We have been using these folks for many, many years. They are as good as it gets when it comes to people we have had work on our home. They are dependable, considerate, and honest. We have had them do small jobs and large ones. The workers seem to treat the work on our home as if they were working on their own. This company is very busy and they can be tough to get scheduled especially for a bigger job, but they are well worth the wait. read more

Just a great job all around! Reasonably priced, very professional, and a wonderful result - they did complete tuckpointing and concrete crack repair for our front and sides of the house, as well as a chimney rebuild. Our neighbors were very impressed with the work! Voytek is great to work with - he stopped by personally when we had some questions. I'd recommend them to anyone! read more

Voytek has done a number of tuckpointing jobs for our condo building. He always provides honest opinions and sound advice. His guys are on time and always do good work. I trust his recommendations and the price quotes are always reasonable. Highly recommend. read more

I cannot recommend Star Tuckpointing enough. They provide genuine, honest advice to ensure you get the help you need. Instead of being driven by bumping up your price tag, like so many other companies out there, they have one interest - solving your problem appropriately. If you have a masonry issue, these are your guys. read more

We've used Star a few times on our 3 story condo building for rather extensive masonry work, including tuckpointing and lintel removal and replacement. Their work has been excellent each time. They're very thorough in the process of providing an estimate, and worked with us on revising the scope of work to get it within our budget. Once the work started, they did everything they said they would do and more. Grinding mortar, brick, and steel is messy work, but they always cleaned and straightened up the job site, and finished within the time frame they had estimated. We know our building will need more work in the next few years, and won't hesitate to call Star when the time comes! read more

I have used Star Tuckpointing on my house (and former condo building) many times over the past 10 years. The most recent project was to flash underneath the limestone caps on my garage roof parapet wall which was not done by the original contractor. His team did the work flawlessly and as discussed in his proposal. We also had a separate but very persistent leak in the garage which was very tricky to source. Voytek patiently visited my house several times after rainstorms and found the source and sealed it up with silicone. He has been an excellent resource for advice on our brick house and garage and has a great team under his supervision to perform the work. I will certainly use Star Tuckpointing again even if it means waiting to get into their busy schedule. read more

These guys are awesome. We have a twelve unit condo building that's over 100 years old and had been having some seepage issues in a couple of the upper units. Roofing companies all suggested we have a masonry company look at our parapets; no surprise, after 100 years, they needed rebuilding. Star was one of four companies we had out to do estimates. Two of the four were in and out in under fifteen minutes, and gave us bids of half of what Star and the other company gave and only suggested partial rebuilds; Peter from Star took his time getting up on the roof, walking completely around the building, and showing me where mortar was failing and lintels needed replacing. Star (and the other company) explained the rationale for doing a larger rebuild and although it meant more expense, I think their thoroughness was the way to go. Other than one snafu with the initial estimate missing charges for some roofing, communication was thorough, and both Peter and his brother Voytek were quick to respond to questions and concerns throughout the process. The work took about three weeks, and they did a fantastic job with everything, from keeping the details of the original brick and sandstone, to clean up, to doing a bit of extra mortar work gratis around the building where we thought we had a rodent hole. We have a few more lintels to do in our future, and we plan on using Star again. read more

This is the third time that I have had Star do work on two houses and they are simply the best. Excellent craftsmanship and a fair price. No BS. No hassle. read more

We've always dealt with Voytek for our three-unit condo built in 2006. I couldn't imagine a better relationship with a contractor. He has been absolutely conscientious and diligent in the completion of jobs, and perfectly committed to any follow-up issues that needed to be remedied, and it has to be said that masonry repairs are not an easy prospect in many instances. We've spent in the easy five figures with Star, and have no regrets. We wouldn't for one minute consider calling anyone else. read more

I've used Star twice. Once in 2012 to address some Tuckpointing on the front of our Greystone building and again in 2015 for a major Tuckpointing job on the sides of our condo building. The estimate was not the cheapest or the most expensive. After meeting with 4 different contractors, I went with Star because they explained the work and reasoning behind it thoroughly. Peter was great to work with. They are now my go-to for Tuckpointing . read more

Peter and Voytek are extremely great guys to work with that you can always count on. I have been using their services for close to five years and always have a excellent experience. They are reasonably priced and do quality work. read more

