Berlin is full of notable, hip cafes, and Kaffeemitte is one of them. I wandered in one morning in search of working Wi-Fi and was really impressed with their drinks and atmosphere. They also have a small selection of sandwiches, salads, and pastries. There were plenty of people reading, talking, and being lovebird-y, so it's definitely a comfortable environment. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but it was nice to have it near the hostel where I was staying. read more

Having gone by here everyday before and after work, I finally decided to drop in and check the cafe out myself. I must say that the interior is very nice and cosy, but also minimalistic, not what I expected. The staff was also very nice and the prices ok for it being in Mitte. The chocolate croissant I had was absoluetly delicious and now I will have to fight hard, to not go in there all the time and grap one... So, a nice cafe, with a nice interior that I will be visiting again either to drink coffee or have lunch or to get something to go. read more

Miss this place. I lived around the corner from Kaffeemitte for a few months and went here nearly every morning when walking the dog (he loved it too). They're a great place to have breakfast, lunch, or just grab a coffee to go. They have high-quality food that's a mix of standard cafe fare and German and Italian cuisine. It can get crowded at times and their internet connection is great for a quick email check but don't expect to be able to work from the cafe for any length of time. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Somehow I missed the breakfast menu but did end up getting a delicious, crunchy and warm panini. It was a pear and cheese panini that came with a side salad. According the website, their panini menu changes weekly to "[follow] the principle of "Slow Food" movement." I quite liked my coffee. It was strong and semi-frothy on top, made in the Italian style which seems to be very popular in Berlin. It is an order and pay right away type-restaurant. At the cash register they give the customer a buzzer to let them know when the food was ready. When the buzzer goes off, the customer can walk over to the counter and pick up their ready meal. On that counter top is where one can find silverware and napkins. The coffee on the other hand is made quickly right after ordering at the register so customers should stand by. The outdoor seating was perfect given the weather. The cafe is situated in such a way that it gets great morning and afternoon light. The bench we sat on was a little wobbly--likely because of the uneven floor outside but it wasn't bad. Would certainly recommend this place. Glad I stumbled upon it. read more

The staff here are so friendly, the wifi is fast and it's the perfect place to sit and work with a coffee.

Wonderful eatery. The sandwiches and coffee are amazing. Great desert. Watch for well dressed people trying to steal your phones from the outdoor seating areas. The lines and the wait can be long ( hence the 4 stars ) but the food gets 5 stars :) read more

For me a slight disappointment. Is is a hipster place, but sort of stuck on the "half way". Actually, I am not sure whether it is really hipster place or just a sloppy place... Service is not really careful, not unfriendly, but just not careful enough, even for Berlin... I didn't like the coffee, it was almost good but it had a sour taste that I do not like. I constantly has a feeling of having poured a sour milk into my cappuccino. However, the cake is great! read more

It is always so crowd and you probably have to queue up to get the drinks and cakes. I really like the drinks they offer, it is tasty and of fair price. Next time I am gonna to try out their pasta or breakfast. read more

I watched the video about the Torrefazione Belardi, the roaster of the coffee they sell at Kaffeemitte. The little video made me go there and test the beans myself. I tried the Espresso and it was great. Like a little trip to Perugia:-) read more

Good coffee, nice location, but poor service. When my girlfriend and I ordered, the guy who took the order looked positively annoyed at our simple order of an espresso and a cappuchino. The espresso was great, but when we went back to order more, the dude's attitude was even worse. It was like he felt too cool to offer proper service. I was disappointed after reading all these positive reviews, and will probably not return. read more

This is a beautiful place right in the centre of the shopping district of Mitte. I happened upon Kaffeemitte today after having done a bit of shopping. I felt like something sweet they had the prefect thing for me too. I ordered a slice of the Cheesecake which was delicious. The crust was buttery and super flavourful and the filling bit was a nice balance between Ricotta cheese and sour creme. Just perfect! read more

My greek salad was great. The service was terrible. The woman behind the counter was so rude. Doesn't really make me want to go back there.

Kind of a disappointment this place. Went in today as it seemed quite exciting from outside and we had walked by many times. From the design it is quite nice but service is horrible. I saw them basically screw up each order from the people who ordered ahead of me. Then they also screwed up our order, giving us something different from what we ordered. Once we were seated you could also see the staff was not really happy to work with one another and the guy in back making sandwiches was clearly not happy about his job. I guess if you need to grab a quick coffee to go a good place to stop in. The cake also seemed appealing but we didn't stick around to try it out as the place was also cold. Everything is concrete and they could turn the heat up a bit. On a positive note, if you need wireless LAN, the Telekom store next door has one and it reaches into the cafe. read more

I've been there once and it was not a good experience. I was with a friend and we both ordered at the same time, but while he got his dish ten minutes afterwards, I had to wait 45 minutes before they come and tell me they didn't have the ingredients necessary. So they did another dish instead. But to be honest the quantity and taste were not sufficient, and I would have appreciated a commercial gesture as an excuse. read more

I absolutely love this cafe. I stayed in an apartment across the street and I saw a line of people out the door one day and I thought, wow I've got to try this place. There are lots of great cafes and restaurants in the Mitte neighborhood, but this place I will definitely return to when I go back to Berlin. Everything I had to eat was well prepared and delicious, the only problem for me is that they don't take credit cards, I wish they would fix that and then I would have eaten there everyday. read more

We visited Berlin this Summer and made a point to visit Kaffemitte after reading reviews and getting recommendations from friends who'd visited in the past.
