Came in for the Grande Americano with room for some half & half plus 4 packages of sugar! This will get the heart pumping for the remainder of my drive. Thank god Starbucks celebrates America cause I walked through a line of OLD GLORY flags to enter the building. Now after my patriotic walk in I jumped in line which moved fast. I'm in a state of shock. This is probably the most beautiful Starbucks location I have ever visited!!! Yes, I used the words "Starbucks" and "beautiful" in the same sentence. The decor is simple yet tasteful and warm. The beautiful high ceilings make this location feel comfortable and extra spacious. They have comfortable well padded chairs (in addition to the typical uncomfortable Starbucks wooden chairs). There are several tables with an umbrella outside. They even have a fire place outside! In terms of the facilities and the ambience, there's nothing more to ask for! The Canada-US border is now open (thank GOODNESS!) and no PCR test is required for Canadians to return to Canada after a short trip (3 days or less). So yesterday I hit the road to get my Bellingham fix (I used to go every 4-6 weeks, to hit up Target and Trader Joe's and get cheap gas). It felt SO good to go, but I had a ton of errands to do in Blaine before the fun shopping in Bellingham. First time ever, I took the first US exit after the Peace Arch border and I immediately found myself in the "downtown core" of Blaine. And wow, it reminded me SO much of Bedford Falls (from "It's a Wonderful Life"). The streets are strung with a canopy of lights for the holidays and all the storefronts were so cute. And the first shop/restaurant I came upon on this main strip was this huge Starbucks, right on the corner (Peace Portal Drive, between F and G Streets). And even though it has a drive-through (bonus!), I decided to go inside and check it out. After all, there is a ton of free street parking right across the street (extra bonus!) and the view of the ocean, right across the street, would never get old. Upon entering the coffeeshop, I was struck how large the interior was. And warm. And talk about high ceilings! I was unaware that this is a real lighthouse! I saw the spiral staircase leading upwards, to parts unknown, and I thought perhaps there was a loft upstairs. But no! A lighthouse! The downstairs was cavernous, though, and if I lived near here, I'd be a regular. Best of all, the counter staff was lovely. Like, genuinely nice and helpful. A young woman named Ella (or Elle) helped me. Couldn't be nicer. As I left, I was struck by the large outdoor seating area with a big patio fireplace. Just...amazing. This is the most beautiful Starbucks I've ever been to. The inside has large open space to work in, sit, or meet up with friends. It has high ceilings and a staircase up to a light house...YUP a light house!! How cool is that?! They also have a seating area outside and its in a very pleasant area. I came here to work because I was in the area and glad that this was the Starbucks I walked into. Super cute one too! First time I came here with my pup and drive thru was a bit confusing but we made it. Parking lot was quite huge and had a lot of snow. Baci loves his quick potty break. #yellowsnowwww And the inside! It's brand new! Massive reserve bar style counter top! A lot of mobile orders stacked up in a special pick up spot. It was quite organized and quite pretty!! Now I still make it a point to stop here for the coffee and the cuteness feels! The place is always full of people just hanging out, watching the water view! It might be a little unusual to review Starbucks but this one is kind of special so I thought I'd leave a note. First, as other reviewers have noted, it's a lighthouse! It also has a lovely outdoor seating area with music, an outdoor fireplace, and views of the water. Inside is large and comfy, including a few larger lounge chairs. It is located in a walkable downtown area and you can even take your drink from here and walk to Peace Arch Park or Blaine Marine Park. They have clean bathrooms, a nice food and merch selection, and the staff is warm and friendly. read more

I had the worst service from a girl here just now. I purchased a gift card for myself to buy a coffee, but she gave me the card in a small envelope. I told her "Oh it's for myself" and tried to place an order, but she just said "He can help you" and took off. That "he" was helping other customers at the time, with like 5 other people lined up. Awful! I had to line up all over again. Unbelievable. The other cashier was very nice and pleasant though. Also it's a very nice unique decor and I love how spacious it is. So often this Starbucks is understaffed and the lobby is closed to serve at least drive-thru. Maybe it's a sign of the times or maybe just mismanagement of scheduling, but it's frustrating to customers. Still it is a beautiful store when it's open. The staff is pleasant and I especially appreciate the friendliness of baristas Finn, Morgan, Zach, Scott, Lex, Ash, Dessi and Austin who deal well with disgruntled customers when the wait is longer than expected. Honestly there is an issue with the equipment or personnel working the drive thru too distracted chatting amongst themselves to be able to pay attention. I have come twice now where I sat in the drive thru during business hours and got no response. Waited at the ordering area and then again at the window and not even one person had a clue I was there how does that happen?? 7:04 pm this evening. Had to order on the app, park and go inside. I thought the purpose of the drive thru was for convenience and was disappointed. Everyone was busy cleaning up quickly to close, I get it but there was still over 56 minutes left, hope next visits will be better. read more

