I have a few Starbucks locations I can go to but I almost always come to this location. The one on wolf road, the drive thru line is always SO long you wait forever. This place is so flipping fast. I have only ever had to wait more than 3 minutes a couple times. There is a super hot barista that works here now too. Sir, I'm sorry for objectifying you but damn! Somehow having a hot guy serve you coffee just makes it taste better ‍ in all seriousness I will never understand the Starbucks haters. Their coffee is GOOD! Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. This is one of the larger locations in the region. Plenty of study space, seating, etc. Casual atmosphere with standard fare and drinks. Mobile app is misleading and consistently lists products as being unavailable so make sure to just stop by and see. Parking is confusing your first time and depending on which direction you're coming from it'll likely be easier to turn into the drive thru area and loop around back for parking. read more

I hate Starbucks. I love Starbucks. It's complicated. But my understanding is that despite all of the Starbucks all over the world, everybody has one that is theirs. Well, this one is my Starbucks. Sure there may not be outside seating (that overlooks a parking lot) like the one in Stuyvesant Plaza. But I've never had the really bad experience here like I did there. Plus, this one has a drive through window. And while I would never ever, never ever advocate for drinking a cappuccino out of a paper cup through a plastic lid, sometimes a hot black cup of coffee is just what you need when you are on the go. I cannot vouch for any of their espresso based drinks. Well, I mean, I suspect they are all substandard, yet still better than what you will get at a gas station. But IMHO Starbucks needs to be put on trial for crimes against espresso. That's another story. read more

I came here yesterday to meet a friend and study for the day. I have been to a lot of Starbucks locations but this one was the best set up to study in I have seen. I sat a tall table that also functioned as a standing desk. The table had outlets built into it and that proved to be a real joy. I had come here before while I was attending SUNY Albany. This was before their renovation and I must say the new set up is a huge improvement. The staff were friendly and accommodating which was a great seeing as I spent about 8 hours there. I will definitely come back here. However I will make sure that I get here pretty early since a lot of the tables fill up very quickly. I stop at this particular location every so often on my way into work when I don't have time to brew my own coffee at home. In the past, I can say that the service has been a little bit off putting. But lately it seems like the service has gotten much better in the few times I've visited over the last couple of months. They recently did some renovations requiring them to be closed for a period, and I haven't been physically inside since, but it seems they may have revamped their team as well, because that's around the time that I noticed better service. Drive thru staff has been extremely friendly, almost overly so, and has made for an enjoyable morning experience. Not going to comment on the product quality because when you decide to stop here, you pretty much know what you're getting every time with little variation. I will echo another reviewer's sentiment, that it would be a nice touch to have some outdoor seating in the front by Western Ave for the warmer weather. Would go nicely with their newly renovated interior. Overall, I've been pleased with this particular location and will continue to stop for a quick pick me up when I'm in need. read more

There is nothing really bad about this Starbucks. It is spacious and convenient, though I miss the curved windows that recalled the building's former career as a fast-food taco joint. This is not a good Starbucks to park yourself at if you need to get some work done, though, because the very very very busy drive-thru means that there's constant commotion and yelling behind the counter. read more

Stopped for a coffee after fasting for some lab work. Saw their breakfast sandwiches and since by that time I was really hungry, ordered one with bacon. The sandwich was wonderful! This is my go to Starbucks in the capital region. I've been to quite a few. It's one of the larger locations, and while it does get busy during peak hours, you're still likely to find a place to sit and get some work done/enjoy your drink. I have never had an incorrect order that they weren't willing to fix without giving me a hard time. Clean, well lit, down to earth staff! read more

