Ordered a Venti Paradise Punch with Cold Foam at 2:53pm. As you can see from the picture - headed to the school pickup line and no sips taken. What's wrong here? Missing a large amount of the actual liquid, and it's half cold foam! It tastes just like foam, nothing else. And when made at any other location, it's a delicious pineapple drink. This is the last time that I give this location my $$. It's not worth the Drive-thru when I pay for a large and barely get half of a medium. The Starbucks in the Altoona Target is the absolute best and the one in our HyVee grocery is still better than this one, and they run out of ingredients on the regular. I order from this location at least twice a week and I use the app to order ahead. The customer service is always great. The staff they have is always friendly despite being busy and having a ton of orders! My order is usually a venti sweet cream cold brew and it's always consistent and ready for me when I walk in. The ambiance and atmosphere is always great in large part because of the hard working individuals behind the counter. The music is always going and adds for a nice coffee shop atmosphere. I always make sure to tell them I appreciate them because working in this type of service industry can be difficult when customers are impatient. The crew here is fantastic! read more

Today was BAD. DO NOT MOBILE ORDER HERE. I realized today why my mobile orders are always off temperature. They make it right away and let it sit on the counter. Today was unusual for me, as when I got there the drive thru was 7-8 cars deep. So I parked and went it. I stood at the mobile order counter, tried to make eye contact with legit 4 employees, to no avail. There was no one in the cashier line and the guy working there was just standing. I went over and told him I had a mobile order. He pointed to the mobile order pick-up counter and said "Yeah, you pick it up down there." I replied "I already tried that, no one is helping me." He simply turned away from me. What the actually fudge? So I go back down through the sea of other customers waiting for their drinks, I make it to the counter, again, no one acknowledges me. I realize I have to get my own drink. So I sift through all the drinks sitting on the counter until I find mine. It's now melted and the wrong size. I had to go. Pulled up at 6:58 and realized there was a sign that said "Due to short staffing we will be closing at 7:00" We then proceeded to wait there until 7 and nobody helped us. This is an easy to get to Starbucks in Altoona right in a strip mall and right off the interstate. The lady taking the order in the drive thru was a bit space and seemed distracted. She kept having to go back and I'm guessing ask a co worker about the order, maybe she was new. She was nice at least!! It just took a little longer to put in our order. We ordered two Smoked butterscotch frappachino's one made with almond milk and one regular. They were delicious! I just wish they had the flavor year round! My coffee is always great, but the service could be improved. I often use the mobile order function through the Starbucks app and understandably due to Covid-19 they are no longer allowing customers to pick up their drinks from the designated mobile order pick up spot, they are having an employee hand it to you. However, when I went in to pick up my mobile order there are no employees available to hand the drink to me. After a couple minutes, I kindly tried to get the employee nearest to the mobile order pick up spot attention ("hi, excuse me, could you-") but I (and a couple other customers) were ignored multiple times, even when this employee gave someone else their drink. I understand mornings can be busy, but I think that if you are going to allow mobile ordering, you should at least have the decency to acknowledge those customers waiting (i.e. "I'll be with you in a minute") instead of ignoring or pretending like you don't see/hear them. read more

BUT here I was Ignored at the counter, order behind me (2 drinks including a frapp) ready before mine (double espresso), watched employees visibly chatting with each other over headsets with eye contact and emptying garbage before picking up my cup. First of all, regardless of my experience here, people should definitely give this place a try. It has unique coffees, great atmosphere, and a nice staff. I really want this place to succeed, because this branch has so much potential. It is in a great location, and the Starbucks Reserve concept is really nice. The coffee selection is much better for people who are a little more picky. But after over a month of repeated attempts, this place is still just terrible. They routinely forget to put espresso shots into drinks (you know, the COFFEE part of the coffee). When they do get it done, it just doesn't meet the standards of other places. The staff is slow, disorganized (they just kind of run around doing whatever, instead of finding a task and sticking to it), and looks like it really needs training. To me, they don't seem to understand how to use the new Clover machine either. Someone needs to come address this stuff. I am posting this so that (hopefully), these repeated shortcomings can get some attention, so that the next review of this place can be much more positive. Good luck, Starbucks! read more

I came to this location because it's the only place in Altoona that does order pick up and the milk in the coffee was bad!! Both me and a the other co-worker that ordered coffee got sick!! I will never be coming back to this location. There are 2 better locations in Altoona they just aren't drive- thru and don't do order pick up but it's worth just going in and ordering for fresh and good coffee. I mow a vacant parcel of land once a week. After mowing, I stop in at Starbucks in the afternoon at about 3 PM. I get a cold drink and a snack. I read e-mails and enjoy sitting in a leather chair to cool off. The food is always good. It is easy to park in front. The Starbucks Coffeeshop is very close to I-80 and Prairie Meadows Gambling Casino and Adventureland Amusement Park. I recommend it. read more

Just ordered a salted caramel frap and this is the second time I've been to this Starbucks and they aren't consistent with other near by Starbucks. They didn't add the caramel around the interior of the cup and salted bits on the top of the frap. It's frustrating because when you order something you expect it to come like all of the other Starbucks. It really changed the flavor profile. This is a very busy location. They seemed understaffed. I usually have to wait about ten minutes for my order. I stopped in today and ordered an iced coffee topped with the new cold brew whipped cream and was charged an additional 50 cents. I waited 8 minutes and was handed a drink and Informed they were out of the cold brew whipped cream. I informed the barista I was charged for the whipped cream and she responded, "I guess I could make you some." I told her that I was running and and couldn't wait. This morning I went to this Starbucks location before my husband left for work to use a gift card. After ordering two coffees, the total ended up being more than what was left on the card. Realizing I had left my debit card at home, I pulled up and immediately started apologizing, asking her to take the second coffee off my order as I did not have enough to cover it. At first I thought I had annoyed her because she was silent as she was punching numbers into the register. Finally she turned to me, handed over both coffees, saying she paid for the second one and to have a nice day. I was completely taken aback because these things never happen to me. I thanked her a million times so that she hopefully knew how much this simple gesture meant to me. As a stay-at-home mom with a 3 month old and two year old, I needed that coffee more than she realized. Starbucks, you have the right people working at this location.
