One of the few places that get a traditional Italian espresso just spot on. It was dense, silky and deep dark caramel color, nutty and with chocolate hints. You can pair this with the most amazing pettite chocolate shuffle you can taste! Its worth just going there just for an espresso and the chocolate shuffle. It's about a 15 minute walk from all the theaters in museums right on the the heart of Berlin. A super popular cafe located in a good area in the center of the city. When I walked in there were already quite a few people sitting around, but when I sat down with my coffee an even larger flood of people suddenly came in, taking up the rest of the seats! I ordered a flat white. I stood at the counter for a little bit before what looked like the owner and another employee came back to the front. They were in the midst of conversation but were still very friendly. The owner(?) made my coffee very quickly. The flat white interestingly enough came in a glass cup with no handles....My poor weak fingers Still totally managable though, and very picturesque. The coffee itself was really good, and it was one of the best flat whites I've had. The price was pretty average for a cafe as well. Would recommend visiting, especially if you're tired from exploring Berlin. read more

Wonderful experience! We were actually heading to the restaurant next door for breakfast but decided it was a bit pricey for our hunger level. I got an espresso (1,7 €) and my boyfriend got a cappachino, both of which were good. We both got bagel sandwiches and our meal cost less than 10€. The bagel sandwiches were mozzarella cheese, sundried tomato, rocket (arugula), and pesto. Very good! The staff is quite friendly and it is a nice environment too. They looked good for salads for lunch too! read more

Best coffee in Berlin! We had some interesting experiences with coffee in Germany to say the least. A macchiato in Australia certainly is not a macchiato in Germany! These guys serve straight up great coffee, from an easy to understand menu. What you ask for is what you get- there is no confusion as to whether the coffee is hot or cold (yes this happened in Hamburg), the coffee is black (I'm serious), or the coffee is basically a really weak latte in a milkshake glass (hello Hamburg again). If you want your espresso/macchiato/cappuccino to be as good as it is in Melbourne, come here when you travel to Berlin! read more

When our internet connection was down for 2 weeks at our pad, we made a daily trek over to Espresso Ambulanz. I've found the staff to be super-friendly, the cappuccino absolutely delish -- creamy and rich and flavorful.....and the internet connection saved my sanity. I'd still go back for the coffee. Definitely good coffee if you are in the area. The Bolivian barista is super friendly and accommodates every wish you might have. I had a piece of blueberry cheese cake which was fine but nothing too exciting. The little sitting area is comfortable. The owner is a character - he also runs the place next door Berlin-Theke. read more

Have visited here on several occasions, and like the previous reviewer I totally agree. This is a good place to grab a nice quality espresso macchiato and take use of the free WiFi and get some work done while overlooking the Oranienburger Straße. Also on offer is a selection of Tea's, chocolate, sandwiches and fruit salads. Be warned though, there isn't much seating available. read more

Choosing a place to meet for coffee in Berlin is like deciding for the perfect pair of shoes for a date, way too many options and choices. Luckily each Berlin coffee place has its own little charm to get the attention of passing by locals, tourists or homecoming visitors as myself and if the shoe doesn't fit next door is the next option waiting for a try out ! While waiting for friends near Oranienburger Straße the Espresso Ambulanz caught my interest. While looking at the name and the big Red Cross, I was like yea this could kick my energy level and be a good spot to enjoy the afternoon. This decision turned out to a good choice instead of getting a cappuccino as planed I had a Chai latte, which was perfect, cos I had bad ones in the past, the barrister was really friendly and paid attention to my beloved allergies and we went through the 10 different Chai boxes to chose the Tiger Chai which is honey free and suitable for me ;) My friend took a green Chai latte which she fall in love with. Before ordering seconds we had mint/orange infused water which was a nice refreshment. If I am in the Oranienburger / Friedrichstraße area I am pretty sure I will call in again, cos the mix of friendly service, the tasty Chai and the location just convinced me so if you out and about check it out... read more

Due to the area, picks up a lot of (mostly European) tourists and passers-by, but is still clearly a local place.
