This review is for the location at Colony Square next to Rumi's. My brother and I stopped at this location for pastries and coffee prior to visiting the Piedmont park arts festival on Sunday. This location is handy if you happen to live or work in the immediate area. My office is down the street and my employer provides me a free parking spot so it's convenient for me. Parking in the Colony Square parking deck is an expensive flat fee whenever there is an event at Piedmont park- it's $35 today- expensive! This location has shaded outdoor seating and pleasant indoor seating with individual and communal space to sit and work or hangout. I find this specific location to be consistently well staffed with friendly and efficient staff. My drinks are prepared correctly and taste good. The pastries are fresh and they always offer to serve them warm. The seating areas are generally kept clean. Chris and I sat in the plush chairs to the right of the counter and found it a great spot to plan our December vacation for his birthday. Chris loved his macchiato. I loved my oat milk and brown sugar coffee. We shared a blueberry scone and a pumpkin bread and then snacked on the rice treat later. My one critique of this location is that it lacks a dedicated bathroom. If you are alone and want to use the restroom then you risk having your belongings stolen unless you pack them up and take them with you however your spot at a chair or table will be gone when you return. There is a non gender handicap accessible bathroom close to the entrance, however on our visit it was locked most likely due to the large homeless population loitering around us. The staff didn't have a key. So all of the patrons needing the restroom have to take an elevator to the lower level business center of Colony Square where clean bathrooms are located. I noticed that these bathrooms had badge readers so I assume that at certain times they may be locked and require permission to enter. A major inconvenience when you just want to wash your hands before and after drinking and eating especially when hand washing is more important than ever considering Covid and monkey pox. Other than the restroom inconvenience, we love this location. read more

I don't typically do reviews for major chains like Starbucks, but I just wanted to give this location and team a quick shoutout. I've come here several times, usually for a grab and go order. But during my most recent visit, I linked up with an old colleague and decided to stay a while. The barista who took my order asked if I wanted a mug rather than a to go cup. A small, yet nice touch! I obliged and decided to use a mug. Apparently, this is one of the changes enacted by the new CEO. I think Starbucks should absolutely keep this change. Additionally, when I asked for a refill on my coffee, one of the baristas was so sweet that he made me a fresh brew, and brought my coffee to my table. Again, a small yet lovely touch. Oh, and they are FINALLY brewing Ethiopian coffee. My favorite blend. It is very smooth. Highly recommend for folks who don't want a fancy latte, but still a great quality drink. read more

Starbucks always has solid coffee, so that's nothing new. This location has a small parking lot behind the building which is super convenient as well. The interior is unlike any Starbucks I've ever been in. It has a new feel, with a different counter setup, a little bar seating area, and a different vibe. The thing that sets this place apart and makes it probably the best Starbucks I have ever been in is the people though. First off, everyone has a unique thing going on. They are all wearing cool hats. A couple of the ladies were in interesting outfits (I'm pretty sure one was dressed like Strawberry Shortcake). The guy taking the orders at the register was fun. The people were awesome. What really did it though was the barista Pop (clearly not her real name). We got to talking about the best way to make a pour over coffee, so she walked me through it as she was making one. We then discussed the pros and cons of brewing methods, and even got into the benefits of single roast vs a blend. We sampled coffees and discussed the flavor notes. It was like a wine tasting session, but impromptu and with coffee at 10am on a Wednesday. The time she took out of her busy morning to multitask and educate me and make me feel welcome was astounding. You don't find service and customer focus like that any more, but it left a lasting impression. Whenever I am in ATL, I will make it a point to drive into midtown and stop at this Starbucks. I was having a meeting next door & wanted to pick up some Gift Cards. The Baristo behind the counter was friendly. After I picked out the Gift Card & paid for it, I noticed there were additional themes located behind the communal table that was temporarily closed. Actually, all the tables had temporarily closed signs on display. I was told they didn't know when the inside seating would re-open, yet in the interim there's a huge patio that's open. I go to Colony Square every month for my son's ortho appointments. They're usually very early in the morning before his school starts. So naturally, I am barely awake and need some coffee to get me through the long appointment and love drive. That's where this Starbucks comes in. I've been here a handful of times now and have never had an issue. The baristas are friendly and my usual order of cinnamon honey oat milk latte has been consistently good. I've occasionally ordered breakfast sandwiches as well. Although this Starbucks gets really busy, they move quickly and efficiently. I never wait long for my order(s). The dining room is currently closed, but the shared dining area outside of Starbucks is open. I often see people working and/or dining there. I take my order to go, so I haven't had a need for a table. I always look forward to getting my latte here whenever I'm in Colony Square! read more

