Having been to the Fisheries and the Botanical Garden before, we were looking for a different place to stop. A quiet offbeat place with food and sweet treats was what I had in mind. Callaways Coffee and Bistro popped up as a little house with adorable photos and lovely reviews and off we went. It was perfect. They have REAL FOOD here. I tried to reproduce the menu, but seriously they have pages of breakfast, salads and sandwiches. And COFFEE, of course. I had this amazing 100% Angus patty Cheeseburger - an enormous perfectly cooked patty. ($9.95) My husband ordered the Ragun Cajun, a spicy Chicken breast on ciabatta that he loved. ($9.95) They still had pie, blondies, cookies and assorted yummy sweet treats under glass. I had the Buttermilk pie with a Tender crust and totally delicious filling! ($2.75) Our server was a terrific young man; personable, helpful and a good cook! We had a good time. The bathroom is Unisex and clean. There is plenty of seating. The bacon was also good. The biscuits and gravy was okay. The rest of the buffet was not good. My wife didn't find anything she liked to eat. The waitresses were very nice and attentive. The dining area seemed very dark. I feel it should have been better lighting for Breakfast and Lunch. The restaurant was very full so I'm sure they have a local following. But this was not my preference.
