The view out of the windows. I have never experienced such luxury! I'm sure it costs a pretty penny, but there is certainly a reason why. This is a well known venue because of the gorgeous atmosphere and the luxury feel from the moment you step out of your vehicle. You are made to feel like YOU are the main character!

Beautiful views of the city from all directions, a trusted & large vendor list for you to choose whatever you need, the chandeliers, the drama. There were a few gimmicks I noticed that wouldn't deter me from coming again, but definitely are notable. One elevator for over 400 guests, come on. Difficult directions on where to park/how to access the building, unacceptable.

I was an invited guest at an impossibly posh private event here and I was very impressed with the space inside with multiple rooms of upscale decor touches as well as the polite valets that were handling a large crowd efficiently and pleasantly out of doors. I don't know anything about this part of town. The trip down here had mild "first few moments of an episode of Criminal Minds" vibes as the uber driver was taking deserted, dark back alleys through heavily industrial and/or abandoned industrial areas. I was not sure if I was going to find myself carved into pieces and safely stowed in his freezer in what I imagined what would not be a very nice apartment at all or what. But then the abandoned warehouse rows finally parted and then you could see the super upscale looking joint kind of sticking out off in the distance with the bright glam lights and the valet boys hustling about the lot. I don't like large crowds, but if I had to be a part of a large crowd again I would do so in the handsome event space within. It is part industrial Brooklyn nightclub vibes with the wide open spaces and reverberatory noise, but part family bat mitzvah vibes that you could bring everyone and really make it family style for the whole evening. Perfect space for wearing that fancy hat in your life out of the house where you mingle with fancy people where you don't know half of them half as well as you should like; and like less than half of them half as well as they deserve.

After a month and a half of negotiations with our school district, which is a government entity, they decided to not even try to meet the school district's requirements. I was confronted with unprofessionalism and lack of acknowledgment of their shortcomings from the staff and management team. They were belittling in their communication and demonstrated lack of knowledge in working with school districts and government entities. I have had the pleasure of planning high school proms for almost a decade and have used locations all over the Houston area. This by far was the WORST EXPERIENCE! They wasted months of our time that could have been focused on a better venue. I DO NOT recommend you do business with this company.

It's small enough that you can actually feel close to the artist, which makes the experience much more personal than a huge arena. I love being up close and personal with the talent, and HOB is one of those places where that's actually possible. The venue has a good concert atmosphere without feeling overwhelming, and I've always enjoyed the energy of the crowd. It's easy to see why so many artists stop here when they want a more intimate show. Overall, it's a solid venue for what I go for.