On my way to appointment close by and wanted a coffee. Didn't really want to pay alot for a coffee but this was only place close, and I had a gift card for here. Ordered mocha frappe with caramel drip, cost about $5 for smallest one. It was ok, not as good as McDonalds same frappe for only $2. Inside was clean and neat. Service was slooooow even though there were at least 6 employees and very few customers. How can people afford to get coffee here all the time? read more

PLEASE! There is no way this Starbucks could get ONE STAR! The staff is totally unaware that there is anyone to even ring up and if slow was a speed they would be motionless! And this is not just an off day this is everyday but does Starbucks care! NOT! And talk about racist in reverse I ordered a unheated brownie and 4 Africa American people after me not only got their drinks and heated food while I still had nothing! So in other words RACISM is alive and well at the Starbucks @ Colony Square and in addition taking all your cleaning supplies when you go because undoubtedly they don't CLEAN! EVER! It's worth walking down 14th Street to the next Starbucks! We live and learn and realize Midtown is just a tourist trap and nothing more! read more

Decent sized Starbucks not more than two blocks from the Arts Center METRA stop. Very large outdoor seating area which is great and there are tables inside that have power outlets. Free wifi worked well. Otherwise, it's exactly the same as other Starbucks with coolers of drinks and pastries and whatnot. read more

I've gone here twice for mobile orders. Both times I watched the staff let finished mobile orders pile up without calling customer names (some, not all... and the orders are behind a barrier, so you cannot pick them up yourself). Both times I was one of those customers, and both times what ended up being my drink was added to the pile after I arrived. I know they get really busy (so I hate to interrupt and end up waiting a while), but calling names for all the orders should be automatic. If you are just not sure how to say my name, I promise I will not call the police if you get it wrong! read more

I walked all the way to this Starbucks yesterday (day 2 of the 2011 Atlanta Snowpocalypse) from Atlantic Station. Yeah, I know there's a Starbucks in Atlantic Station and it was open as well, but I had cabin fever, so I went for a long walk. Ended up at Colony Square near Piedmont Park, so stopped in to grab a hot drink. I was looking for something sweet and didn't really want caffeine. Their caramel apple spice looked good, so I ended up ordering that. Starbucks can really stick it to you. This drink was nothing more than apple juice, some cinnamon syrup, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. Smalls started at over $3.00. They advertise the apple juice as being freshly pressed, but that wasn't the case as I saw them bring out plastic bottles of apple juice from the back to make the drink. There was nothing wrong with the drink, but it's something I could've easily made at home. This Starbucks is located at the bottom of an office building in Colony Square. I imagine they get tons of business from people who work in the immediate vicinity. The shop is long and narrow and has free Wi-Fi. There was actually a lot of traffic during the afternoon despite all the snow and ice and the employees did a good job of taking orders and moving traffic along. My most frequented Starbucks. This place pumps out drinks even on the busiest days as quickly as possibly. I always order on the app ahead of time and it's ready waiting for me every time, even if I'd put in my order just a few minutes ago. Josh the barista always greets me by name and manages to remember lots of his customers' names despite seeing hundreds of faces each morning. My only complaint is that there isn't more seating, but when it moves to the new colony square location, I'm hoping this will be fixed! I rate Starbucks on two things due to the overwhelming similarity of most. Comfort of seating and ratio of smelly people to non smelly people. This one has almost 0 smelly people. There are some one person cushioned seats that are acceptable and the lines move quickly. What else can be said about a Starbucks? Do you want me to talk about the coffee? No! You already know what the coffee taste like! I guess the only other area to talk about would be the cleanliness of the bathroom. Gosh the people who work here are always so nice. It's a little cramped, but they are fixing it with another Starbucks in the 100 building. Even when the line is long they go so quickly and patiently await your order. Pretty much every time I walk in I get four Hellos and Goodbyes. Great way to start the day. This Starbucks is located on the ground level of the Colony Square building in Midtown Atlanta. I frequently come here when I am in Colony Square on business. It's just about as good as any other Starbucks so it's worth a visit if you're in the area and need caffeine or a snack. This particular store is a little smaller than some other Starbucks venues, and when I come on a Saturday morning most of the comfortable chairs seem to be taken, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. I haven't experienced any problems with the internet connection or the interior climate. The baristas serving up the drinks are friendly and efficient, though sometimes there are several people waiting in a line. It seems there is only about one person staffing the register and one barista preparing the drinks, so there may be a little longer wait than you might have. Given its location, there is no drive through operation, so the staff can concentrate only on the walk in traffic. read more