You have to wait in line, because these folks are busy. They are busy because they are excellent at what they do. We took estimates from four businesses, and chose Star Tuckpointing. We chose Star becuase of the good reviews, a "thumbs up" from our contractor (who doesn't do tuckpointing) and because they seemed most forthcoming about what they needed to do. They were also very clear, when asked, about what they would charge if they found more was necessary (one bid was lower, but the price if it had turned out more bricks were compromised would have been double). Everything happened as promised--EVERYTHING-- From the date they were scheduled to start, to their arrival and completion times. And here's the great part--I noticed one brick--ONE, that seemed, to my untrained eye, like it might need to be replaced after they had left. Did they argue? No. Did they complain? No. They came back almost immediately, with a crew and the boss, and replaced ONE brick. And they told me not to pay them until I was happy. I'm VERY happy. Bring on winter--my foundation is secure. Thanks, Star Tuckpointing. read more

Highly professional, honest, and meticulous work. Responded promptly to questions and came out to address follow-up issues with no questions asked. Excellent communication and knowledgeable. Peter, Voytek, and the entire tuckpointing crew are amazing. Our condo building will absolutely use Star for any future projects. read more

I love Star Tuckpointing! Wojtek has been incredibly responsive and helpful in finding and fixing masonry issues in our building. Finding a contractor you trust is like gold. Highly recommend! read more

In Fall of 2016, Star Tuckpointing did masonry repair, tuckpointing, and waterproofing for our 3-story condo building. We have split-faced block (which is well-known for water problems!) on two sides of the building, and we have brick on the other two sides. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and responsive. We were very pleased with their work! Since that time, I've called Star Tuckpointing twice for water leaks on other parts of the building (these were new problems, not issues with their original quality or scope of work). In both cases, they were highly responsive, knowledgeable in finding the source of the leak, and were able to repair the problem. Overall, Star Tuckpointng has been a consistently reliable partner in providing services for our building. We've been very pleased with their quality of work and outstanding service. I highly recommend them, and I will call them again for my own building needs when the time comes. read more

Star just completed a tuckpointing job on my home residence. I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience. Both Peter and Wojciech (Voytek) are extremely responsive and easy to work with. The work is top notch, demonstrating a high level of care and attention to detail. I felt the pricing was reasonable; reflecting superior craftmanship. Overall, a significantly better experience than our prior non-Star work. read more

We highly recommend Star. We recently had them do some tuckpointing at our house, and we found them to be honest, efficient, skilled, responsive, and competitive cost-wise. I called for a quote, and they came over a couple days later. I got a detailed quote in writing same day. With other companies, it was like pulling teeth to get them over and to get something in writing. We were given a reasonable time frame for the project to start, and they ended up being able to start even earlier than expected. On the day the project started, the crew showed up on time (actually, a bit early) and got started right away. My wife and I then left for work and by the time we returned, the crew had finished, cleaned up, and were gone. Job was perfect. Stunning, really. They did exactly what we wanted -- really high quality work. read more

Star Tuckpointing provides outstanding customer service from the initial consultation to final inspection. This is our second project with them. In each instance the project was finished on time and on budget. Their crew is staffed by true craftsman and they leave the job sight clean. Highly recommend. read more

We worked with two different tuck pointers last summer. Our experience could not be more different. We first contacted the tuck pointers due to moisture seeping thru the front parapet wall and draining into window frames. Since the repair by Star Tuckpointing, it is dry. Additional work was done on the side parapets and general tuckpointing and bricks replaced as needed. Star was very responsive, answered all of my questions completely and even drew sketches to help me understand the moisture problem. I found them very honest and even volunteered ways that would save money such as terminating one of a 3 chimney grouping since it wasn't functioning or needed. They were on time and worked the full day weather permitting and cleaned up well. They stayed on the job until it was completed. I would definitely call them first if I need tuckpointing services again. Call them early in the year, they book up quick. read more

Extremely professional and easy to work with. Most importantly, their work is really outstanding. Brick front porch rebuilt and matches house perfectly. They thoroughly cleanup up the whole area before leaving: even swept concrete dust from lawn!! Looks like it was there from the beginning. They responded immediately when asked to return to address concerns. Peter was really polite and most knowledgeable. Voytek was the on-site project manager and made sure we were completely satisfied in every way. Patient with our questions and our lack of prior experience. Would definitely contact this company for all tuckpointing needs. read more

