She smiled and helped decide on flavor and even pulled out cups when I was deciding what size. We need more workers like her , she will go far in life. The coffee lover in me would absolutely love to rate this cute establishment as 5 stars. We visited twice while camping in Birch Bay, and the customer service was outstanding both times. The warmth of my conversations with the baristas made me want to stay awhile. Food: ham & swiss croissant breakfast sandwiches were delicious . The croissant was flaky and the ham sliced thin. It was huge and worth the price tag. Hubby waited awhile to eat his biscuit ham & cheese Sammy so it became a bit dense and chewy. When ordering the sausage egg biscuit and eating it right away, the biscuit texture had the buttery edge with the slight crisp that biscuit lovers enjoy. Monster cookie = peanut butter cookie lovers dream. Oh so chewy and moist! Not too sweet and heavy on PB flavor. Wish I had the recipe good! Drinks: this is where things head a bit downhill. My teenage niece loved the mudslide espresso shake. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk (added a shot) and it tasted as if it had 1 shot of extremely smooth espresso. ---When the other reviewers mentioned their coffee being very weak, I decided to try their cold brew thinking it had to be the strongest coffee they serve. I adore the vibe of Woods Coffee. Adventure and a coffee shop-- what more could you ask for?! This was my first ever Woods Coffee experience and I wasn't disappointed. I stopped in on a chilly, rainy day for a cup of tea. They had a decent selection available, and the options included some unique flavors that I'd love to try eventually. This day, I got a classic black tea with a splash of coconut milk. It was about $2.65 for a medium / 16 oz. The tea was good and definitely helped warm me up. If I'm ever back in Washington and needing some tea, I'll be sure to try more Woods Coffee options. I've passed this place everytime I've gone down to the states but this time, I was going to Birch Bay for a weekend and my friends & I needed a caffeine fix and we were by The Market to get some groceries to make dinner. The coffee was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't so good that I'd be like "wow, so smooth". The place is clean and comfy. The staff was friendly and they looked like they enjoy working there as they had smiles on their face and were laughing. Update: I've worked it out. The ratios are kind of right, the cups aren't the right size. Yesterday I ordered my latte and the barista gave me one of her latte art practice pulls for free. It was the best latte I've had in here. I asked about it and was told that their ceramic cups and mugs aren't standard sizes, so they "upgrade" everyone. A 12oz mug is actually 14oz, with the extra two ounces being all milk. Now I order a 12oz with an extra shot in a 10oz cup and order is restored. PS, I don't blame them for what they do with the cups. The vast majority of people in here seem to pretend to like the taste of coffee and would appreciate it being diluted. People watching is hilarious. read more

Asking for extra flavor is meaningless as the amount they put in is so little you can barely taste it. Again, I have been to more than one location and received the same poor coffee. At least they are consistent. I also felt as if I was an inconvenience to the folks taking my order. Neither of them were straight up rude... They were dismissive. I won't return... And you should skip this for any other place selling coffee... Starbucks, McDonald's, and roadside stand will offer you better coffee and customer service. I was driving from Richmond, BC to Seattle, WA. Well I need to make a quick washroom break. By chance the exit we took, I saw this place; the sucker I am to try different coffees we stopped by. It was late and there was only one server, she was extremely friendly and greeted us as we entered and helped us with selection. We all used the washroom quickly, which were clean by the way. Then I went to grab a vanilla latte, it was quite nice and the environment of the store was quite good. The seating looked so relaxing that we actually sat down for a bit and enjoyed our drinks. Alright coffee place if you need a fix. Has a convenient drive thru too. The inside has a nice atmosphere with a good amount of seating and has AC on blast for the hot days. Staff is super friendly! A lot of people were getting blended drinks so maybe that's more their thing. The iced latte is what you'd expect for a latte, nothing bad but nothing that made me say 'yuum'. The monster cookie has nuts, M&Ms and chocolate chips but its base is a peanut butter cookie. I don't personally like peanut butter cookies, but if you do I would definitely try it! The texture is more mushy than crunchy. All in all I'd come back if I were near by, but wouldn't make a trip especially for it. read more

Location, good. Right off the freeway. Parking is a breeze. Interior, 3.5 stars- the seating is plentiful but definitely not comfortable- loud too. Service, 4.5 stars- friendly, attentive, fairly quick. Sometimes there is quite the lag when a rush comes. It's reasonable! Coffee 3 stars- not a ton of milk choices, and espresso is fairly weak in my opinion. Overall 3.5 stars- I go because of convenience and consistency. Not a bad spot. read more

I really love the rustic, cabin decor of all the Woods Coffees I've been too. It just feels so cozy. This location has a two sided fireplace; one side is indoors and the other is outside. There are plenty of chairs, benches and tables indoors as well as tables and chairs outside. My barista, Jonathan, was great. He was very friendly and seemed to be a happy type of person. Idk I thought this place was really good. At first, the menu kinda confused me because there's like only ten things on it but of course I've been to enough coffee shops in my life, and I just order my same drink everywhere. I got a "Cedar" (16oz) white chocolate americano (with breve.) It was perfect. Some places add too much syrup/not enough cream, but this one was really good! Just enough ice--not three little cubes but not so full you can't stir it! Ps I have this thing about people at coffee shops touching my straw... and they did it here... the lady just poked the straw in the hole and it always grosses me out idk. But I wiped it with a baby wipe and felt kinda better............. But yeah I went through the drive thru so I can't give any insight on the building's inside. Possibly the most friendly staff I have ever encountered at a coffee shop. I made a long drive from Seattle all the way up to Blaine to get my Global Entry Interview done. Decided to grab a quick breakfast sandwich at Woods Coffee. I wasn't expecting much since I was at an outlet mall where half the stores were closed. But as soon as I entered I was greeted with a smile and a friendly "Hi, how are you doing today." The staff was so welcoming and made sure all of my questions were answered. The sandwich was about the same as starbucks which is what I was expecting. But it has been a couple weeks since I visited this place and I still think back to the staff. That means something. For having limited options in the area, and seeing multiple Woods establishments throughout Whatcom, all the while putting aside and handful of reasons to boycott due to political issues...when you've got a hankering for coffee and going through withdrawal, anything will do. Anything. God will forgive this visit. For those that are in a rush, there is a drive-thru service. Those looking to read the papers and slowly sip a morning brew there is a sit-down area inside. I opted for the drive-thru for convenience. Coffee convenience. Ordering: While it's very cutesy to have names for each of the sizes, the actual liquid amounts are not listed. I had to guesstimate and then ask for a little assistance on which is equivalent to a Tall, and in that guesstimate I wound up with a Cedar (Grande--2shots). Prices: Insert wide eyes. No bells or whistles, a grande simple coffee with two shots of espresso was nearly $5. Taste: Meh, for a coffee that is that price it should be like rocket fuel and be strong. Instead it's watered down. Slightly saddened because there were high hopes for this. Service: Friendly baristas that helped this girl try and figure out how to order blindly.
