I saw some other reviews that claimed it was "their favorite" or "the best" of Berlin's coffee shops. I certainly haven't found any reason to doubt that! I came a bit before opening, but the baristas were kind enough to get my drink going while they were still stocking the case. They were gracious and helpful. Lastly, their latte art was A++. I sampled their cappuccino, some of their black coffee, and a lemon poppyseed cake, and everything was delicious. The portions were sizable and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop when I'm in the area. Logistical notes: the free WiFi didn't work for me, but there were other public networks nearby that fit my needs. Great coffee shop in Berlin with excellent food options open early on Sunday mornings! My running teammates and I were looking for something to eat before going to cheer at the marathon and this is the only spot we could find open in the immediate area at 9 am - thank goodness because it was excellent! I ordered a black coffee, vegan apple crumble to go and the avocado toast with smoked salmon. The toast took a bit longer than I anticipated to come out but when it did the portion was huge - two thick slices of bread and a side salad! It was so delicious I wish I could have finished it all. I took the apple crumble to go as a course side snack for later and it did not disappoint - hours later it was still incredibly tasty! I definitely have this place saved for next time I'm in town regardless of what time it is or what other options are open! read more

Easily my favorite coffee shop in Berlin. Ambience / coffee / food - 5 stars throughout. They offer several sorts of origin coffee (try the Columbian!) as well as tea, with your choice of cow, soy, or oat milk. Just yesterday I tried their cappuccino and was pleased with the creamy texture and the bold flavor. There are also plenty of food options - sandwiches, yogurts, fruit bowls, soups - on a medium price scale. I must have come at the wrong time, because this cafe was not as cozy as described. Rather it was jam-packed with students, making it difficult to find an open spot. There was a lot of food available, but I didn't look at any of it closely, since I imagined there probably wouldn't be any vegan gluten-free options. No problem though, because I didn't come to eat. Instead I ordered a black coffee. I went to a table in the back corner which still had food and dishes on it from the previous diners, but it was one of the only places open (and believe me, there are a lot of places to sit). When I left an hour later, it still hadn't been cleaned up, which is kind of gross. Not only that, but there were a handful of guys just standing behind the counter. I suppose they could have maybe cleaned up? There is free WiFi but it's spotty. For one, I had to like their page on Facebook to access it. Another thing that was annoying was that every time I would close my laptop (like when I moved from the aforementioned dirty table [that was also right next to the heater and making me sweat in the middle of winter], it would disconnect and then prompt me to find and reconnect to the network. That aside, the coffee itself was really good. If I were to come at a not-so-peak time and if the staff were to be more consistent with cleaning up after people leave, then I could see myself enjoying this place more. Two words... Simply amazing! Quite the feel of Portland's best coffee places but instead you are in the middle of Berlin! Coffee and tea selection are good and they have some good desserts/snacks on the side. They have morning croissant and pain au chocolat as well for the most difficult of you. Walking around Friedrichstrasse there are lots of cafes to stop in but this one was cute and under the train which makes for an interesting cafe experience. Came here with a friend to grab lunch and the amount of food there was for there being such a tiny kitchen was surprising. I got the lemongrass tea in a bottle which was tasty (and I know it was bottles and I just bought it but...), and also the red soup which was a nice clear red soup with lots of vegetables. When they hand it to you they tell you to just take some bread... "some" bread which is bread from a basket with thick slices of nice white bread! Of course I took two slices! It was delicious! My friend got their prepackaged cous cous and was eager to find out what spices had made it so curry-like and delicious. I may have just come at a bad time, but I didn't have quite the positive experience as the others here on Yelp. I came here with a friend after class around 2:00PM on a Wednesday. Despite having lots of tables, it was pretty crowded - we had difficultly finding a place for two people. I got the Iced Americano (2.8 euros), and I admit the coffee was good. It was only half filled though - I wish they had topped it off with more water. The wifi was very difficult to connect to (I could only connect my phone, but not my computer), and it would disconnect every so often. The people sitting around me also seemed to be having trouble with this. Also, we couldn't find any outlets to charge our laptops, forcing us to leave when our batteries ran out. All in all, it seems like a good place to swing by to grab something quick to eat or chat with a friend. Not to stay for a while to do work. Really cozy place, with comfy seating and just generally a nice atmosphere. Wasn't particularly fond of the Müsli yogurt I got, but it may be that it's just not my thing generally. Couldn't find any outlets but there is free wifi! So, good place for working/studying if your laptop is charged. Edit: Found one outlet in a corner of the café! Best coffee of my freaking life !!!!!!!!!! Seriously. I was taking a walk trying to find the tower and at the same time fighting through the kebab dinner from the night before which gave me zero energy the next morning. (Are you still with me?) when we passed Pure Origins. I got a caramel macchiato and some free wifi (!!) and it was delicious -- there was a certain smoothness that I hadn't experienced with any other coffee and I am not exaggerating. I came here to do some work on my laptop and expected a quiet place, it is not! So noisy with loud music. The plugs are limited. Also, you get internet password which is valid only for one hour. So if you're planning to stay for a few hours, you need to keep asking for a new password. It's like they're asking you to leave after the first hour! But the food is nice and the staff is so nice, so maybe it's a good place to stay if I don't want to study or work. read more

Scrambled eggs were the worst; actually mostly water in the bowl, though not sure how you get that much water in eggs. Croissant was edible, but not a good croissant. Best coffee I have had in Berlin so far. I'm from Portland, Oregon and consider myself a bit of a coffee snob.

I've been coming here for awhile and was just told there is some sort of laptop ban now, which is totally new and there is no sign saying anything about this in the cafe. Not a good way to keep the customers happy guys, changing things that affect them without any warning?? Used to come here and spend 10-15 Euros in a few hours' session which may not sound like a lot but it adds up when you have a person who is coming regularly. I guess they figure they can do without the money but it's still not a good way to treat people. Just saying. read more

Good coffees and nice food, the place is big enough especially with the nice terrace in the summer, and the staff is friendly.

Love it here - its right across from the Grimm Zentrum library and is a great spot to take a break from studying, or to sit and study inside. The coffee is delicious, the prepared salads are freshly made and awesome (especially love the quinoa salad!) and the brownies are yummy.
