arriving we entered through a side door into the general store proper, which is just one large room with some items for sale (beer and wine) and other fun antiques to peruse. During the day they sell food things and coffee so next time we might try to check out their daytime options. We were greeted immediately and told to choose a beverage. If you choose wine just note you are purchasing the whole bottle. There is water on the table in case you don't find something to your liking, but as we didn't know that we chose wine. It was a bit much for two people to finish and then drive, so next time we would come with others or choose something smaller. Regardless the wine was a nice touch. The meal is served outside in a small garden like area surrounded by hedges so it feels intimate and secluded. You are right next to the other guests so there ends up being a lot of cross table taking/eavesdropping. The tables are iron and quite cute if a bit rickety. The menu is one page of shareable dishes (called tapas but if you are thinking Spanish tapas this is not that at all) at around $20 per item. There wasn't actually anything vegan on the menu but a few that could be vegetarian. Make sure to ask for additional options for sensitivities, as only afterwards when paying did the chef mention she could have done something vegan for us. We had mentioned it at the start of the meal but she was a bit distracted and said so eggs are ok right? Not wanting to cause a scene we agreed but I knew it wasn't going to end well for me. The salad was our favorite with pickled onions that were surprisingly tart and perfect with the other salad additions. We also ordered the frittata (as still hungry) which smelled delicious and had a nice creamy texture and gooey cheese. Then we got a pepper dish which was supposed to be a spread but was really more of a hash/stir fry. It was quite tasty and would have been a better option than the frittata for us. I loved the garden feel as you could hear the trees whispering above you and imagine you were in a fairy tale. The service was excellent and overall the experience was memorable and tasty. I did feel the food was a bit pricey for the portions, and perhaps if you bring children then each dish serves 4 but not adults who have been out hiking or active. It was worth the history and ambience for a fun experience. We might try another spot in the future but this is definitely worth checking out at least once for the overall evening experience.