This is my favorite Starbucks ever, for a number of reasons. 1) Lots of seating, without feeling too cramped 2) decent outlet access 3) good light/window situation I have done a majority of my master's degree homework here over the last two years and really get good work done. It does get really crowded during finals, especially since it has much better hours than the UAlbany libraries across the street (shame on UAlbany). Like Daniel, I'm a bit conflicted, not about Starbucks in general but about this location. I've been here several times, most recently yesterday morning when I met a UAlbany Weekend MBA prospect. I noticed more acutely some aspects about the experience that I didn't before. Such as the parking lot, which is fraught with tire-swallowing pot holes. Such as not parking on the right hand side as you drive in or you may be blocked by drive-through traffic. Such as the music, which was an eclectic mix of oldies and standards but seemed intrusive this time. Sitting under a speaker undoubtedly aggravated the situation. Such as the service, which did seem a bit slower that other locations. It also seemed a bit chilly and even drafty. With all that said, it may be my favorite Starbucks location (see the conflicted comment above). The product is very good and the staff very congenial. I think it may be the most spacious Starbucks in the region and it is comfortable, for the most part. It's never been hard to fit a seat, which hasn't always been the case at other Starbucks stores. read more

This used to be good a few years ago (2012/2013), I was there consistently, did work for graduate school here and the people working there were great. Now in Feb 2018, the employees are not good, particularly the blonde (maybe manager?) who takes orders and payment and then forgets to put your order in...so then you stand around wasting time and have to remind someone of what you ordered. This is not even because of a long line...I guess they have other things to do like chat with each other rather than help customers. It's too bad because this Starbucks used to be really great. This morning 02/01/19 i went to starbucks in crossgates mall and enjoyed a cinnamon shortbread latte. it was so good i decided to stop at this starbucks location on weastern ave to get one for my girlfriend an drop it off at her work. i proceeded to order and the girl taking my order refused to make it . as she yawned and scratched her butt she said "No more holiday drinks" i pointed behind her at the sign that said "enjoy a cinnamon shortbread latte " and explained to her that i just bought one. she gave me one more yawn and rudely said "no more holiday drinks" . i understand if certain locations dont continue the drinks or something? but why have the sign? and why give me such a rude half assed response.. not cool read more

I live right off Western and there are 3 to 4 Starbucks within a 7 minute drive for me but this one is my go to. Always happy staff. I was waiting in the drivethru a completely normal amount of time but the food took a while. They were backed up with pick up orders and I was given a $4 gift card for my next visit, which was above and beyond. Line is long sometimes but usually moves pretty fast. read more

They have messed our drinks up very often and there is one mid age woman with mid length dark brown hair with an accent that is extremely rude. I purchased a strawberry smoothie, which the barista placed on the counter. When I went to grab it a few moments later I accidentally knocked it to the floor. Upon impact the cup exploded all over the floor and all over my friend standing next to me. There were no customers in line, but the staff ignored the situation entirely even as my friend tried to clean himself up and I tried to clean up the floor. After a few minutes I asked for a mop, and they said to just leave it, but no one made a move to help clean it up or offer any assistance. My friend asked them if they were planning on offering my a replacement, to which all 3 staff members starred blankly and finally said "uhhm, I guess", and then proceeded to tell us that they were out of bananas and could not make us a new one. They didn't offer an alternative or a refund, and we ended up simply leaving. I'm throughly disappointed with this location and would not recommend it, nor would I return myself. read more

I am the biggest fan of Starbucks in the world. I adore everything about, typically I go everyday. However , this location has multiple times not been a rewarding or positive experience. One time, they didn't even have coffee , not ANY type! And the Barista was so rude about it. Granted , I understand they must have been exhausted of telling Customers that they didn't have coffee but the gentleman was rude and very mean. Will not be going back to this location. I am writing this review based on my drive through experience. Every single time I go to the drive through at this location I have a negative customer service experience. Rudeness, wrong orders, coffee spilled on my hand from a lid not secured, attitude about using the Starbucks phone app, money dropped, and just really strange occurrences. To the point that I thought maybe they were doing a social experiment. This location has really turned itself around in the past year. Store 11194 used to be known as the place to avoid (despite it being the closest to my house, I'd go to the Styvesant Plaza location.) Now, it's a pleasure! In the mornings, I'm greeted warmly by name and every barista knows my order. My drink (and extra cup of ice, straws and carrying tray) gets started and is ready before I'm even done at the register. Absolutely miserable service. If you go through the drive through chances are they will give you the wrong order. If you dare go back and tell them you received the wrong drink, you will be mocked, yelled at, OR have the person who made said drink tantrum like a child and drink the beverage you ALSO sipped from to "prove" he made it correctly.
