I usually stop here when I travel back and forth between northern and southern Oregon. Just now we went in to order drinks and we were denied service due to the drive thru being backed up. Stopped here to grab 2 coffees along our road trip, and knew Starbucks is always a safe bet. Unfortunately not- my chai tea was essentially a glass of milk, and the coffee we ordered was was full of white fuzzy floaties- we couldn't figure out what they were. This was apparently after they made the drink a second time- they said the first one "failed". Still not sure what that means. We were surprised that after this, they asked for a tip as well. Ive been going to this Starbucks for a year now and have had little to no issues, but today the barista seemed to have no idea what she was doing. My boyfriend and I both ordered two customizations on our drinks and it took her forever to understand what we were trying to say. After a few minutes she seemed to understand and even repeated the order correctly, but when we got our drinks, none of our customizations were added or even written on the cup! The coffee itself was more than good but no one considers the baristas when leaving reviews here. The store manager makes this starbucks have a very un-enjoyable atmosphere. If I wanted to listen to someone treat the people below them like garbage and to only be spoken to in passive aggressive remarks, I'd go visit my brothers who still live with my mother. I don't wanna buy coffee from someone who treats their employees so terribly. This is the worst Starbucks in Albany. Our food is always cold, drinks never full. I have an allergy and ordered my oatmeal without nuts and yet they still give me nuts in the bag without the other proper toppings. The two ladies at drive thru this morning we're incredibly rude. We always go to Pacific or North Albany and this is why. Take your business elsewhere. This location needs to get it together. read more

I used to come in here a couple years ago on a regular basis. Then I moved. The staff were so pleasant it made people want to come visit. I stopped in for a good cup of coffee this morning. Nobody got one smile from the staff and the tone made me feel like I wanted to sit in my car. I think new management when I see stuff like that and possibly new staff. My lowest score ever for a Starbucks, and to be fair, it's partly due to bad luck. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon hoping for a nice drink and so.e time to open my emails but with the sun streaming through the windows, even with the blinds down this was an impossibility. Add to this the fact that there seems to be only one electrical outlet for customers in the entire store and you have a problem. Of course all the seating near it was taken. I have only been to Starbucks three times in my life. I tried to savory croissant stuffed with cheese and ham its OK,much better than Burger King's croissant. It has pretty decent coffee and nice baristas. I'm not a die hard fan of the place, but it has good drinks that switch up with the holiday seasons and a good variety to make pretty much any coffee drinker happy. It's no stumptown but I enjoy a cup here every once in a while. read more

My friends and I just stopped in for some caffeine on a road trip and the baristas today were really friendly, even when we all had to reload our Starbucks cards and purchase multiple items. The Starbuck's next to Fred Meyers is nothing but average. I feel like their employees don't have a genuine interest in their customers and their coffee is not consistent. I went to this Starbuck's location for over a week before I came to this conclusion and the only reason I went there was because my espresso machine at home had broken. I ordered the same drink during each visit, yet every time the drink was different in taste as well as temperature. After the first two cups of cool temperature coffee I ordered it extra hot. Extra hot must mean 100 degrees extra to them because I then burned my tongue. I guess I made a poor assumption that by saying extra it would go from cool to hot, not from cool to scalding hot. I should have known better than to assume anything at that coffee shop as I have yet to be pleasantly surprised by anything they do. read more

They need to retrain their staff. I ordered a double shot latte and when I received it, it was notably watered down. I asked it to be remade and I watches them put hot water into the drink to make it a grande size. This is not acceptable for the price paid for a latte at a Starbucks. read more

A little bitter (I hear its because they use a finer grind to get more bang for the buck but results in an over extraction and I believe that). Consistency is the name of their game though so if you find something that does taste good you can be sure it will taste good every time. Decent atmosphere for getting some homework done too. You go to Starbucks to get something that is a known entity. Usually the service is pretty good. I don't write reviews on chain places normally, but the service in this Starbucks location is consistently lousy. Today I decided to review this location because the issue is pervasive. Seriously, when the teenager working the register is too busy talking to her pal that is coming in to work to take orders from the two waiting customers, and then grinding coffee for her, that is obviously not going anywhere in a hurry, it is just too much. When I went in I was the only customer in there and they still managed to forget to make my drink..I'm not sure how that happens. Also girl up front was very snobby, you could tell she did not like working there. When I did get my drink (after having to ask why it was taking so long) it was very watered down. I am a huge coffee drinker and have been going to this particular Starbucks for the five years I have lived in Albany. Atmosphere: The place is always buzzing with many interesting people to observe. (I'm a people watcher.) The Hip music and the dark atmosphere feels good to be around and makes you feel like your an extra cool person. I enjoy coming here, because its an outlet to get together and socialize with friends, or just chill alone. Service: The service is good. The baristas are eager to please and have a cheerful temperament when I interact with them. Managers give them a raise for me, and be flexible if they go to college. Drinks: I mostly drink hot beverages, so I don't have a lot to say about the cold ones. I am, however, a creature of habit and enjoy a good mocha or regular coffee. The mochas here are usually a lot better than many establishments such as Dutch Brothers. The mocha is a simple affair to concoct and it should be chocolaty and just a little bit sweet. The plain coffee here is also very good. It tastes bold, and full flavored but sometimes has a little acidity to it. I don't really care what kind of coffee it is, as long as it tastes decent and not like the cheap crap at restaurants and gas stations. Experience: The experience of this particular Starbucks is very good. There is an excellent view to the outside in all directions, and the inside is often well lit. The windows are tinted and well shaded when needed. There are plenty of plugs cleverly inlaid into the window bases that make charging things very easy. The furniture is stylish if not a tad uncomfortable. The place needs to figure out how to get more seating inside the place, because sometimes I come inside and its full. There is clearly more space than is used here and that needs some improvement. cleanliness: The place is very clean and the baristas seem to care a lot about keeping the place up. I even once saw them cleaning the ceiling, so I feel the place certainly is in good hands. Although there are some splash stains from various drinks that sprayed everywhere to be seen here and there, I have to look pretty hard. Pro's: Good drinks, service, and atmosphere. Very clean. Cons: Needs more seating and less nick-nacks taking space. read more