Staff are very nice and accommodating. They don't get five stars just because once I had a very early morning meeting and need a case of coffee and I had to wait around to get it filled up, but every other interaction with the team has been pretty great. For example, today, I placed an order online, and apparently their system hadn't updated in time, so when I showed up, the food I ordered wasn't there. But they were aware of the issue and immediately let me know and asked whether I would like to opt out for something else or get a refund. This place is incredibly busy too and they still manage to treat customers well. All around very impressed, and it's probably the best Starbucks I've ever been to in terms of service. read more

Personality!!!!! There is NONE! Some people that work at this location has ZERO customer service skills. Not always rude but will flat out not even speak to you at the window or when you go inside. Very slow service with no sense of urgency to get people in and out and when you wait a long time they don't even apologize. After going to the North Druid location for over a year and then moving to Buckhead it's night and Day. North Druid truly appreciates their customers. Always fast and amazing customer service. Really wish I didn't have to go to the peachtree location but it's the closes to my new place in Buckhead. I generally prefer not to dine at chain establishments but when you're downtown and you need a quick fix to cool you down in the heat of summer, Starbuck's is like a 911 call box posted on your nearest corner. I stopped in to grab for a refreshing pick me up. I got the mango black tea lemonade which was very good. I really like this place because of course, the location is great; right in the heart of midtown on Peachtree close to all of the museums. I can only assume that it can be a bit chaotic Monday through Friday but the way the place is laid out is conducive to getting work done. There are a decent amount of chairs and tables and ample outlets in the seating area. The service was fast and friendly and the space itself was clean. No complaints. This is a great Starbucks, in a great location in Midtown. Right on the corner of 14th & Peachtree (ground floor of Colony Square), this Starbucks is prime location for anyone in the area. I frequent this specific location due to proximity to work and where I live. The baristas are great, all very friendly. This location can get crowded on weekdays between 8-9am and 2-4pm, but you can always Mobile Order via the Starbucks app during those times and they will have your drink ready within 5 minutes. They have some seating inside, but you also have additional seating inside Colony Square since it's a pseudo-mall/food court inside. There is also plenty of outdoor shaded seating, which is ideal. Highly recommend this location. Have been here plenty of times, and have never had a complaint! The quality of the drinks are great too, compared to some other locations in Atlanta that I've been to. read more

Staff was friending enough, but the store is way too busy to be of any good. Store cleanliness is terrible. Sugar and stir sticks all over the customer prep station. They only have 1 guy making drinks and he is so backed up from all the customers it takes too long to get an order. I even tried using mobile order, but it was the same. I wouldn't have seen myself reviewing a Starbucks, let alone at 4 stars, but gotta give a good shout-out to this one. Our sandwiches were good, esp. the bread, and our lemon pound cake. The service was friendly. And the #1 point about this Starbucks in Colony Square is that they're open on Sunday. I completely respect Chik-Fil-A for closing on Sundays, but why is hardly anything in Colony Square open in the vicinity of destinations like the High Museum, Woodruff Arts Center, and Piedmont Park? Goldberg's sign even says they are open 7 days--well they weren't open yesterday. I'm not going to rate Goldberg's a 1-star if I didn't eat there, but I'm definitely going to use this review to ding them. Thanks Starbucks for having something good to offer. read more

Employees have NO sense of urgency. Whether there are two or seven employees working, service is painfully slow. Employees are nice but very inconsistent. I asked for banana bread and specifically asked for it to not be heated up so I could eat it right away. They still made me wait 5 minutes for the item. I have considered contacting management but I have seen a regional manager in store who didn't seem to care that the line was long and staff was slow. I could see if there was an occasional rush where two employees are caught off guard but they are consistently slow regardless of the number of employees on duty. read more
