This branch of Starbucks marks the 77th branch of the chain I have visited and reviewed, and it is the second store I have visited during my trip in Berlin. This branch is located in some sort of mall or train station at Alexanderplatz, and I found it during a row of inside shops after getting off a train from Alexanderplaz.
I arrived tired, wanting a coffee, after a long and delayed flight and a troublesome experience getting to Berlin city centre from the airport, this is one of two locations fairly close to each other and is the location inside, based on Yelp reviews it is often seen as the better branch with an average of 4.0 stars, rather than 2.5 stars which the other Alexanderplaz branch has, however, I found both branches to be terrible.
This store does look quite nice from the outside and has a decent range of merchandise such as city mugs from major cities in Germany including Hamburg and Berlin, but sadly that is about it, the size of the store inside seems quite small and the range of seating is highly minimal, some seem to be lined up with the counter so it is so easy to feel squashed in this store, which is a shame.
The service also lacked, and like the store, the staff gave off an unwelcoming and unfriendly vibe, which this store also has in common with the other Alexpanderplatz nearby, as well as the lack of seating of course and the really high pricing especially when compared to UK standards, sadly due to the reasons discussed and the overall unwelcoming nature of the store, I sadly feel it deserves a single one star rating. read more