My favorite Starbucks ever. Its new, well designed, spacious yet has a homey feel. I really enjoy sipping my coffee while people watching.it has spiral stairs leading up to a light house, its by blue waters, ceilings are high and has exposed pillars. I was wondering what I could write that's unique about a cafe whose business model is to be identical to all others in the chain. Now I feel I MUST review to encourage the team. I stopped in nearly two weeks after opening. It was a Friday afternoon in a heatwave and Starbucks Corporate was doing a cheap Frappé happy hour. the team was doing its best, but totally overwhelmed. They were friendly, and helpful, and apologetic for the longer wait times. I'm glad I didn't see any customers upset. I've waited longer in a Seattle store on a normal day. Starbucks coffee isn't to my liking (I'll occasionally have cold brew but never espresso), but I'll be back for tea and snacks and dessert in a cup. read more

This Starbucks was a nice surprise. Talk about fancy. Located just over the border in Blaine. There could be no better location than this one. They have a lovely outdoor seating area which includes music and a gas fireplace. So posh! I love the lighthouse design, so fitting considering the location and the water. Just beautiful! The inside is bright and airy, very modern and cozy. All the usual drinks including Clover (my favorite) can be found there. The staff was very friendly and were willing to help. I'm done with this location . 99 percent of the staff are wonderful but you are only as good as your weakest link and that link has treated me like a fool for the last time . If you expect to charge 6 plus dollars for a coffee and then give complete attitude along with it I'm out . I've held a gold card for years so to say I'm a pretty good customer is an understatement. Lovely location overlooking the harbor. I enjoyed arriving early Sunday morning with the breeze from the bay, and sitting by the outdoor fire place. Very aesthetically designed Starbucks. Opened in late 2018. The staff are VERY friendly and go out of their way to get to know you and your order. Of all the coffee shops in the area, this is by far the coziest and most spacious. Super high ceilings. Lots of leather chairs. More tables to sit at than usual. The only letdown is that they went through a lot of effort building it from the ground up to look like a lighthouse but you can't go up there so it seems like a waste of space and materials. From outside you can see beautiful views of Drayton Harbor and downtown Blaine. They also have a huge 20 foot long outdoor fireplace with chairs around it. read more

Tonight. I am so sad I didn't get the barista's name, but this kind God send of a woman-she showed an act of kindness to a stranger who she never met, and would probably not see again. After a week of hell, starting with a suicide scare, and then having just spent the day with my Godfather in the ER finding out that the only surgery that could save his life, could also kill him....(it's not even Friday yet!! WTH) this woman took my order with a smile as she watched me fumble to find the $20 I realized I didn't have because the guy at Rite Aid forgot to give me my cash back. I used my card, no big deal. But I was clearly bummed out. While I used the restroom I left my drinks at the pickup counter. When I came back, she gave me a cookie. While I looked at her in shock- she said "sometimes all it takes is a small act of kindness to turn your day around". I started to tear up. She immediately came around the counter and hugged me, asked me if I was ok. I told her what I just told you, she shared she just lost her best friend. We hugged more and she said she'd keep my Godfather in my prayers, and I returned the sentiment. I promised to pay it forward. After a week from hell, (there was SO much more...) this kind soul reminded me to have faith. And also faith in humanity. It was a cookie. I don't even really eat cookies but dammed if won't be the best cookie I've ever consumed. Thank you, you mystery angelic God Sent Beautiful human. I don't live here, but I'll stop here whenever I am in the area in hopes I can see her again and tel her how much her act of kindness wrapped my currently tore up heart in a blanket of warmth and comfort when I least expected it. Getting the order correct at the drive up window is about a 50/50 . It would be helpful if they'd listen to your order instead of interrupting you in the middle. A nitro cold brew doesn't have ice in it but you get ice about 50% of the time and when I hand it back they're all surprised and put out that I would ask for it to be made correctly.. About 25% of the time the nitro turns into a staight up cold brew before you get turned onto the street from the drive through. I always request sweet cream in my nitro and again receive it about 50%of the time. Sometimes it's entered correctly when ordered and they just don't make it correctly, other times they don't enter it in correctly when I order. This Starbucks is conveniently located to my house but today is the last time I'll ever go there after wasting $$ time after time to get a bad coffee or something I didn't order. read more