I used Star last year to have my chimney rebuilt. Their pricing is wasn't the cheapest, but it wasn't the most expensive either. I chose them after speaking with multiple companies, Star made me feel the most comfortable by explaining what they were going to do and why. Project was completed on time, and they cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family for future projects. read more

Thank you Star Tuckpointing for the courtesy that was extended to me by your company. One of your employees, Voytek, took time out of his day to look at a water issue our condo building has been experiencing lately. Voytek went up on the roof balcony above my place to show me possible issues that were causing the leak. The other contractor I had scheduled canceled last minute due to the rain. Voytek had no qualms about checking out the problem rain or shine. Thanks again for your professionalism. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for honest and professional care. read more

We had years long, ongoing water issues in our condo complex - Star swooped in and saved the day! Voytek was incredibly knowledgeable about the structural matters in the building relating to the multiple water issues in our complex. He came out during a monsoon to investigate the water issue from inside and out of the structure. Highly recommended!! Thank you for all your help. -Olimpia read more

Star Tuckpointing did several projects on our home. These projects including bricking up 2 windows, tuckpointing and replacing chimney cap, rebuilding our front step wing walls. The work was done professionally, quick, and came out to look amazing. The personal attention we received from the owner, and his sons was excellent. They helped us obtain help with new front steps as well and we are so pleased with the work. I would recommend them as they not only do great work, but go the extra mile to assure the work is done to a high standard. read more

Our Condo Association had a VERY positive experience with them. They returned calls promptly; worked with us to ensure project was done before the weather turned bad; followed up to finish the last couple remaining pieces; and even came back a few months later when we had a question. The owner really knows his stuff, gets you the info you need, and is very professional. Highly recommend! read more

Star has been my mason of choice for about eight years. I have two old 2-flats in Logan Square and can't say enough good things about them. Very professional. Itemized estimate in advance, let's you pick and choose to manage your budget. They review in advance, and check with you before they finish. They keep the job site clean. very respectful of your property. Super conscientious, reasonably priced. The only downside is, as is the case with any good contractor...you have to wait. But they are well worth the wait! read more

Star Tuckpointing, Inc. did extensive work on our home June 2015. It started with a medium size job. As they started to work we learned that builder who remodeled our home 2 years before cut some serious corners (as example: we had water coming into newly build garage and we find out that builder didn't use any issulation) and all needed to be fix. This company went beyond our expectations and I highly recommend Star Tuckpointing, Inc! read more

We've been using Star for six or seven years now on our 4 story, 17-unit brick condo building. They've done a couple of major projects (e.g. rebuilding the entire parapet) and we also have them out every year to do minor repairs. This year we had them remove and replace the sealing around all of our air conditioning units (through the wall boxes). These guys are just great. Prices are reasonable, quality and service are excellent. If you call they either pick up or get back to you that day. Questions are answered simply and clearly. Any minor issues we've had were taken care of without fuss. And I really feel like they identify the base problem rather than just fixing a symptom. Every piece of work they've done has held up perfectly, including one difficult problem for which another company's repair lasted only a year. I have no hesitation in recommending Star. read more

Professional, honest and great job! I had a little more work then originally intended and the folks at Star guided me through what needed to be done and even text me pictures from the attic with before and then after shots. I highly recommend Star! read more

They did my house in just one week, they were very professional and did a great job all around even with the clean up. I had prices from three other contractors, all round the price was close but star was the only one that explained the work in detail and I'm so glad we chose Star, I highly recommend them. read more

They did some tuckpointing work for us in 2012. They were really helpful during the planning to understand what our options were and helped us realize that we could bring one of the window openings to the original condition, making it much larger. They didn't pressure us for any more work than needed to be done. They were fast and did great work. They also responded to my emails afterwards for advice on paint. Very professional. read more

EXCELLENT JOB. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET TO ME SOONER THAN EXPECTED. SHOWED UP EARLY. THE JOB LOOKS GREAT AND THEY DID NOT LEAVE BEHIND ANY MESS! THEY WERE VERY CURTIEOUS. read more
